One of the worst service experiences in our 47 years of travel as a couple around the world. Front desk staff, including the "manager", Bianca, were rude, condescending and dismissive. After four recoding of our room keys in two days, she asked with a smirk, "Ma'am, would you like me to show you how to use the elevator?". Room service was only available with 24 hour advance notice. Our reservation was for a suite. Upon arrival, we were informed that was not available and offered an "upgrade" which was a small room which needed renovation (see photo of the bathtub and lack of vanity space, even for the hair dryer in our room) and the upgrade was a breakfast on a separate floor that could consisted of cereal, stale muffins and ancient sausages. In executive level floors in other hotels, the snacks and breakfasts are higher quality with cook to order breakfast and pastries, wine at cocktail hour with fresh vegetables, fruit and cheeses. In this case, we avoided this offering and went to a restaurant and paid for a decent breakfast.9 A terrible experience for the parents of the bride at our daughter's wedding. Do NOT recommend this hotel. We have emailed the hotel with our concerns as well. No response.

My son and I stayed here last week as a quick get away. The staff at the restaurant/bar in the lobby was extremely rude. The male worker first lied about what the hours were for the restaurant, after he was corrected, he made it very apparent that he did not want us eating there, and suggested we take it upstairs. The room also had empty coffee creamers on the desk and it made us wonder if the room had even been cleaned. Great views, but definitely go somewhere else.

Hotel Murano was....interesting. We were so looking forward to an amazing room, on an amazing weekend with amazing views. Sadly, we were disappointed. The front desk staff was either having a bad day, untrained or unhappy. The check in process was underwhelming. Additionally, when asked where we could go to buy some supplies (wine, snacks, etc), we were sent to a local convenience store. To put it nicely, the convenience store was surrounded by homelessness. Not a safe environment to say the least. I booked the Patron King room. These rooms are "top floor" rooms. Not true. We were given a room on the 25th floor. There is a 26th and 27th floor. When we got in the room, we were immediately not happy. You could tell right away that this hotel was built in the 80's and had a less than professional renovation. The room was just....dirty. Window sills, dirty. carpets...dirty. And the kicker is that there was a sticker left in the blankets. They put us in a room right next to the ice machine. Kept me up all night clanking. Why not put the ice machine in the Patron Lounge? Instead, I spent over $600 to be kept up by an ice machine. I wish I could tell you that I thoroughly enjoyed the view, as it was stunning. The problem was that the windows were very dirty on the outside. Now, you might think that being on the 25th floor, it's hard to keep them clean...which might be true. However, the windows open and could easily be cleaned from the inside. No reason that they can't be cleaned everyday, especially with how expensive the rooms were. It definitely was a distraction and not appreciated. There was not enough storage in the room. One of the nightstands had a drawer, one of them didn't. The armoire, while large, only had two drawers. The tv was not easy to use and I had to completely reset the cable box in order to watch TV. The Patron Lounge was not fully stocked. Lights were burned out. Sad that this was one of the big perks of the hotel. The Lounge was amazing. Good staff, good food, good wine. I would NOT recommend the Murano. WAY overpriced. PS, there is no hot tub, unlike what it ways

For $170 per night, I don't think that I'd stay here again. I don't typically write reviews unless I feel that my experience was really not worth the money (or if it really was!). Bought about $75 worth of groceries, stored it in the fridge, and the next day it stopped/wasn't working and all of the food and drinks we bought went bad. Café had a 30+ minute wait and didn't have enough available seating for the events they host, even getting there when they opened there was a wait time. Room service wasn't allowed, covers on the bed had a rip in it. Door lock stopped working too and we got locked out for a good hour or so before someone came to fix it. Hotel itself is beautiful, but seemed to care more about money made over quality of stay.

