Nature preserve β€’ Fishing pond

πŸ‘ A nice little place to walk and enjoy some nature scenery. Additionally, the rock garden is a very cool feature. A little small but a nice place overall. I think it would be enjoyable to fish here. Get out and have a pleasant nature walk! People often mention walk, rock, nice, nature, garden, trails,

This place is excellent for walking the dog, but also for getting into nature while still in the city. The trails are well maintained, and long enough that you can still maintain some solitude as you walk them, if that's what you want. I love the vernal pond and the area left to grow naturally. The flowers are gorgeous.

The front of the park has a rock garden area where you can climb and explore all over giant (and very beautiful) boulders. The nature trails here are well-packed dirt, very smooth. They aren't very long if you're seeking a hike, but the trails go through woods, along the water, and through a grassy wildflower meadow, so there's a lot to see. They are a nice walk for my dog who is getting older and gets tired out from long distances, and there are benches spread throughout. A great spot for kids, elderly, pets, etc.

Nice walk and soon to be nice place to take pictures with the rock landscape. Went fishing for about 2 hours got one little bass. Alot of blue gill and carp. Would recommended checking it out if you have the time.

Spent the first day of spring here (3/20/22) and it was refreshing to get out the house, after dealing with cold weather. Can't wait to come back when the greenery is blossoming again!

Seriously such a good find!! We have needed a place like this in MI, since all our hiking and rock adventures in Colorado. So glad to have this place near home for my boys to run, climb and play with/on rocks. They loved the hiking trails too, they were simple and not too lengthy to keep their interest and little legs moving. There were lots of wild flowers around this park and lots of lovely butterflies to go with them πŸŒΏπŸŒΌπŸ¦‹πŸ ... Even got to see a turtle by the lake :)

Nice area. The hike trail is short but the rock climbing section is really nice.

Pleasant trails (somewhat muddy so choose appropriate footwear) were wide and offered a variety of routes with views of rocks, forest, wetlands and a small lake. Lots of families and pets.

Oh how I love this nature preserve. It’s a great place to go to get some exercise, fish, and just be alone with your thoughts. I love that it’s a hidden gem basically in this super residential area. I love that it’s quiet and people are usually really nice no matter what time of the day you go. I’ve never been in at night but I’m deeply interested. Maybe I’ll add more photos when I go again.

It looks way bigger on the map that much i can say for sure, walked the back half in 15-20 minutes going through all the trails and exploring some of the wooded area. The rock garden was amazing, all the different rocks and types in one place was a sight.

This place was beautiful! Paved pathways the take you past the dam and a fishing dock. The rock garden at the beginning was so cool. My kids played and climbed it for a long time.

Nice park with a unique boulder garden! Unfortunately, there’s no restroom!!! We had to leave to find public restrooms in nearby grocery stores.

About a mile loop next to carpenter lake. They really need more trash can in the middle of the loop because there are trash everywhere by the first fishing pier 😑. People fish on the lake sometimes but I never heard them catch anything and there are so many fallen trees in the water to snag the bait. Cool place to walk, absorb some fresh air and bring your family in Southfield.

A perfect peaceful place to walk and explore, so many black squirrels jumping and walking around, the place is nice and relaxing.

Nice and peaceful environment to fish. It’s quite beautiful out there. I noticed all the big fishes are on the other side of the lake πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.
