The worst purchasing experiences I have ever dealt with. The selling agent Jodie was very friendly and had prompt communication throughout the contract negotiations but as soon as our contract went unconditional, there was a complete shift in attitude and communication from the agent. If I ever tried to call, email and text regarding urgent information required for the settlement of our property and wouldn’t hear back for days. There was always a shifting of blame for any issues. When I wouldn’t hear back for days there was an excuse that everyone in the office was sick so they were incredibly short staffed. “Fair enough” I thought and gave her the benefit of the doubt. But weeks later, even worse communication and still the same excuse. It’s a bit odd that everyone in the office is suddenly sick for weeks on end. Anyway, the only way I could ever get a response from Jodie was by getting my solicitor involved on the email and it felt that if my solicitor wasn’t on an email I was ignored. So this made for an incredibly stressful purchasing experience especially. In conclusion, I feel like Jodie treated us unprofessionally once she got what she wanted. The service and experience was night and day better from other agents we have either sold or bought through. Update: 18/09/2023 I have made several amendments to my review as a gesture of goodwill to try come to a peaceful resolution with Affinity Property and prevent any potential legal proceedings.

Context: posting as an ex-tenant. Dealing with Jodie was the absolute worst interpersonal experience in my life. Unprofessional, zero integrity, taking complete advantage of us through deception & intentional omission of information. It's a shame PMs don't have any incentive to treat tenants with respect outside of general character (in which there seems to be none here). For anyone looking to engage Affinity, read the one stars from those on the supply side of the equation, I can personally vouche for all of them (even if affinity responds claiming SLANDER!) Edit in response: Your facts are a true subsection of what actually happened. Communicating we're fine to break the lease but omitting the fact we're liable for rent (aside from fine print at the bottom of an email), ensuring me "demand is hot & it will be re-let within a couple of days", then going on holidays for two weeks with no warning & failing to re-let until our lease would have ended otherwise. Still charging us a re-letting fee, refusing to answer the phone while I try and clarify what's going on (it was quite comical all of the excuses your receptionist had), then submitting a bond refund of $0 with no communication whatsoever. It felt as though we had been robbed blind with 0 recourse. I totally agree that you did nothing illegal, but simply wish to point out your lack of care and integrity in how this was handled.

By far the single worst agency I have ever dealt with. If you are a tenant STAY AWAY. They are liars and will do anything to keep your bond. I was on a periodic lease and was given notice to leave right before Christmas, then harassed for not trying hard enough to find a new rental when nothing was even open because of the holidays. I was not given a reason for the notice to leave which I later found out was illegal if you are on a periodic agreement. When I asked for the reason, I was told by Kyle Tether that it was because the owner wanted to renovate so he could relist at a higher rental price. Funny then that two days later I woke up to the sound of a for lease sign being hammered into the front lawn. My neighbour, who was given notice to leave at the same time (duplex), was given a completely different response altogether when he queried why we were asked vacate. Whilst I lived at the property I always received praise at inspections for how well I maintained the home, yet the second I moved out I was told that they would be claiming my bond because the house was "filthy". Suzanne West lied to and harassed me for weeks after I moved out. I received my exit report days after it was legally required to be sent to me. Everything on the list was marked as dirty and/ or damaged including the fly screens that I had newly installed 24 hours prior to vacating; the bathtub, even though the house didn't have a bathtub; and damage that was clearly evident on my entry report. Thankfully, I had anticipated that this was the kind of agency I was dealing with, and had claimed my bond back as soon as I handed the keys back, which I highly recommend any current tenants with this agency do when they vacate. I was told by Suzanne West that she had submitted a dispute regarding the bond. I can only assume she was aware that she did not have a leg to stand on, and was trying to bully me into retracting my claim, as this was also a lie. There was no dispute lodged and I did receive my bond back in full. After my bond was returned, I was also asked to pay for the back yard to be repaired. The damage to the backyard was due to the floods in early 2022 and had been reported to the agency twice but nothing was done about it. I even offered to fix it at my expense during my tenancy so it would be usable but this offer was apparently refused but the owner. Several weeks after I had left the property I received another ridiculous request from Suzanne West to pay $500+ dollars for "cleaning" (no invoice was provided) after she continually refused to give me a more detailed response than "basically everything" when I asked repeatedly what needed to be rectified. She then continually stated in emails that my bond cleaner was refusing to return to rectify the issues that she refused to elaborate on. This was blatantly untrue, my cleaner was happy to return if she was only informed what she was expected to fix, this was clearly communicated to Ms. West many times. The house was actually left spotless so I do understand why Ms. West was unable to provide a response to such a simple question. I was also asked by Ms. West to return to the property to empty the rubbish bins several weeks AFTER the property was already re-tenanted. For clarification, I left the rubbish bins on the curb to be emptied as is requested on Affinity's exit list, and as far as I am aware it is not my responsibility to remove someone else's trash, in fact I believe doing so would be considered trespassing. It was not until I asked Ms. West to stop harassing me or I would contact the office of fair trading (as the RTA recommended) that she finally left me alone. Before I am threatened with court action for defamation as other people with similar experiences have been, please keep in mind that I have written/ photographic evidence and screenshots of everything I have said in this review. I also have a witness for the in person encounter with Mr. Tether. I am attaching photos of the apparently "filthy" state that I left the house in. It was cleaner than it was when I moved in.

Affinity managed my property for 6 years. I never had a single issue during that time. The team are excellent to deal with; thorough, kind and considerate...of both myself, as the landlord and my tenant. Their reporting and invoicing was also always on point. I would like to call out Luanne in that regard. Sean has assembled a great team. I highly recommend them.

Sean and the Affinity Property Team did a great job selling my investment property in MacGregor. I was impressed with their service and friendly, professional approach. The property sold quickly and was under contract in less than 1 week. I am very happy with the contract price and how the property was marketed successfully especially with a tenant in place. The digital staging, property webbook and digital contract offers allowed buyers to submit contract offers quickly and I was impressed with the professionalism and efficiency of the sales and marketing campaign. Sean explained the process up front and answered any questions I had throughout the sale process. He has great real estate knowledge and was able to answer any technical questions I had regarding the sale of my unit. The marketing campaign was also well-priced and good value for money. I am happy to recommend Sean and the Affinity Property Team to any property owners looking to sell.

Sean McCreanor and his team at Affinity have definitely raised the bar in their industry and restored my vision of what a Real Estate Agent should aspire to be. When it comes to being honourable, friendly, professional and family orientated, Affinity ticks all the boxes. Great Communication and the advice and help we received was invaluable. The big brand real estate chains could learn a lot from the Affinity team. We would recommend Sean McCreanor and his team at Affinity Property Australia to everyone.

😠 If I could give zero stars I would. In the seven years we have been at the property we never had an issue, not one. Alone that we had 4 different property managers in that time. It wasn't until we had to vacate is where all the problems started arising. Money gauging to a T. I'm glad to know that th...
