The staff at this hotel is the most valuable asset. Super friendly and eager to help out and make your stay comfortable. Restaurant high quality and good choice of wines. Would have wanted a more Spanish oriented local dishes to choose from. Breakfast orderly made according to your choice, very good. So grateful that our dog was welcomed by the hotel. Very comfortable hotel in Spain, close to French border. Place when you can stay even for a one night with super restaurant serving dinner and delicious breakfast. Friendly to dogs. Helpful reception staff.

Loved the location, the attention of the staff, the food, also the looks of the hotel from the 60's or 70's. When we got to the lobby seems like a little updated which makes it retro but elegant, but when we got to our bedroom that spark of an updated old hotel disapears. Simple and clean, quite sad room, as the hotel still has 4* I expected at least slightly renovated rooms. We got room 310 and we can say there is a problem in the isolation as the entrance to our room smelled a lot when kitchen downstairs is working. Breakfast is great and El Motel is a gem of a restaurant, superb.

Outside traffic noise was horrendous, we had rooms at the rear and also the front of the building and we were surrounded by (incessant) traffic noise, extremely poor sound proofing. Dated hotel, would not recommend.

We stay in this Hotel frequently. The only reason not staying anywhere else is the location, approx. 5 min from the AP7. The rooms are terrible if you expect a clean, well housekeeping, no black Spanish hairs everywhere etc. We decided to book the best possible and most expensive room, only for our convenience and luckely this room is not used often, allowing things to be nice. Each time we stay there is something going on, the main elevator has been broken for 5 times in a row, using the service elevator as only option is an experience on its own. Bed not having blankets is one of the most positive flaws we can think of, last but not least, the breakfast itself is not buffet but a la carte, meaning you pay 2x the price of the regular breakfast until 2022. The service during the morning is superb, the lady deserves a serious PLUS++. So in resume, forget this hotel unless you are willing to clean before sleep (as we do now) but in any case : DONT use the frigde if your resistance is not optimum! I did not write our experience before in any hotel, but there is always something here...

Hotel Empordà is our #1 choice when staying in the region during summer festivals. Their restaurant is outstanding! I'm always sceptical about "hotel restaurants" but this one is an exception:) Also the breakfast, top quality products.The rooms are basic, but everything is clean and it's definitely value for money. Nice bonus - 2 EV chargers for free. Last but not least - friendly, professional staff at the hotel and at the restaurant, they remember you after 1year! Bottom line - solid positive experience over time, strongly recommended.

What is historical place. The siësta spot of dali . Architecture that is inspiring and dining that is outrageous. This really is a go to when crossing the border of spain

Everything about this cute unique hotel is awesome. I am staying there on my next trip.

Made a reservation for eating at 8pm in the evening. Was confirmed. Been there at 7:30pm and said I have a reservation in the restaurant for eating with a bigger group. The manager said it‘s not possible. The restaurant is closed in the evening. Only the bar is open. I asked again and told that we made a reservation for a big group to eat. He said no this is not possible. So we had to leave again. We waited outside for 30minutes in the cold to welcome the others. The guy who made the reservation went in and we were offered the already prepared table for us in the wine bar. I went in again and said: See! We had a reservation! He just answered: Maybe, but not in the restaurant. So he was still sticking to the story. This is not customer friendly at all. The food was great but the manager not at all. The waiters were also great. I give one star for the food and another for the waiters. The rest was too disappointing to give more.

Friendly welcome, good standard hotel. Comfortable Room had a balcony. Fabulous restaurant and breakfast ! Noisy neighbours spoiled an otherwise excellent stay. Returned and had a perfect stay! Thank you.

Great things are happening in this institute of Catalan cuisine. Jordi Subiros is more and more putting his mark on the kitchen while respecting the classics. Although elMotel is a classic, they stock very modern winemakers from the region and beyond. You can always discover something new and good here.

This is the most wonderful hotel I stayed at in Catalonia. My wife, our daughter of 4 months and I stayed here for a night on our way from Spain back to Switzerland, and we just loved the welcome, the amenities, and the personnel. We parked our car outside, making use of the EV charger, then checked into a very spacious room, and enjoyed an excellent breakfast in the breakfast room the following day. We simply only good things to say. The hotel is convenient, the people are friendly, and the setting is nice. Highly recommend!

I loved the Hotel Emporda - a beautifully preserved hotel, with traditional service and professional staff. We were just driving through, but extended our stay to 3 nights. Super restaurant, and lovely staff.

Perfect staff. Beautiful sixties interior. Good restaurant. All at a reasonable price. Especially when travelling a spot to charge human batteries

We loved the warm, polite and helpful reception staff both at arriving and checkout. They really show the class of this hotel. For the lovely receptionists, we can forget about the dated room. Nice balcony with good hill view. Bathroom was old but functional. The only thing I'd suggest to update the bed mattress. Overall, very good service for the price we paid. We'll come back to stay here next time we drive past Figueres.

Very good hotel, very nice people!

Classical high cuisine, attention to detail and attentive service. Everything at the 'motel' feels like it's straight from another time, when the food and the good service to the customers took the center stage instead of famous chefs and needless artifice. Here you will find a menu with local and french inspired dishes, classical, cooked to perfection. The wine selection is varied and has good options to accompany all dishes. Not to miss are the cheese and dessert carts; something you rarely find anymore. Overall, everything in the 'motel' creates a very enjoyable experience.

Rooms and hotel are clean, pillows were very good. The breakfast was alright, but we each ordered 2 croissants of which one was fresh and the other one tasted like it was made the day before.

Very friendly staff. Very nice rooms. Dinner was splendid and breakfast too (you can choose menus or from the card). Everything was amazing. Worth the 4 stars and worth the price!
