Blue eye is fantastic and beautiful! The green and blue shades are authentic, clear to see through the entire length of river. The road to drive to parking lot blue eye is currently in construction. A lot of construction is ongoing right now in the winter season (March 2022) to pave the road, we are only able to walk until turquoise photo area, but not further into the hiking trail. You will still be able to see the true colors of blue eye as attached picture (even prettier). On the way walking into the area, you will be able to see a few pretty views that aren't turquoise yet such as the blue waters. We parked outside the construction area and walk along the construction road for around 1km (feels shorter honestly)

I am sorry to give this low review, but to me, this is a typical tourist trap. Walking 15-20 minutes one way to see a spring water 🙈 It might be impressive to someone from the deserts, but in my home country, spring like this can be found under every stone (just kidding) ☀️

Such a beautiful place. Nature is truly magnificent Loved how clean it was Entrance was 0.50€ the day we visited (end of July 2023) , but other people who visited on June 2022 didn’t pay . There is a sign that forbids people to swim but they do it either way! Water is very cold but worth a small swim The walk to get to the Blue Eye takes about 15 minutes and I recommend you wear sunscreen and a hat , keep water with you at all times !!

A beautiful and peacful spot with dreamy water colours. We walked up the road and hiked back through the forest with some nice views. We arrived at 9:00 and there was no ticket guy nor any other visitors so we had the place to ourselves.

Don't come here in summer unless you don't mind walking in a crowd with thousands of people. The Blue eye is beautiful but not worth the trip if you are using public transport. Although swimming is prohibited a lot of people didn't care that it was a protected plant life area.

Beautiful place to explore. The scenery is amazing! You’re hiking for about an hour, so bring some sun screen and enough water. I’d also recommend hiking boots if you want to explore the off road trills. The eye itself is easily accessible though. There’s also a souvenir shop with decent prices and plenty of stops for a bite or a drink. Don’t forget your swimming clothes if you want to take a dip!

If you like hiking don’t pay money to enter the pedestrian side walk. It’s disappointing and there is plenty of garbage. so instead after the entrance there is a parking and then entrance of a hike from the other side take left after the parking and then left after few minutes to stay on the path by the lake, honestly it is amazing take about 40-50 min in the mountain and it is just stunning. Note that swimming is not allowed anymore which is sad, but the main reason is because they built access road for cars and pedestrians all the way to the river and restaurants and they charge 50 lek to enter, so disappointing feels like the place lost the nature beauty of it and it is now a touristic place with rules and garbage!!

(Translated by Google) The Blue Eye is one of the clearest springs of water in Albania, located 250 km south of Tirana, the capital, and is a four-hour drive. The nearest city (Saranda) is 20 km west of it and half an hour by car. A place worth visiting and very beautiful .. The eye reflects the blue color of the sky, so it is called the blue eye. A special place and you can swim in it.

Wonderful place to visit. Very Jurassic and the water is so fresh and tasteful. I can understand to a certain degree why you are not meant to swim, but I think you should be able to and I did take the opportunity to, many people did so please do not judge. It’s a wonderful nature park and should be enjoyed as nature intends.

It's gorgeous but quite busy in the summer season. From the entrance to the bleu Eye is still a twenty minute walk down. Take some sun protection, there's not much shadow on the way down.

One of the most beautiful and well-preserved nature spots in Albania. Note: you need to park down in the valley and walk 30-40‘ up to the sight. Luckily, there’s plenty Parking of parking. Sadly, there‘s so much trash along the trail. You can rent an e-scooter to make your life easier up the road, but honestly?, just walk.

Beautiful blue water oasis. Deep enough to Jump in but be careful with the water current, will certainly take you. They do have motor scooter and motor bike rental before the hike to get there faster. The hike would take about 10-15 minutes to get to the view. There are food vendors/restaurants inside and I suggest avoiding early afternoons since there’s plenty of tourist during that time frame.

Blue Eye is a wonderful place that you should definitely visit if you travel towards Saranda. The road to the destination is not very good but it is accessible by any car if you walk less carefully. You have to pay 200 leke (about 1.7 euro) at the entrance at the beginning of the bridge then you will arrive at destination for about 1 km. I suggest you visit this miracle before sunset.

What a beauty of mother nature. Spectacular how the water gets pumped out, the color and clarity of it. An amazing spectacle. Ann all around seem to be springs bringing more and more water into the river that passes by the Blue Eye. I kept looking at the volume of water the river carried and looked at the dry mountains around. There must be huge underground reservoirs that with no rain for a long time there is still this huge volume of water flowing.

