Great free koala education centre that allows for learning about koalas and what goes into looking after them in Brisbane. Highly recommend visiting It is free. Donations are encouraged though. We visited for the morning with our little one and had a wonderful time. Definitely recommend visiting again.

The koala centre is small and houses two koalas, yet is a great place to visit. It gives an educational tour of the life journey of a koala from womb to tomb. The display is excellent and eye-catching. It is a great place to bring kids along to kindle their interest in learning about nature. There is a small display about other endangered species as well. Entry to the centre is free of charge. You can also take a walk in the adjacent conservation park. There is ample space to park in the many car parks scattered along the road. Parking is free of charge.

Very interesting place in the middle of a beautiful forest with wallabys around - it was very quiet and peaceful, they are educating a lot about the koalas and a very lovely wildlife scientist took her time (even it was near to the closing at 4pm and we've been the only guests) to tell us about why the 4 koalas are kept there (chlamydia, one was born in captivity and is not able to survive in the wildness) and how they are taking care of them. They don't let you touch the koalas (very good!) and they make sure it's quiet and the animals don't get stressed. Animals they take care of (after car accidents etc) are released back into the wild after recovery. Definitely a recommendation and thanks again to the nice lady that's been talking to us yesterday!

What a beautiful place to visit! Two koalas in the enclosure today and they were munching on the leaves.

My toddler and I absolutely loved this place. It was a nice relaxing, free, fun afternoon. There is a boardwalk for easy walking with a pram and we were able to see native bees, listen to beautiful birds and of course, see some cute koalas!

An educational place to visit! Admission is free. It’s a natural outdoor setting center with a theater. My kids enjoyed reading and learning some information about koalas. The rescued koalas in the center look very relaxed. The number of koalas may vary from time to time. There were 3 when we visited. There are outdoor picnic areas and barbecue stand outside the center. We had a pleasant visit.

Awesome place just outside suburbia. Lots of space for the kids to run around. The koala centre itself is free and educational for both big kids and little kids! We took some snacks and made use of the table and chairs. Finished the outing off with a walk around paperbark trail before locating the 1.2km round trip trail. Parents be ware, you’ll prob make it half way before having to carry the terrors back 😂😂… but hey, there are plenty of sticks to be collected 🙌🏻

Very disappointing experience. Staff were checking some people's double vaxxed status and not others. Allowing some people to not check in via QR, whilst forcing others. Masks were also being forced on some and not others. This centre really needs some dire management upgrades to better service the public, and adhere to current covid restrictions. There should also be a better way for the community to donate towards the koalas, such as charging a fee to enter, this may help with governing who can enter the centre and under what circumstances whilst assiting our endangered species.

Great Place! The facilities are well maintained, you can see the Koalas really close up and they have interactive information panels throughout the centre. The park is beautiful, perfect for a weekend stroll. (We even saw a Kangaroo mum with her baby during our walk) And its free! Cant really get better than that...

Amazing place, great that it is free however I would love a tap and go donations option. Good for all ages, interactive and fun. They're actually real life koalas here for free right next to a park that's full of wallabies and there's heaps of parking which is also free. it's a no brainer if you have relelies or visitors from out of town take them here. If you're a little bit further away it's an awesome day trip and if it's your first trip to Australia free Koalas come and see them 🐨

I recently visited the Daisy Hill Koala Centre, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience, especially for koala lovers like me! One of the highlights of the visit was the opportunity to get up close with not one, not two, but three charming koalas. These fuzzy creatures stole my heart with their cute antics and gentle demeanour. It was an absolute delight to observe them in such proximity. Another standout feature of the Koala Centre was the daily keeper talk session. A knowledgeable koala keeper introduced us to these marsupials, sharing fascinating insights about their behaviour, habitat, and the efforts being made to protect them. This session added a layer of understanding and appreciation for these iconic Australian animals. For families with curious kids, the Daisy Hill Koala Centre is a treasure trove of educational materials. The centre houses an impressive collection of resources, including informative displays, interactive exhibits, and engaging presentations. It's the perfect destination for an educational day out with the family. In conclusion, my visit to the Daisy Hill Koala Centre was both entertaining and enlightening. I left with a deeper appreciation for koalas and their conservation. And what’s the best? It’s totally free to visit. If you're in the area and have even a passing interest in these marsupials, I highly recommend paying a visit. It's an experience that will leave you with a warm, fuzzy feeling – much like the koalas themselves!

Nice walking tracks around the area. It has a large picnic area. Gets really busy in spring to summer months, making it really hard to find parking. Wood fire BBQ,s and some electric ones. Toilet facilities and mountain bike tracks. Make sure to take water, sun protection, insect repellent and a good hat and walking shoes.

What a fantastic little place which is packed full of important information, all in an inspiring and interactive way. The enclosure for viewing the koalas through the day is multi storey (accessible) giving you a great view of 3 koalas and the talk hosted by the rangers. The koalas here have ovarian cysts which means they’re infertile and if they were released into the wild and males mated with them they would not successfully breed = opportunity missed to mate with a fertile wild female who can produce offspring. So it’s wonderful that we get to see them here in an education centre for FREE. This is not a place for people and families who do not value wildlife, wildlife education and conservation.

