The worst restaurant in Windsor. I came here on my birthday last year and had the worst experience in a restaurant in my life. We had to wait for ages for our table, even though we had pre-booked one. Then we had to wait over twenty minutes for them to come over and ask us for our drinks orders. We were ready to order at that time so ordered our starters and mains. Our drinks came with our starters, nearly half hour after we had ordered. The drinks were watered down and the starters were not terrible, but not incredible either. We then waited for another half hour for our mains to arrive, but grew tired and hungry waiting, so in the end I had to chase up our waitress to demand where our food was because we were being ignored after waiting for ages. She told us it was going to be another twenty-thirty minutes. All she had to do was come over and explain to us in the first place that it was extra busy tonight so the food was going to take longer, but she had zero customer service skills. I asked to speak to the manager and was given the head waitress instead. We told her we were going because we could not wait any longer and we had already been seated for an hour and a half and not even received our main meals yet. She took the starters off our receipt and only charged us for the drinks. This could have been avoided if someone had the decency to explain to us what was going on. We could have then decided whether we wanted to stay and order a few more drinks while we waited for our meal, or chosen to go somewhere else. By the time this ordeal was over, it was after 10pm and too late to get into any other restaurant. In the end, we decided to go home and order Dominos. My 29th birthday was spent in a foul mood, in the worst restaurant ever without even eating there. Thanks for ruining my birthday, Charley's Horse. And thanks for retrieving it, Dominos.

Such a shame this place has changed so much from what it used to be. Sadly even though we were told we 'could be squeezed in' when booking ahead, we were the only ones there. The portions were a lot smaller than previous visits, quite a few of the items on the menu scribbled out and a few of the Mexican beers 'unavailable'. Then at 9pm the club music started, despite only being half way through our main course and left without attendance. I had to get up to go and ask for our bill after waiting and then the card machine wouldn't work 'because of the railway line'. The restaurant has been in the same place for decades. So disappointed. If you want cocktails and cheesy dance music - this is a great place. Anything else, definitely not.

We had a brilliant evening/night here! Started with a meal which was LOVELY and then danced the night away to a fantastic DJ. The atmosphere and crowd in here is superb, little on the small side but so worth it

Great place for a meet up to have a bite to eat good value for money food was hot drinks were fab staff on bar were amazing had a good chat with them in the pic with all the drinks in that went in one drink.

I love this place. Best Mexican food I've ever had only downside is its not open every day and their website is awful so if you plan to go it's worth phoning in advance.. Even taking these annoyances into account I still think its worth 5 stars as in the 15 + years I've been eating here I've never had a bad meal!

Really poor booking experience and customer service. Tried booking through online reservation form for 6 people over the Christmas period. I had no acknowledgement, no response or contact from anyone to state whether the booking had been accepted or not. After 2 weeks of leaving answer phone messages and emails I finally got a telephone call from a staff member but she was actually calling to tell me there had been a cancellation on the night I had booked and I could have the table if I paid a deposit. So basically they were never going to get back to me to confirm or state they were busy at the time of my original booking. She insisted I go into the bar that evening (she called at 19:30) or the following evening to drop the cash deposit and it was only when I said I couldn’t get there to do that she handed me over to a manager to take payment over the phone. However, our group decided to go elsewhere following this and I have been trying to email, call and contact the bar ever since To cancel and get my deposit back; unsurprisingly, I’ve heard absolutely nothing. Really disappointing.

La Perla it ain't. This place serves the worst margarita i have ever had the misfortune to try. Maybe in the 80s, when limes were harder to come by, using lemons in margaritas might have seemed acceptable, but in 2017 it's akin to serving pasta with dried powdered "parmesan". As if that wasn't bad enough, the bar staff made us a jug of this so-called margarita with a homeopathic dose of tequila. They were eventually persuaded to add more but it barely made the sour jug of bitter lemon more drinkable. They didn't even salt the glasses. A very disappointing experience, i can't recommend it to anyone who likes tequila or margaritas. Shame.

Our Company Corporate Event at Charley's: We booked the place for our Team Building evening. The food was great, probably the best Mexican I’ve had for a long time. We had some fantastic cocktails and the guy behind the bar was very friendly, despite our group demands. It was a Thursday and we were surprised that there was a DJ – so we decided to extend the night. Glad we did. Everyone had a great night. As the organiser, I would highly recommend as the go to place in Windsor. Have already booked for my team for Christmas.

We had 16 birthday party celebration for my daughter at Charley’s Horse last Friday with the party of 16 people. My daughters friends left the most positive feedback. Service was fantastic, food outstanding, very friendly staff, which went extra mile to make everyone happy, electrifying DJ. Everyone had a great time and left really happy. I would highly recommend the place. 👍👍🎉

I was there from 8pm till 10:45pm last night. In that time, we only got starters. I gave up and went home after sometime pointed out that the table that were seated an hour before us were only just getting their mains. Heaven knows how long it took for my co-workers to get their food, if they ever did. Most pointless waste of an evening I've had in years.
