Amazing place to see the historical architecture and feel the ancient vibes! Really enjoyed the visit, although giving it only 4 stars for inconvenience - it was impossible to pay by card, both for the tickets as well as for food in cafes on site. Would be alright if there was an ATM nearby, but unfortunately there wasn’t… So definitely worth a visit, but don’t forget some cash

Nice place, lots of information shared on information tables. Lots of interesting ancient building remains. Informative and well ordered muzeum. Very good overlook to the surroundings.

One of the highlights of our trip in Albania. Very quiet from tourists, beautiful Greek ruins that are very well kept.

This was a pretty place to visit. The map was a little weird but maybe it was just us. Also, the amphitheatre was outside the actual area, but all the stone were just piled up? Maybe I am wrong in this too.

Well preserved archaeological site. Definitely worth a detour. You can access the place via the theater which is a bit outside the park. Cost: 600 leke There is a lot to see and the museum with the sites provide decent amount of details on history. About 1h30 for full visit with walking all around the site

I confess I do love an archaeological site. But Apollonia does a really impressive job of transforming this large site into an actual lived-in city, whilst also maintaining pleasant grounds with landscaping and wild flowers in abundance. The signage has clearly been updated with CGI images of how the ruins would have appeared (particularly impressive with the Arch and two-storey promenade) and the portico and odeon are hugely impressive in their own right. The monastery and museum are also very photogenic and nice to walk around (a young couple were having wedding photos there), though the museum's collection of busts and pottery could be better curated. Most excitingly for me, I stood in the Library where Octavius Augustus most likely studied - top celeb-spotting! Well worth a visit

Apollonia is archeological site of an Ancient Greek trade colony which developed into an independent city. Later it became a Roman city in southern Illyria. At the very city center you could see the remains of the city council, small library, Odeon and Portico. It was located on the right bank of the Aoös/Vjosë river, approximately 10 km from the eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea. Its ruins are situated in the county of Fier, close to the village of Pojan in Albania.

Confusing map. Hardly found Nimpheum. Theatre in pieces. Museum is great.

Nice archeological place, with simple explanations in Albanian, English and French. A bit less enjoyable when it’s too hot (went in July) but still with a few trees and shadows. Not as impressive as other famous archeological sites (Rome, Pompei, Athens) but worth a visit if it happens to be around the area. A nice 1-2h stop.

Great Roman site, but stay close to the main square hunting for the theater is not worth it.

Lack of signage in the site, orientation is difficult.

Small roman ruin, but worth a visit as is the museum connected to it. Very atmospheric and worth taking a picnic and spending some time enjoying the place. There is a cafe at the top of the hill in a small wood. Also worth taking a break and coffee.

Nice but a lot of stuff has not been excavated yet. Archeological enthusiasts will for sure love this place. It’s huge and we did not have time to discover it all because of bad weather. Be aware that entrance is approximately 1000 lek and you can pay by cash only.

Most beautiful think I’ve seen in Albania as an albanian. Breathtaking! Totally understand why a civilization was built here.

Nice place with the ruins of the ancient city of Fier called Apollonia. When we were there, some new ruins were discovered and when you go there some others might be there as well. It is a very nice place but i am giving it 4 stars only because the place is a bit dirty, as we found the usual plastic bottles on the grass and other trash, and because getting there is a bit hard as there are not many road signals or they are hard to read.