Thank you for creating such an amazing atmosphere, so close to the suburbs. A little break away from the chaos with nature walks, koalas, wallabies, birds and lots of wildlife! The facilities also offer educational presentations on local native wild life and how we can protect this beautiful land we live in.

My family and I have lived in the area for 40years. While our children were younger never was there a celebration with family or friends where it wasn't held at Daisy Hill Koala Park. It gets better every year

Amazing, relaxing walk through the bush to the centre. These koalas have been rescued and they can't be released in the wild. So they are well looked after. Koala means 'no drink' in aboriginal.

The place is really nice and educational, if you what to know about koala it is the perfect place, the information is didactic and clear, the koalas are under good terms. You can find : - real koalas - koala information - parking - green space - playground - bbq - picnic area - bathroom Mark point: the entry is free and I highly recommend you to bring something for a picnic because the place has a big and beautiful green area that you can enjoy with the family and good picnic

Such a great experience! Could see the koalas for free instead of spending $45 at lone pine. Great information on the conservation on Koalas and native wildlife including some interactive sections. Everything was clean, updated and well kept. Staff where friendly and the koalas seemed happy and safe. 10/10 would recommend!

What a hidden gem that we found! Thanks to a suggestion post from Bubs and Review on Facebook, we were looking for a day where we were out in nature on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. A mere half an hour from the Redlands, we also took a drive through the suburbs instead of the highway. There are plenty of carpark if you kept driving along. It goes in a full circle one way. There were atleast 8 carparking areas. The koala sanctuary was great especially the delight of our kiddo. We manage to see 4 of these furry beauties sleeping . There were loads of information about koala and it was sad to know many maaany years there were nearly extinct due to the use of their fur! The walking tracks were great. It was such a well kept sanctuary. Many families were having gatherings and BBQ with the many facilities available including several wood fire ones! Plenty of bathrooms as well. As many has mention, it would have been great to have a tap and donate spot.

A great place to learn about koalas and other Australian animals with family and friends. It is accessible for prams and wheelchairs. Beautiful and quiet. There is plenty of car parks if you go past the centre and follow along the bqq yard areas. There is a few bqq's available although I didn't see any bins which is understandable it is open to wildlife so do take a bag and take your rubbish with you. The place is very clean and tidy. Do not take food inside centre as it isn't safe for the animals. There are plenty of trails to follow if you like taking strolls in the forest. There is one way to drive in and one way to drive out. Definitely a place to visit! It's free and open to the public.

This fantastic free koala viewing centre is located next door to the conservation park which is a beautiful place for a walk or picnic. The centre gives you a great easy way to see the koalas up close, better than seeing them anywhere else especially since it’s free. Easy parking & easily accessible for everyone including those with mobility issues. Highly recommended

Really cool here. Great for the kids !! Koalas up close and personal but not forced into having hugs with tourists. Love that! Love how it talks about the rehabilitation of hurt and sick koala. Only downfall was no donation boxes anywhere ?! Would loved to have left a cash donation.

Month of visit: October 2023 (+): - A must-visit place especially if you want to see some koalas for free! - Nice place to bring children to learn about koalas and see nature (big trees) etc. - Nice place for a picnic in the forest, chilling, hiking or biking. - Was surprised that the toilet was clean when I came. (-): - It is not public transportation friendly, if you go by bus you will still need to walk around 2km to get to the place. - Actually, there are only 3 koalas that we can see easily and the place for these koalas has been modified to make visitors easy to see them. - Please be quiet when you see the koala, yesterday i thought people maybe were too excited to see these cuties and are making quiet loud voices, and as a result, the koala awake from their sleep. Don’t make them become more stressed, please.

What a great spot for a BBQ with a little education. Facilities all disability friendly wide paths electric BBQ but still maintained the bush feel to it. There are links to the past with picnic tables and old school wood bbqs. . It was very busy on my visit as school holidays. Lots of groups going through. Highly recommended.

Enjoyable place. Followed the road all the way around for a scooter ride, roughly 5000 steps. Cut across the large picnic area with pleanty of under cover table and chairs , lots of drinking fountains and I think I spotted some BBQ's. Heaps of toilets too. Missed out on seeing any animals in their natural habitat but was a treat to see some Koala‘s up close. Would be a lovely area for a family picnic

Beautiful place for a family picnic, especially if one arrives in time to nab one of the coveted spots. Sufficient toilet facilities. Enough parking (mostly) although that depends on how many people park and walk; so be sure to get there before mid morning to grab a parking spot. We went in a group of about 10 people, and even though every table was taken up by midday, the park did not feel overcrowded as the tables are not close together. There are short walks close by, as well as longer walks. And the Koala Centre is highly educational too!

Recently upgraded facilities...well maintained. Real life koalas, and roo's. Great for families children and room for games. Bbq facilities are good and spread out. Care needed on the circuit road with children...traffic is too fast. Don't wait until actual closing time to leave, security come through and shut gates right on time. If they miss you, you will be locked in. Great place to go and enjoy the great outdoors without the travel. A credit to NP&W.

Good spot for a family get together and a BBQ. Some barbies are now electric but those in the center of the park are still wood fired. Due to this being a nature park, there is no play equipment for kids, so be sure to bring along something to do. Very popular on weekends and public holidays, bring something to sit on as all tables can be taken.