Stunning natural wonder. Beautiful and impressive. Get ready for a little walk to it, I recommend you to pass the first parking lot from down the street, insist that you want to go up to the other parking lot, this way you will have a shorter walk.. If you want to jump into the Blue Eye, don't forget your bath suit. ( a lot of people are jumping, I did the mistake to let my swim pants in the car)

The food was fresh, the drinks cold, a great salad and quick service, all praise for the waiter. Nature is phenomenal, cold water and crystal clear. Pork is a little different than in Serbia, you should try it. Be sure to visit blue eyes restoran.

Beautiful source of water along the course of a small river, all surrounded by greenery and coolness. The colors of the river are extraordinary. ATTENTION! If you really want to enjoy the show you must arrive early in the morning or alternatively in the evening, otherwise after 9 the place becomes very crowded and a good experience can turn into a nightmare! The last stretch of the road is not paved but quite easy to travel. The small refreshments present do not serve breakfast, at most a coffee without anything else.

Well worth a visit. It's an amazing place even though it might get crowded in busy hours. Would advice going after 14:00 as in the morning there are a lot of people in the summer. The water is really cold 10° Celsius, still you should try it.

Definitely worth a visit. Around 30 minute drive from Sarande, around 100 lek entrance at the gate, people park their car (Albanian style) right on the street next to the entrance. Around 1km walk on a newly designed, modern street (don't forget sunscreen) until you reach the well. The blue eye itself is a small pond-like well where the water springs from the rock.. The water is crystal clear but be careful if you want to swim: 1: it's quite cold (around 12 degree celsius, even during summer) 2: the flow of the water is very strong.. if you are not a good swimmer, the river will push you downstream 10 meters immediately.. So probably not suited for children.. Also there is a little shop with souvenirs. The whole area with the beautiful water is not very big, but you can also walk around in the surrounding woods if you want to spend more time there..

Incredible blue water and very very cold 😂. You have to park 15 min away but it’s 100% recommended. You can take a bath there, jump from a platform or just take a rest in the bar next to the blue eye.

It's nice to visit but not in Summer. I was thinking that we can visit this place by car, but not, just must walk more than km up and down, on a hot sunny day. It was my worst experience this summer because we left Saranda earlier just for visiting this place. The water is to cold to swim, as we previously know but we were hoping its not that's 🥶 😁, that's our mistake. Kids were jumping, but I'm sure that's the bad idea, also dangerous.

An absolute natural wonder. This is a must-visit when traveling to Albania. The crystal-clear water and the deep blue color of the natural spring is breathtakingly beautiful. The surrounding nature is also stunning and adds to the overall ambiance of the place. Visitors can take a dip in the refreshing water, or simply sit back and enjoy the views. The only downside is that the place can get quite crowded, especially during peak season, so it's best to visit early in the morning or during the off-season. There’s a 20 minute walk but its totally worth it. We loved the experience.

Big tourist hotspot so come early to avoid the busyness and the heat. The parking in the beginning is paid, if you drive 100m further you can park for free next to the road. It’s worth it to walk around the blue eye in the forest, very beautiful.

Easy hike after a simple drive up. If you're taking your own car, try and skip the first set of parking you see when you immediately arrive and head towards the main entrance which is right next to the dam. Really scenic with amazing colours, you definitely get a jungle feel. There's a restaurant and washrooms near the attraction. Didn't see any wildlife in the water but that may be because it's a man-made element.

Nice but definitely overhyped. Paved walk all the way (1h30 slow walk from the first parking - 200 lek per car or 15 min on an electric scooter for 5€). A pretty pond in a lush greenery. Nice experience and calming walk but wouldn’t come here again.

Incredible. One of the prettiest hikes I’ve ever done, and I’ve been to 11 countries. You can’t beat the views for how short of a commitment this is. Make sure to bring swimming gear for the blue eye. It’s cold but wonderful.

Stunning, fresh and so pretty. I didn’t expect the real thing to be as spectacular in reality as it was in the photos but it is. The parking was interesting, we were not allowed to park our car further up and had to walk the full 2km to the site (or pay €5 each for a scooter) Still, the walk was very pleasant and the area very pretty.

Worth the hype. Wear a swimsuit as you're hiking up, it will feel amazing to cool off. Though the water is certainly the coldest you'll probably swim in. The hike itself is pretty easy and the road renovated. The views are outstanding for sure.

Very beautiful place to visit. Wasn't too busy in mid September. Would definitely recommend to rent a scooter to get up the hill as it is quite far to walk. Definitely worth to walk around a bit more than just the Blue Eye, wear good shoes. The little restaurant also has a very nice view and some great coffee.

Magical quiet place to enjoy nature. Outside peak season is nice as well to visit. Currently there are construction work to pave the road to the site so it makes it more accessible but you can walk there without any issue. The hikes around the location don’t provide a better view than going near it.

