Went to this location on Friday at 6:30p to have two small plants re-potted. The gentleman working the counter was incredibly unfriendly, made no eye contact and refused to pot the plant. He stated he had “too much going on” - all the while yelling at, presumably, his daughter who was under his chair. I asked if there was any way he could look at the orchid and cactus I brought in. He ignored my questions and bluntly replied to come back the following day. Noted. I returned the following day with the same plants and his attitude was again dismissive and rude. At this point, he once again refused to re-pot the plants I brought in stating he did not have the appropriate soil. Had he taken a moment to look up during the first encounter, he could have prevented me making two wasted trips to this location. I still purchased some pots and a couple plants despite his trash service but it will be the last purchase I ever make at this nursery. Normally staff here is friendly, but if you see a short brother with locs and a daughter behind the counter, expect to receive poor service.

Good selection of plants, unfortunately everything is overpriced and the staff is horribly rude and unhelpful. I have visited this place several times and would let past rudeness slide marking it up to maybe that person was having a stressful day, however, during my most recent visit an employee went out of their way to shame my wife and I for wearing a mask while inside the building. This place is so convenient for this neighborhood, but that convenience is outweighed by their hostility.

Stop in with a friend to check them out. I about to go back to pickup for my herbs garden. Great location but it’s difficult for parking.

One would think that going to a place called Natty Garden on a sunny spring morning is going to be an uplifting experience...or at least a pleasant one. Nope! My gripe is ONLY with customer service! The selection of plants and all things garden related is great, and prices are very reasonable. Yesterday morning I went to this store purchased two items and left only to notice that I had purchased 'charcoal' when I needed 'activated charcoal'...so I went back to return it. I approached the register with the item I had just purchased 10 min earlier. There were two employees there: the woman was on speaker phone being chewed out by her boss who had rung me up earlier. "Jay" was on the other register. I asked to return an item for refund. The woman asked Jay to take care of me. "Hold on a second, man" he says. So I wait, hearing the uncomfortable phone conversation, waiting for Jay to finsish sorting through label stickers. Another phone line starts ringing. "One second man" Jay says again to me as he goes to answer the phone. He finished the call, came back to the register, and starts sorting labels again. I say " C'mon dude can I get this item refunded to my debit card please?" He answers in an agitated loud voice "She's gonna do it for you, and don't call me dude. Do I look like a dude to you man?" She was outside now but still on the phone. I apologized and asked him not to call me "man" since he took offense to my calling him dude. He threw down what was in his hands and said he wasn't gonna help me as he stormed out of the store leaving me in the store alone. I went out and asked the woman to please refund my card. Jay comes around the corner with another employee YELLING at me to "go back inside and this guy will help you!" 3rd employee is very competent and friendly and finally after ten minutes of this nonsense I am able to get refunded and leave. Going to the Natty garden center yesterday left me wishing I never did! I've been a customer for several years and have had other similar experiences there but this is the final straw for me!! I meant no disrespect by calling Jay 'dude' just like I'm sure he means no disrespect when he calls people "man". But if he is so sensitive about this, he should NOT refer to customers by anything but their first name and/or he should not work with cusromers at all in my opinion. *update* I went and read other one star reviews and the owners replies...all I can say to the owner is you are in the wrong line of work.

I've gotten my healthiest, happiest plants for the best prices at Natty Garden. This place beats all the fancy stores hands-down. The person working there (the owner) is hard at work tending to the store, but he was very calm, patient, and helpful with me. Can't wait to go back. :)

I had such a good experience at Natty Gardens this week. I was helped out by a guy named David. I really appreciate someone who takes pride in the job that they do. He was very knowledgeable about different plants/ best seasons to grow/How often to water them/ best bang for my buck. And I really appreciate that. Sometimes you go into stores with a lot of dumb questions. David never once made me feel like I was dumb for the most simplest questions. I really appreciate the hard work of the Natty Garden team. They made me feel not just a priority but like family. And that's very rare for Brooklyn lol

Apologies for the blurry photos. I really enjoyed speaking with the staff. He helped me understand the best setting for the plants I was considering. You could tell he was busy but at the same time cares about the craft, and ensuring customers leave informed.

