Decent place. Good Salsa and Chips. I had the Veggie Fajitas and it was of good quality ingredients.

The "wait" staff was very patient and the atmosphere was very welcoming. I was having fun watching the waiters and bartender make up the drinks and take them to the table. The food was great but the coffee was a little cold.

El Patron is one of the best restaurants in Winona! First of all, the food is AMAZING and at an affordable price too! They also have a good bar selection, the margaritas are my favorite, there are many flavors. The service is always great too- the staff is prompt, friendly and very helpful. The food comes out very quickly. The restaurant is always VERY clean too (see photo!) I really love this place and would recommend it to anyone. You won’t be disappointed!

The service here is incredible (even when crowded). Right as we sat down we got our chips and salsa. I’ve never seen a more efficient and upbeat staff - they deserve raises. The food was well priced and what you’d expect from an American Mexican restaurant. My wife and I usually stop by here when we are in Winona. Would recommend!

OUTSTANDING food and drinks!! Had the California Burrito, Steak Casadilla, beef taco - everything has SO MUCH flavor - the salsa is obviously fresh made daily - had the El Patron fishbowl margarita and WOW not only refreshing but delicious!! I can’t say enough good about this spot - even the staff who is smoothly bilingual are very experienced and have a great knowledge of the food they serve. Thank you thank you thank you - I’ll be back again very very soon!

Stopped for lunch. Tried something new I had never tried before. Los Socios. I was blown away by the taste. Nothing like what I've had any any Mexican restaurant. Will DEFINATLY be back for that dish again! Service was attentive. Prices were in line with what I expected. Overall a great experience!

Great food! Amazing service! At the end of the meal five members of the staff came over and sang happy birthday to our granddaughter who attends Winona State. Made the day extra special.

First visit today for lunch. The food was excellent. The service was so-so. It took forever to get and pay the bill. No refils offered for our drinks. Chips were served with a very small portion of salsa. They charge for more. Not impressed by that.

The food was great, but I sincerely wish that they increase the portion size for food (drinks are extremely large, which is fine!) Idk about you, but when I pay 25 bucks I expect a decent portion. Other than this, everything was good. Service and atmosphere was excellent!

All of the food we got was so bad it was laughable. None of it was seasoned. My fajitas were expensive, so I choked down what I could. The other food ordered by my mom was no good either. I've also never seen a Mexican restaurant without hot sauce on the table. The hot sauce they brought me was house made, and so spicy that it was inedible. This is coming from someone who lives for spicy food. You'll have better luck getting fast food. Which is what we wished we had done after leaving hungry and disappointed.

The food, service, and drinks were all super good. Everyone was friendly and obviously in a good mood and the food was tasty and came out quickly. I really enjoyed everything me and my friend had.

Service is hit or miss. Chips are great if they're fresh. Food quality is consistent and usually good. Wait time for food is between 10 and 20 minutes. Prices are nowhere near affordable - it was over $65 for 3 people (no alcohol or dessert).

El Patron is a popular restaurant here in Winona and deservedly so. I have found the wait staff consistently helpful and attentive. The menu selections I have tried are well prepared and tasty. My favorite dish is Los Socios but I have tried most of the meat, chicken and fish offerings. This location has hosted many eating establishments over 40 years and El Patron is the best of them.

Genuinely great Mexican food! The fajita had a great mix of veggies and of high quality. Wait time was relatively low, I definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great sit down experience.

Great food I like the cowboy fajita and I usually get a double cuz it still taste good the next day for leftovers. Service is quick and The atmosphere is calm and has good music. The chips and salsa is also delicious.

I had the shrimp tacos and they were amazing! Our server was super kind and service was fast!! This is the second time I have eaten here and I would highly recommend it.

Good food reasonably priced. Super fast service, and they were packed. Very friendly service. The only issue was they have me beef instead of the chicken that I ordered. Not that big a deal, as it was delicious none the less.

Absolutely amazing service and food! Our server went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of, food came out within 10 minutes (might have even been 5 minutes) of ordering, and the food was the best Mexican I’ve ever had! Definitely will make it a MUST to stop by every time I’m in town

We are not from Winona. We tried this restaurant while touring WSU. I'm glad my daughter chose WSU because now we have more reasons to come back! The Pollo Loco is delicious! The fish tacos were awesome! We have loved all that we have tried and will be back every time we are in town!

VERY Poor service. Waited 40 minutes for food. Brought fries instead of salads. Fish tacos had about an ounce of fish total on all 3 tacos. Very small. Shrimp tacos were a tiny bit better but very small for $15. I thought I was ordering tacos but it was something else and when I said, I thought I ordered tacos when someone brought us our food, he just took it and left. I Went looking for the manager inside and said I'd just eat what the brought out and he said they were making tacos and would bring it out right away. 10+ minutes later they bring my food We didn't get the salads and rice until my plate finally came. Our waiter disappeared after he brought our first and only drink and we asked for him and were told he was in the bar cleaning. He finally showed up to give us the full bill and apologized for the mixup. Came home and realized they over charged us for what we ordered. Came home still hungry from eating at a Mexican restaurant.

The Bandido Mexicana was very good. Margaritas both El Patron and Strawberry were excellent. I didn't care for the white dip. It was a bit like ranch. Overall a very good experience.

Delicious food at reasonable prices. The restaurant was extremely busy at 6:00 pm on a Saturday night. We had to wait about 30 minutes to get a table. Great service!
