The girlfriend was in the mood for some crab cakes or halibut, she didn't care which one, she just needed one or the other. When she gets one of those hankerings, its best to just find it for her. :) We've been to this Ivar's before and have always liked it. We walked in and the air was on and we definitely appreciated that considering it was around 95 degrees outside. I wish I were better at catching names because I feel I can't give proper shout outs to the ones that deserve it, but our servers were all great yesterday. Great for a quick bite to eat and a nice place to cool down in this heatwave we're experiencing.

The quality and the portion of the food is very lower than what you pay, see the photo. Photos on the website are completely different. Also, fries were very hard to bite. I don’t get the reason of some of high rated reviews. However, staff are very friendly and service was good!

The chicken was quite good! This is a greasy and heavy meal, however, so be prepared and be hungry, otherwise you’ll feel it as a gut bomb. Classic fast-food style seafood and chicken that’s fairly good quality. I probably won’t be back in a while cause it’s so heavy, but worth trying out if you’re in the right mood.

Order 4 piece cod and fries. Split with my wife. Really good. Place was empty on Wed evening. No line. Friendly service. Price was great. Table were clean.

Ivars in Federal Way is exactly what a fish and chips place should be, which is affordable, really tasty, fast, and no frills. And it is very clean! A bonus is that there are seagulls in the parking lot which makes it that much more authentic. But the fish and chips are very very good and I would stack them up against any of the other fish and chip places in the Puget sound area. This is my go-to place for a really good cod fish and chips. And the staff is always very very friendly, which is huge to me.

Food was fresh and wonderful! No complaints here at all. Atmosphere was 3/5 because they had some annoying jazz music playing and it just made me feel irritated, wish they would play many genres, not just the same sound of a saxophone 🎷 so if you like jazz, this is your spot. Also, kind of tiny so not a lot of space. We ate outside and that was better. Service, decent. The girl was overwhelmed and not the nicest, not rude, just not very friendly or welcoming. We rarely eat here, but when we do, we always look forward to it. It's a touch pricey, but well worth the money. We appreciate the 10% discount given to military personnel. We appreciate it. In the Rona, silverware is no longer provided unless specifically requested; this is true of most restaurants. This is an observation and a friendly reminder, not a complaint.

Tasty fast seafood place. If you want a quick but satisfying bit of seafood, Ivars has you covered. The fish and chips and chowder are favorites.

When Ivar first came out with the fish sandwich and fries maybe over a year ago I loved it. I had it at the same Federal way restaurant off of 320th but this time there was only half the fish there use to be on the sandwich and less then half the French fries . It tastes great and the price is good. But out of all three times I ordered it. This last time about 3 days ago was disappointing only because of the portion being cut in half. It does taste great though.☺

We always like on when we come here because it is so infrequent but we really like the food. It's a bit spendy but it's an awesome splurge. Military gets 10% discount so that is helpful and we are grateful. Thank you! Be sure to ask for your forks, spoons, etc otherwise since the Rona it isn't out anymore, but that with most places. Not a complain just an observation and a reminder.

Love the place but the portion size is so small. Even the clam chowder soup is very watery and diluted. Like y'all can raise the price but keep everything the same. The portion size and condition of the food

I appreciate the good service and food from this establishment. I can tell the employees care and are properly trained. Over the years this restaurant has earned my trust. I just wanted to say thanks!

Fast food dining. The spicy calamari was mildly spicy, and the pieces seemed a little small, and the portion seemed to be a bit small. The fish and chips were cooked perfectly, tasted wonderful and well portioned. Unfortunately, they were out of sourdough bread, so I could not order the chowder bread bowl. So I ordered the chowder without the bread, and it was as good as ever. The chowder is constantly great after many decades. The atmosphere, however, looks the same after many decades. The staff was great and friendly.

The food is really good. Hot, fresh, delicious, & reasonably priced. We love this Ivar's in Federal Way. The only drawback is how much the fish portions have shrunk over the past few years. Of course it seems as though most restaurant portions have shrunk, especially since covid. Sad.