At first glance the hotel would have been 4 stars. But there was a power outage for close to an hour. They do not have a backup generator and had to have engineer work on it. It lasted about 50 minutes. When we called about it after reading previous reviews saying that people have dealt with that. The service was poor. They had little to say. Also the windows were very dirty and they said they first said they can send microwaves to the rooms but when we requested on they said that they had none. If this service is offered they should have them. But it was the lack of care about the issues that really bothers me.

Customer service not up to the luxury standard they are trying to portray. Check-in was rushed even though we were the only customers in the lobby at around 5 pm. The receptionist did not confirm our room before sending us to the elevator. The room was accessible but not very well kept. When we brought this to the hotels attention, they implied accessible rooms aren't as nice as regular suites. I find this unacceptable. I'm not sure if this is an issue with just Hotel Murano or the entire Provenance brand.

The service at the front desk was rude and condescending. The women helping us seemed to wish we weren't here. They charged for parking without a valet service and she scoffed when I asked what the total was before she charged my card. Isn't that customer service 101? "And your total today is....". I guess she missed that day?

Both TV's in the rooms we booked didn't work and they only took $20 off each room. That barely covered parking and the coffee machine didn't work either. Motel 6 would have been better.

When you step into the building you get overpowered by a strong cologne smell. The glass art is covered in dust. There was a hole in tile in the shower, rust on the shower head, and cracks in the bathroom mirror. At least it was close to the conference center. I would not stay again.

The hotel looks newer and has been recently renovated but their service is terrible. We had a TV remote that wouldn't control the TV so we had to go up to the TV each time we wanted to turn it on or change volumes, sort of like how we used to do it with turn dial TVs. The handset on the in-room phone didn't work and we can only use the speakerphone on the base. We found blood stains on the duvet cover that the wash didn't clean out. We requested our room to be cleaned 2 times during our 4 day stay and not once did it get cleaned. Even though front desk said we need to request it 24hrs ahead of time. Nothing was addressed during our stay except the bloody duvet cover, but only after contacting them 2 times to have it replaced! There is no pool at this hotel. The location is convenient for Tacoma and it served its purpose as a base for our schedule. However, I don't think I'll be staying here again.

The service was immaculate. There were some minor inconveniences such as only having one working elevator. When we finally got up to our room the keys we had didn't work so we waited in the halls, but were brought new keys. The room itself was nice, but our lamps didn't work. The bulbs were in need of replacing. The walls and windows were a little dingy and could have used a good cleaning, but I did love the feature of cracking open the window for fresh air. The bar was lovely and again..great service.

4 Stars is a joke. Let me start with the fact that we check in to our room and the TV doesn't work, change rooms to one that has light bulbs out. Hope you enjoy basic cable as well because that's what you get. Get over all this and need some salt and pepper for dinner that was not included with oue door dash order... Call the front desk to ask if we can have some, my question is answered with you might get it you might not. We use to love this hotel, don't waste your hard earned money.

I really liked staying here. The rooms are cozy and I liked that the windows did open. The area itself is not safe, at one point I heard gun shots very close by around 2am. So opening the windows was nice minus hearing gunshots and random hobos screaming. I was here for work but for about 8 days so it was a good home base. I just had to be very mindful as a solo traveling woman.

Poor customer service. I had an incidental charge that was relatively minor compared to the incredibly high cost of the room. When calling and asking about the charge, the hotel staff indicated that this was between me and the third party booking agent - despite this charge being an incidental directly from the hotel. Rather than working on the charge or escalating the issue to a supervisor, I was hung up on. Hotels are in hospitality. Being hung up on is particularly inhospitable.

this hotel should be a 4*, but in fact it's not. Room was spacious but dated, illumination was bad, toilet looked poor and old fashioned. Full of carpets, which is bad for people who suffer from asthma or allergies. Staff was friendly but not properly dressed for what they consider a 4* hotel. Plus point: coffee facilities in the room. Reception looks fancy and modern tho, but 150$ for one night without breakfast was too much.

