Gorgeous vibrantly blue large lake with lots of boat tours you can take. Support the environment and preserve the lake by taking a sailing trip instead of one of the motored pontoon boats please. We stayed at a house on the lake and it was incredible to look out at the many shades of blue all day. Be forewarned though, all the tourist hotels and restaurants in town are very expensive (and I’m used to California prices) and we didn’t find any of the food to be exceptional, even at the restaurant that we were told was the best restaurant in town. We did have some really great(but expensive) burritos at a food truck across from our house though.

Great Place when you visit Mexico. The water has a wonderful turquoise color. Since it is a small village you can go everywhere by foot. Put your feet into the lake or even take a swim!

Bacalar lagoon is a wonder of the natural world. The water is clear turquois blue but it does change colors depending on the depth and how close you are to a cenote that's feeding its waters to the lagoon, and there are several cenotes that do. The water is warm but not too warm. Still refreshing on a hot day. Please don't wear sunscreen or deodorant when going into the lagoon as it harms the ecosystem , and especially the snails that work tirelessly to clean the water.

The lagoon was magical! The sand couldn't be any whiter and the water any clearer. It was a sweet water lagoon .

Absolutely stunning! I booked on the cruise ship because there was a last min change and we didn't dock until 10am. But all was good and the team was fabulous! Matthew our guide was very cool! Great info about the Black Cenotes, great food buffett and great pontoon boat ride! It was stunning. And the water is like fresh water, barely salty. The bus ride is for sure 1 hour each way from the cruise port.

Absolutely amazing. The water is not salt water and feels great to swim in. I would recommend going when it’s not the rainy season, and if you’re going in the rainy season be sure to go during the morning 9-2 so that you don’t get caught in the rain.

A very unique place in Mexico. Off the beaten path. Don't expect any chains.

Beautiful views and crystal clear water. Amazing weather even in November. Would recommend checking it out if you're in the area!

The name comes from the fact that the varying depths of the water reflects the light in different ways. Getting into the Lagoon is quite tricky but an amazing experience. The water is freshwater and you can wade out quite a long way before the water gets too deep. This is the main reason people visit Bacalar and it was one of the highlights of the tour.

Seeing pictures online we decided to see if the colours were true!! And yes they are 😉 Lots of boating options and of course, don't forget your swimming gear too!

7 Color Lagoon in Bacalar is just amazing. The great water is about room temperature & warm. You can wade in about 100 ft into the water. Overall, a hidden gem. 👍🏽👍🏽

Loved the Laguna! Warning if it’s your first time, BUY WATER SHOES! My friend cut his foot on glass in the water which then started a strange reaction and he had red welts coming out of his foot. We had to go to a walk in clinic and get him a prescription of antibiotics. There is a bacteria in the lagoon that no lab has tested before, so they don’t even know what kind of bacteria it is. So be careful! And if you get the red welts it could just be an allergic reaction to the water, many locals get that reaction as well. Don’t panic but please bring or buy water shoes.

Very beautiful lagoon, I do recommend to buy your tickets in advance on high season, and if you are a english speaking you need to make sure your guide speaks English. They respect the nature so much and that's why it's in a such a beautiful condition, they recommend don't use sun protection when you swim on the lagoon. Some of the tours have music, and refreshments for tourists. Prices are around 300 to 450 pesos per person depending of the company.

👍👍 If your accomodation doesn’t have access to the lagoon this is a perfect spot for you. Entry fee was very inexpensive. You get access to changing rooms, a restaurant, bar, slides/amusement area, souvenir shop, and there’s pontoon tours that take you around the lagoon. The food was surprisingly del...

👍👍 The more southern my boat tour went, the more gorgeous the colors got. You’ll love to learn and see more as you visit all the cenotes with the Gaia Experience, located inside the Yak House. My evening tour was $25 USD and they provide amazing history and views. I hope you find this review helpful....
