It’s an amazing place, can’t say enough. You do need to pay $25 per vehicle which is valid for the entire week or $15 for pedestrians but I think it’s worth every penny. The money goes for conservation which is great. I went here for run everyday I was in the area for 7 days and it’s so refreshing. Mostly people just park the vehicle on roadside or in the parking run / walk on the road. Pets are ok on the road but not on beach as usual. They’ve shelters and restrooms too. There is a .3 mile walking trail and about 2 miles in way on the road. If you get lucky, you could meet a ghost crab or see a turtle nest.

Sugar-white sands and the gulf make this an incredible beach to spend the day. They have a nice pavilion and a boat ramp. Get there early if you want to avoid the crowds.

We love Johnson’s Beach and spend literally weeks every year year there. Something needs to be done so more people can enjoy. Fisherman routinely taking up too much space. This morning on Memorial Day we were able to get a park on the road side, gathered our stuff and headed to the beach to find 6-8 fisherman taking up over 300 yards of space right on the surf. We have very limited parking and access now since hurricane Sally and I’m a fisherman too but I want all to be able to enjoy this area. Could there be designated areas for fisherman? It’s all our park and any group should not keep should not keep others from enjoying.

Great spot to hit the beach 🏖️ Not crowded and easy to find parking when we went. Super clean beach and soft white sand. Great place to relax or catch the sunset. Can’t wait to go back.

Recovering from Hurricane Sally, and more improvements are scheduled. Amenities include protected outdoor dining decked areas for picnicking and large gatherings. Restroom facilities are clean. Family friendly with swimming in the Gulf of Mexico. More than adequate parking and close to resorts and restaurants. Generally not to crowded.

I absolutely love the Gulf Island National Seashore beaches! You can purchase an annual pass for $40. which gets you into a several locations or you can pay by vehicle. Beaches are always beautiful roadside parking. Fort Pickens by Pensacola Beach is truly amazing to see and it's included with the pass just bring comfortable shoes and a light jacket. I highly recommend purchasing the annual pass and exploring all the locations!

Be careful when you visit and watch your belongings. We had a small cooler stolen today at the pavilion by the restrooms. The road and road parking were closed, so visitors were required to park by the pavilion which was packed. This was not disclosed by the park or ranger. This used to be a quiet area but not anymore. We won’t be coming back in summer season. I’ve been vacationing in this area my entire life and have never had anything like this happen. Left a message with the ranger station to warn other visitors especially with a busy holiday weekend coming up.

We come here 3 to 5 times a week. We are local, and we come to fish in the evening until the park closes at 9pm. Tonight we were harassed by a park Ranger. As my boyfriend was walking to get the car a park Ranger asked him "where he has been", that he had been looking for the owner of my car. That we shouldn't be here because the park closes at 8. We were parked in public parking, along with 6 other vehicles, so why say anything to just us. He threatened to write a ticket if we didn't leave, which makes zero sense because the park is OPEN UNTIL 9PM. Thanks for ruining a perfectly good evening for a family doing absolutely nothing wrong. I feel it is in the job description to know the park hours. Highly frustrated with today's experience, and the lack of professionalism.

What a Great place to spend the day. People don't utilize these facilities enough. I go there all the time, and have for many years. the one year pass did just go to $40 from $30 but still well worth every penny as often as I end up over there 30 or more times a year but it also covers all other National seashore's like Fort Pickens as well. There's fishing in the Gulf or on the sound side Back Bay grass beds. There's also free restrooms barbecue grills covered gazebo type awnings, and a few power outlets to charge cell phone set equipment

Requires an entrance fee but then you can also go to other parks. We liked it and went a few times while on vacation. They have bathrooms and an area to rinse off the sand before getting in your car to leave.

This is a National Park and I have a Military pass, so I get in free. Not sure what the cost is to use. But it is a nice and quiet beach.

Best kept secret in Perdido. Miles of beautiful white sandy beach just off the main drag.

This is a great beach! Lots of space for families and the water was great. There are bathrooms and also a Pavillion with picnic tables so you can enjoy whatever food you brought with you. Which is a great bonus because no one likes sand in their food. There is an entrance fee but it's good for a week! So you can come and go as you please as long as you have your pass. Will definitely visit again.

Really beautiful beach. It also has bathrooms and a shower area to wash sand away. It's also nice that it's a national park because there's actually seashells to look at.

By chance I came to this place, I paid $25.00 to get in (1 car, 2 people). It was great because the beach is very private and super clean. I loved it and I recommend it.

I love going to this beach when visiting family. It's always so peaceful and relaxing, even when it's crowded you can always find a location away from the crowd.

If you want to go somewhere to connect with nature that is good for your soul, go to this beach. It's absolutely magical, beautiful, peaceful and not crowded. It's a national park, so there is a fee to get in, but that limits the crowds. So invest in your peace of mind and make time to visit this special place.

Love the gulf but from experience the big lagoon side is better fishing good no rip current and calm. Gulf side however is an unlimited view of the Gulf of Mexico. Always interesting shells in the shell lines and sometimes if you look really good you can find whole sand dollars.

The beaches are clean. The staff working the area are friendly. The bathrooms are clean. This is a family environment. More importantly, the history behind Johnson’s Beach is something everyone should get to know.

I live near Perdido Key. I had company from out of town and wanted to take them kayaking down by the kayak launch area. I have a small kayak trailer. I was told that trailers are no longer allowed, even by the kayak area on Friday, Sat and Sunday. This was at 8 am when the park was not crowded yet. Very disappointing. I can understand if that area was full but I was told that it was not full but no trailers of any kind allowed.

👍👍 This is one of the best kept secrets in all of Florida. This is the last "stop" along the way west towards views that are unhindered by commercial excess. Once you reach this point, it's just flat, clean Earth. And on one side you get a view of the bay to the north and an amazing view of the Gulf t...

😐 While we loved taking our dog to the beach and the actual beach is beautiful and so is the area for dogs...the tiny little area that is open for dogs is lacking. There are miles of beach here and it's not crowded so why they couldn't have a bigger area for dogs is a question that many people have. W...

👍 Nice beach. There is a port-a-potty in the parking lot for the humans. Clean beach, I saw no dog waste anywhere. I came between 8-9 AM on a Monday morning with my dog, only a handful of people there, I saw four dogs total, three that were swimming with their owners. There is no fresh water access or...

👍👍 Beautiful beach that is always kept impeccable. The sand is limestone quartz sand that is fine and white, beautiful. I love Pensacola Beach. Been coming to this beach since the late 70s. Nice selection of bars, hotels and restaurants. If you are looking for a nice beach you can't go wrong here.