Nice place to chill during a warm day. You have to pay entrance fee on the bridge (200 ALL for two adults and a car) while entering park and later you have free parking on the road or near restaurant. There are many people around the spring but there is enough of place for everyone. There are restaurants around so you can eat or have an ice cream there. Water is cold so be prepared 😉

Fantastic natural beauty. Be prepared to walk from the dam to the actual sight around half hour on a nice road but if you can, plan carful your time of arrival. Early in the morning or late afternoon as we went there in the middle of the day and felt like walking through the desert. There is a restaurant on the sight with delicious food and normal prices. We’ve been there on Tuesday and was still crowded. There is a sign against swimming in the river but…pick nice place for taking photos.

Amazingly beautiful place. Google photos show people swimming there, but it is forbidden now. And it is a good thing as it is a place worth preserving. You need to pay for an entrance to the park but with a price of 50L (about 0,5 €) per person it is basically nothing. You need to walk about 20 minutes from the last parking or you can rent an electric scooter. Recommend walking though ad it is not a difficult hike (the road is paved). One of the most picturesque place I've ever seen.

In the summer, it's a very hot, 25 min walk to the river. The walk itself is on a nicely laid tarmac path, but it's very up and down, so be prepared to hike it. Once there, it's rather underwhelming and busy. People were also swimming in the river, despite signs saying not to, and this ruined the view somewhat. Maybe in the cooler months it would be great to hike there, walk around the river system but in the height of summer, it's very hot and a long way for a short time!

Blue eye itself is very beautiful, the colors are unbelievable, the nature is just wow. What is annoying is amount of people, I have never seen spot so crowded in Albania. You can park 2 km away from Blue Eye, parking costs 200 ALL for 3 hours, 50 ALL per person is entrance to Blue Eye. The walk to Blue Eye is easy, not need for special hiking clothes, its paved road. As stated, place is very crowded, but still worth seeing! The water is very refreshing in hot summer day.

Very small place, and very crowded. There were 100+ people in early August which made it kind of crowded, and not entirely peaceful. The drive from Saranda is not far and has pleasant scenery. Despite not quite being what I expected the eye, and the colors of the water were worthwhile. Overall takes about an hour or less to see and walk around.

(Translated by Google) Once a beautiful and unspoiled place, today it is an overrated tourist attraction, to which tourists are taken by buses from nearby hotels. Entry paid according to the table of 100 Albanian medicines, but at the gate they charge 200. It seems that not much, but the disgust remains. Further, behind the bridge, crowds, dust, a leaky, gravel driveway to a few stalls with Chinese souvenirs and rooms for rent, for a price of EUR 15 per person, you can put up a tent, literally next to a garbage can! I found a secluded spot on a piece of the side access road to the old excavation, just right for one tent and a small car. In the morning it was so crowded that I could not leave one day in the evening overnight, the next day because the road was blocked with coaches and cars trying to enter. There is no parking space for the number of cars that appear here, but a few hundred meters before the service enters and checks for entry does not care at all. Apart from the crystal water from the source, like many in Albania, the only thing that stands out is that you have to pay for entry and you can buy a fridge magnet, beer and eat something in one of the two fast bars. I recommend it for those who will have on their way, have never seen any beating spring and have a lot of patience, preferably in the middle of the week. I do not recommend people looking for a quiet and secluded place. Ludziom szukającym spokojnego i ustronnego miejsca odradzam.

(Translated by Google) I arrived at this place from a tour of Corfu, through the Ionian company. The place is really incredible, because it is a spring of clear blue waters from where the water gushes at more than 50 meters in depth. I jumped in the spring. There were several excursions besides mine. Nobody else jumped. It was a hot May day, but the water was very cold. Surprisingly cold, to the point of feeling the body almost petrify, beyond the cold. When jumping, the deep waters soon push you to the shore. The water flow is incredible. The river rises there, in that huge blue hole. Around it, a beautiful forest of native specimens, such as cedars and almond trees. Blue dragonflies fly all around. Nearby there is a very well maintained bar / restaurant. It is very worthwhile to spend a few hours in the place. It's just not worth hiring the Ionian company to do this tour. They are lazy and unmotivated in conducting the tour (which includes Butrint). We spend a lot of time in cafes in Saranda, although this place is much more interesting and we only stay half an hour. If you like the new, the surreal, the natural, you can't help but like this place. Allow more time than I had. O rio nasce ali, naquele imenso buraco azul.

I will say this: Unbelievably good SERVICE! Polite, welcoming businesses all over the place, clean restrooms, despite the great number of visitors. The photographs of the hundreds of visitors speak better of the beauty of this place and it’s peculiarities than any description.