Can’t deny, this place is really cool. Only downsides for me was it was a bit hard to find at first and they were replacing the parking lot asphalt while I was there for a week, super minor inconvenience and I know when I go back, they’ll be a fresh paved lot. The room was great and the staff truly was lovely. I hope I get to stay here again.

I originally rated this hotel 2 stars in 2018, but I came back in 2022 and I am upgrading this to 5 stars. The self-service parking was easy, the desk check-in was extremely pleasant and efficient, and the room (a king suite) was clean, comfortable, spacious, and had all the amenities I expected.

The staff were very kind when I first came to check in to my room. I stayed on the 11th floor facing the mountain. Though it was too cloudy to see. There were many places to unwind and relax on the floors and an amazing gym. The only reason I gave 4 stars is the parking fee. However, I definitely recommend staying if you're in the area!

Short version: Very average, a little dated. Would I stay here again? Probably. Long version: What I liked about the hotel was the art aspect. Every floor was decorated and showcased a unique artist, so that was cool. I checked out a couple floors before I realized I had things to do. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The rooms were very average. It feels like one of those hotels that was really cool maybe 10 years ago and has scars to prove it’s age. From scratched up walls to outdated electrical outlet placements. As an example, there aren’t any outlets by the bed, unless you move the nightstand from the wall. There’s a radio with USB outlets on it, which is fine if you’re using USB A/B, but now with USB C on the rise, that is starting to feel like the radios with the old iPod charging ports on them. The gym was small, but had a surprisingly good selection of gear to provide a full body workout. The location… I don’t know, I didn’t really find much of anything nearby, felt a little out of the way because there really weren’t any convenience stores nearby. There was a corner store a 10 minute walk away, but that was pretty much that. Couple restaurants nearby.

We had no electricity in our room. When we asked about what was going on, we were told general maintenance. We were not given any notice, not told sorry, not offered another room. The rest of the hotel had electricity. Was told they would comp us in the morning. This went on all night. We did get electricity before checking out. When checking out we did not get asked how our stay was nor did they apologize for inconvenience nor did they comp anything. We paid full price to sit in the dark. Would not recommend. Towels had other people's hair in them... gross!!

Clean hotel downtown lots of beautiful glass art. Bar staff really fun & took good care of us. 2 free drinks when u book with Orbitz. My friend had an amazing view better than mine but he got a more exp room. Furniture could be updated lots of scratches but I enjoyed my stay with hubs we had an excellent time wandering downtown & getting Thai food at galanga.. the beds weren't queen sz tho they were full size but we snuggle anyways so didn't matter too much. Parking is expensive for being in tacoma so I did street parking.

We overnighted, and were able to secure early check-in by calling ahead to ask about availability. Staff was friendly and helpful, the room was nice, and the bed comfortable. Hotel decor features glass artwork by local artisans. The elevators are fast. We had an east-facing room on the 11th floor, so we were perfectly privy to the sunrise, which happened to be stunning Sunday morning November 20. Just one suggestion from the perspective of a first-time guest: please put a sign(s) up in the parking area(s) directing guests to the lobby. We wound up at 2 service entrances before we finally got it right on the 3rd try.

Nice hotel, very modern, we stayed for one night. Staff in bit restaurant were great, very accomodating and nice. Unfortunately, in the morning, the power went out for 1 hour. When we called reception to ask what time it was estimated to be back on (it’s no one’s fault but we had a bday we were getting ready for so just wanted to know), the gentleman on the line sounded annoyed we had even called, didn’t apologize and said “it would be on in 10mins”. However, it wasn’t back on for another 30 minutes. He did then apologise when we checked out an hour later. But I would have preferred kindness in the beginning.

Really enjoyed my stay at the Murano. Beautiful lobby and loved checking out all the art throughout the hotel. The room was clean, stylish and comfortable. Great value and great location.

