Fun trail, but it is best experienced on bikes..we rented ours at infinity bikes (highly recommended). Bring plenty of water , snacks and plan the trails you want to take because it gets hot and there isn’t a lot of shade!

A great bike ride through the park! My favorite section to start at is the Gulf Oak Ridge Trail West & make a large loop as it's beautiful & a little more shaded with Oak Trees and Spanish moss hanging down over the path. Make sure to bring stuff to protect against the biting yellow flies during this time of the year. I recommend picking up a bottle of Cactus Juice Bug Protectant to have on hand just in case!

The Hugh Branyon Backcountry Trail is a really great walk (or jog/bike). We walked only 3 miles round trip of it while at least 25 people were smarter than us riding past us on their bicycles. That would have been a great idea for us too but we were walking with 2 dogs. We did this hike on Fri. 9-23-22 and it was in the 90s but felt like 100. My car said 102 when I left. It was a really hot walk and I do not recommend walking all the way back to the campground or the nature center or the beach from the main parking lot... unless the weather is in the 80s or cooler cause the 90s was absolutely too hot to do all that walking. You are walking in 100% SUN 🌞 (if it's sunny) no shade until you come across the bridges with the overhangs and benches etc. So be prepared if walking...I truly recommend biking over walking. There's a lot more to the park than what we got to do if you ride a bike instead of walking, you will be able to see a LOT more of the park.

Super nice and kept up! Plenty of benches and picnic tables along the way to rest, even clean bathrooms along the trails! They had things along the way even for the children to play on. We saw turtles, alligators, and lots of beautiful nature! I would definitely recommend taking the family and make a day of it!

Beautiful biking and walking trails. We have been riding about 10 miles a day all week long. Ok, if you have a bike what are you waiting for?? We have found about 8 different places to park and unload the bikes. From Gulf Shores all the way to Orange Beach. Can't wait to comeback and do these trails again soon.

Nice area, lots of great views and 28 miles of trails and boardwalks. When you want a moment to get away this is a great place to go. Check out the Bloom bicycle app and find a free bike to ride through the park or bring your own.

Bike rentals (for free!), well maintained trails, wildlife...how could you go wrong? This place is a gem amongst a tourist centered, beachy area. We took several excellent hikes here, just disappointed we were too early for the magnolia blossoms!

We took a wonderful stroll on the trail on a late September morning. Only some of the trail has shading, so afternoon walks on hot days can be a challenge. No mosquitoes to speak of. The trail was a mix of wooden walkways, asphalt, and a little bit of grass. There's one water station along the way. There was no elevation. Overall, its a pleasant, not too hard, 3+ mile trail good for walking, jogging, and biking.

This is a great trail. If you are taking dogs I suggest a stroller because the gaps in the wood was so big our dogs paws kept slipping through. We saw an armadillo

Very nice park for a good walk around. The RV park ruins the scenery a little but overall it's still a very nice place, with good rest points to sit down with your dog.

Great trails, lots of wild life from gators, snakes, bobcats, otters, deer, turtles, eagles, osprey and coyotes just to name a few.

My whole family had a wonderful time riding our bikes on this trail. There were 5 of us riding, 3 were children ages 5- 10. The trail was clean & wide. There were plenty of fun places for the kids to stop & play. Their favorite was the climbing rocks near the butterfly garden.

Pretty cool. I think it's best suited for bicyclists or seniors. The paths are mostly paved or boardwalk and you have to go through a large RV segment of trail that's really just road.

Lovely path filled with pleasant people and beautiful fauna. Bathroom facilities were quite possibly one the cleanest I've ever seen which is such a bonus. Beautiful area. Glad I decided to stop and run here!

Love it!! Riding some of the trails as a kid (when they were literally Just Trails through the woods),... it's really amazing to see them paved and well maintained! Many different trails now,... spanning between Orange Beach & Gulf Shores with nice wooden bridges, swings, benches, Band-Stands, Obstacle Courses "Look-Outs" built atop the highest ridge on the island, and much more! πŸ‘πŸ»

Well maintained paved and wood trails with lakes and a big camping ground, beautiful, dog friendly, not much shade.