My opinion about the blue eye is diverse. One the one had, you have the colorful spring with the freezing cold water. One the other hand some huge construction work is going on. The area is getting prepared for mass tourism… Beside that grief future, we enjoyed our visit in the low tourist season very much. Only a few tourists found there way to the Blue Eye.

It's really beautiful place with fresh water spring. We passed a great time there. The only problem was parking, cause people were leaving cars beside the road instead on 3 parkings near the spring. At the end it was difficult to leave the place cause the road was so narrow.

Looking at the colors, you might think that the pictures have been edited. Well think again because the real thing looks just like you see it in the pics. When visiting the area don't miss this magical place in the middle of the forest.

Beautiful blue water. Only 50 eurocents to enter. It’s quite a walk to get there with ups and downs, we went midday which I wouldn’t recommend because of the heat. The walk to get to the blue lake isn’t very special. We took the alternative route back via the mountain, Which is a bit challenging with flipflops (haha) but way more beautiful and adventurous. To do so, take the road from the viewing point (if your on the plateau with your face to the blue eye, its the path on your left hand). There are no signs, but keep right and you’ll find your way back eventually (+- 45/50 min walk).

Just a beautiful natural phenomenon, this water spring is a must see when visiting albania. Just keep in mind the parking is a mess so give yourself plenty of time when there. Also the walk to the print is about 30 min walk in a cemented path if you do not like the heat go early in the morning or just not in the summer.

I'm in awe of the place. Truly amazing to see thousands of litres of pristine crystal clear water gushing out from the ground. Mind you the Blue Eye is mesmerising. Wish I xame prepared to attempt a swim there, only got my feet wet. Gosh beside the 28 degrees for the day temperature, the water was really cold and refreshing. The leisurely to the Blue Eye took about 30 minutes. Parking is available as well. A negligible amount to enter the park.

Beautiful crystal clear waters set in a well maintained public park. Parking is a bit chaotic. There is a large car park at the bottom of the hill which is intended to be used by visitors, but Google Maps will direct you further up the hill, where the road suddenly ends (replaced by a sealed pedestrian path closed to public vehicles).

Beautiful water and nature. Get there before 930am to beat the heat and crowds. It’s a 2km walk from the parking lot on a paved road. You can rent a scooter if you like. Give yourself at least an hour total. You are not allowed to swim anymore so it’s a quick visit. I personally like blue eye Theth in the north better and recommend to try and see both if you can!

Really beautiful, mesmerising water. Worth a visit and the walk isn’t difficult. Photos don’t do it justice. Disgusting that despite signs everywhere saying no swimming people in reviews are saying swim anyway??? Keeping people out of the water is the only way to preserve how beautiful it is

Very pretty natural sight. There is a 2km walk to the actual sight, on a good and accessible road (2 hills to climb and go down to). Toilets before arrival to change if you wish to swim (quite cold water) and at the nearby restaurants. There's a hike that goes around the lake but you can see the source of the Blue Eye before starting it. Wheelchair-accessible and they rent e-bikes and e-scooters to get to the blue eye at the two parkings. Free parking for scooter at the first one, 1€ entry fee for the national park.

It is a beautiful setting. The water is very cold but some people were jumping in it. The place is also quite crowded. The parking wasn't expensive at all. The Blue Eye is about 2km away from the parking lot. It takes some time to get there. Aside from walking you can also rent a scooter for 5€/hour or other motors which were a bit more expensive. There's also a restaurant & bathroom station on the way to the Blue Eye. Overall it was a nice experience!

A scenic place that gives you positive energy. This blue lagoon of fresh spring water that comes from the interior of the earth is beautiful. The temperature of the water is around 10 degrees, a little dip gives energy.. :) We rented scooters down by the car park, this was a good investment in well over 40 degrees heat. The walk from the car park is about 3 km. Renting a scooter for one hour cost 2,000 Lek per person. hour.

Absolutely a natural beauty. The restaurant was very busy so it was a long wait for food. Keep in mind it's a 2km walk from the parking. Watch the temperature and keep hydrated. I saw rental scooters...a good option!

Beautiful nature with a stunning view on the blue eye. Quite a long distance from parking lot to the main spot (around 2km) especially when it’s hot outside but definitely worth it. Quite a lot of tourists even in September. Try to be here early in the day to avoid the crowds.

Really nice place to visit when you are in southern Albania. It’s accessible from all ages. There is a 20 minute walk but the pedestrian area is paved.

👍 It is a bit crazy how infrastructure is built around it and everywhere else in Albania backcountry there is still pretty nothing. However, the blue eye is still very beautiful! And you cam swim further down, there are many exits like the one on the picture