Hands down one of the nicest places I've ever stayed. I was on the 20th floor and I loved it. Absolutely loved it. The elevator was fast. The service there was amazing. The parking was convenient and the rooms were exquisite.

Breakfast at Bite was fantastic. Service is great very chill environment. We had the Hawaiian French toast and it is genius, and huckleberry pancakes were amazing. The coffee is delicious and strong. Sunrise was beautiful. The hotel has great views.

Really good experience... only stayed one night for business. Great, accommodating staff... very comfortable beds... love how each floor is themed to a specific artist... I stayed on the 7th floor and found the art uniquely interesting 😉. Only one restaurant was open but the food was perfect and the service couldn't have been better. Will definitely stay here again.

Avoid this hotel and stay at the Marriott instead. The service was so poor, I can't imagine any reason my or my group of coworkers would stay again. The hotel seemed nice until I got to my room. More of a 90's decrepit feel. First thing I noticed was the two foot hole in the blackout curtains that made it impossible to sleep in (I work nights). The fridge is shoved in a tiny cabinet that is too hot because of the components on the back of the fridge, so all my food spoiled within a day. Also no microwaves. The biggest issue I had was the hotel service or lack there of. They offered laundry services, next day return. I turned my laundry in, and two days later it was still not returned to me. I was forced to work in dirty clothes. When I asked the front desk about my clothes he responded, "some time it takes longer." I told him there was about $2500 of uniform items and he needs to find them. He made some calls and said house keeping would return them by evening. When I asked to receive a call on my cell when they were returned to my room, he responded with, "I can't, I get off in 15 minutes". They also would not send room service when scheduled with them. I returned in the morning to a bag of folded clothes. I had just OCP items, and they were all bleached. Absolutely ruined. I couldn't even wear them because of the bleachy stench. Avoid.

Key card issues. My room key literally stopped working multiple times during my stay and I would get stuck on the elevator, which already makes me nervous as it is. Room was absolutely not worth it. They need to fix those elevators.

It was good room. I lived in Tacoma all my life and my city can be a bit rough and worn. This being a 4 star hotel I figured would be a refreshing oasis within this city and I could feel it wasn't so bad. No when I entered the hotel I still felt I was in Tacoma. Immediately stepped into worn carpets to worn furnishings in the lobby. It was cool to hear my room includes access to a patron lounge which was to include snacks and beverages but we were in Tacoma where things come up missing. The lounge was empty every time I looked. My city did look good in the night lights it was a good view and a good room but was showing wear. Welcome to Tacoma.

Hotel Murano used to be a gem in the middle of downtown Tacoma. 5 years ago, this hotel was immaculate and made me want to go back, so I did. The hotel no longer has valet (you have to pay extra for parking), no room service, and no robes inside the room anymore. It was dusty over the TV, the light fixture hung down in the bathroom, and a bar was broken with glass busted inside the elevator. The bar staff were friendly, the art is beautiful, and the bed was comfy. Hands down Mariot prices for a Best Western stay. So sad Hotel Murano has lost its touch!

We stayed here on Friday. Hotel was nice and clean. However the power was out most of our stay we didn't get to enjoy our room. We asked for some compensation and have gotten the run around. 10/10 would not recommend

Its a great place, cozy clean rooms in the heart o down down ...I feel safe here you must have a room key to go anywhere in the elevator or use the stairs (except in case of fire) but mostly it's the front desk staff...always helpful and friendly and go above and beyond for their guests especially the gentleman that was working that night ...young guy, kinda light brown hair, glasses..looks Caucasian but is latino I think, I forget his name but he made the visit very enjoyable from the start. I will definitely be back.

Such a cute hotel. The heat didn't seem to be working in my room so I called the front desk and was promptly moved to another room with an even better view. Service there was great. Bedding was super soft and comfortable. My only complaint is the TVs seem weirdly dated and the TV in my first room had some dead pixels. Overall would highly recommend this place for the ambiance, service and location.