Glenroy Mahfood the owner is abusive & rude to customers. He also steals money from the employees. He would allow tips on the kiosk, but employees mentioned they do not get those tips in regards to their labor work. Most of the workers are woman, and he verbally yells and verbally abuses them. His attitude is terrible and usually front line for customer service when it sucks. (Read the review replies to customers) He’s barely knowledgeable on plants. Flowers & plants are bad quality, they are always dying, moldy, and terrible quality or insect issues. The store is a mess, and if it’s a mess in one place, it’s a mess everywhere. I would go to Home Depot or Chelsea garden center where plants are at quality and reasonable pricing too.

Good selection year round and helpful staff! I love coming to Natty Garden and never leave empty handed. They deliver within the neighborhood for a reasonable fee which is helpful for bigger items.

Lots of stuff but super r-e-l-a-x-e-d. On a Saturday 45 minutes to pay. Maybe my own fault. Also no advice for plants. “Go look yourself.”

Visited ONCE and NEVER went back. I went looking for a tough indoor house plant. There was a guy working and one other customer browsing around. I asked the guy working for some help and he said give him a minute. I said ok, waited standing by a plant I was considering and wanted to speak with him about. He NEVER walked over to me. He checked out the other customer. Then disappeared. I looked around and I was alone. I just walked out. RUDE. So because I cannot reply to the owners reply...I will reply here. Only Jah alone will judge you. TRUE Natty don't move so. Why do you keep changing your reply to my review. You should stand firm on what you say. The negative reviews all speak to the same poor customer service. The issue is not everyone else. As for intentionality, I am a black woman who intentionally decided to patronize a black owned business. Black owned or not, it doesn't give you a pass to be rude, then reply to my negative experience at your business in a negative and defensive way. I stand firm on what I said, TRUE Natty don't move so. As always Jah protected me that day.

The best garden nursery in Brooklyn. Centrally located, wide selection of vegetable plants, flowers, and seeds. Great presentation, well organized, making it easy to shop. They have all the garden accessories you could possibly need. Staff is professional and knowledgeable and most importantly, their prices are very affordable. Will go no where else!!

They have many things there trees shrubs plants flower plants good prices. You don't have to shop in a place you look at it when it started small at one corner then it grew to another corner and their business is doing well

Great shop, reasonably priced. The employees are very knowledgeable and more than willing to share their knowledge and recommendations without pressuring you for a sale. For someone reason everyone thinks Brooklyn should feel pretentious, exclusive and high-end. Glad this store doesn’t follow suit. It feels like a relaxed local community store and that’s what makes it great.

Nice people and a lovely plant selection, but their online order system seems a bit disorganized—I placed an order for pickup a few weeks ago, never heard anything after it was confirmed, then got a call a few days ago asking if I was available to receive the delivery. I said i would pick it up, and when I went to do that today, they did not have my purchases ready to pick up, and half the items were out of stock. Until they work out their system, probably best to just keep this an in-person shopping experience.

Good selection, reasonable prices. But every plant we’ve gotten from them (at least 5+) has been absolutely infested with fungus gnats. And they’ve now spread to our other plants. Like an OUTRAGEOUS amount of fungus gnats

Just witnessed the person working the cash register berating and belittling someone who works (for him? With him?). Inappropriate and unprofessional to do in front of customers (or, in my opinion, at all). Lots of other places to buy plants!

The young man who helped me last time has great advice. You could tell he is passionate about his job and was happy to help me begin my plant mom journey (lol). If you need expert recommendations, I highly suggest this neighborhood shop. They have everything!

Small, but convenient garden center with dirt, rocks, planters, and plants. Annuals and perennials are available in the summer, as well as some veggies too. Nice staff! Cash or card accepted.

LOVE THIS GARDEN!!! It’s so full and green it’s like a breath of fresh air, staff is knowledgeable and friendly and all the plants look so good! Can’t leave without purchasing a plant even when I go in with an intention to just browse.

I read some reviews of this place to make sure they didn't have a history of bugs or pests in their plants, and was initially a little turned off by some of the reviews. I don't know what the fuss was about. I've been here close to a handful of times and I really like the place. They carry good products at a price that makes sense given the convenience of the location. They have some great plants, admittedly not cheap, but in mostly great care from what I've seen. And I can tell their inventory isn't old, because they've recently sold out of my preferred potting soil and were able to let me know more was coming in the coming days.
