I'd easily recommend this trip to anyone! We did the river safari (taking the scenic river tour, visited a village and finally got back on the river to head home). Our boat driver and tour guide was Fabulous Freddy. He was very kind, taught us a lot, answered all our questions, with his Fijian humor on full display. The scenery along the river is absolutely spectacular, serene, and beautiful! The village we stopped off at was Vunaqoru. We partook in a yaqona (kava) ceremony with the elders and village chief then experienced a short tour of the village. Then we had a meal while listening to music and we got to get our dance on. As the elected "chief" representing our tour group, I gave a short 1 minute speech just thanking them immensely for their generous hospitality and that it was an absolute honor and privilege to be able to experience their village. On the boat ride back, we got to help some village children cross the river... we spared them from having to swim the river despite that being their typical daily crossing to school. Captain Freddy took some action-packed turns up and down the river and on the way he did did about five 360's that got everyone wet. If you're looking for an educational tourist experience that will also be fun, sign up for this and book early because they can tend to sell out. Travel tips: 1) be aware of proper dress attire when visiting a village; 2) bring a change of clothes and a bag to carry the wet clothes if you plan on doing something in town afterwards; and 3) if you're able, bring $100 Fiji, to leave as a gift to the village you visit. $100 contributes to the village and is a very kind gesture to help their people out.

Absolutely the most memorable thing we did during our visit to Fiji. We went up the river with Captain Laps (the best captain!!) to visit Nalebaleba and had a great time learning about Fiji and the villages. Got drenched on the way back doing spins in the jet boat which was awesome! Would definitely recommend as the #1 thing to do while visiting Fiji. P.S. I hope the chiefs will end up realizing that animal cruelty/neglect should be left in the past along with the already abandoned cannibalism and help their people move towards better treatment of animals.

Review for cave safari by this company. Wonderful experience. Had Saddam and Moses, they were both amazing. Started off in Sigatoka town, they have parking facilities(not the best tho, looks illegal, on the lawn median strip). Driven to starting point by company bus, commentary along the way by bus driver. Smooth check-in, transported across the river. Very welcoming guides, Saddam the cave guide and Moses village mediator (offroad driver). Then enjoy a drive on the special safari vehicle through multiple villages and the forest with friendly locals and magnificent views along the way until you reach the village of the chief responsible for the cave. Kava ceremony mediated with chief by Moses. Once approved by Chief, Saddam brings you to the cave. Cave itself is massive. Saddam a local villager will give an uncensored detailed tour/history of cave. Food provided post tour. Recommended trip despite the high price. Ask for Saddam and Moses if you are taking this trip.( someone please buy Saddam some slippers)

We pre-booked this tour on advice from our travel agent and we weren't disappointed. It was a brilliant day out, with a well run and organised crew and staff, it was exciting, informative and fascinating. We did the jet boat ride up the Sigatoka River and the Kava ceremony and lunch at a local village. It is a must do cultural experience when in Fiji. Thanks to Capt. Jack, crew and the villagers for making our trip to Fiji unforgettable.

What an experience. Fini was our jet boat captain. She was brilliant. The way they manoeuvre through the river is a testament to their skills. Visited a village. A must for any visitor.

Fantastic trip. River safari great run with our Captain Lepe. Informative and entertaining. Be prepared to get wet The village visit was humbling. Simplistic lifestyle at its best. You could see the love the elders had for all the people, from very young to old. We enjoyed the Kava ceremony. Interesting drink to say the least. Not to everyone's taste, but it certainly lived up to its relaxing reputation. The lunch had plenty variety to enjoy and taste. One not to miss. Large portion goes back to the village. A gift is welcome not expected. We gave money others a football. Ladies need to wear modest clothing and have to wear a sarong which is given by tour operators.

Thank you Captain Jack, from Sigatoka jetboat river safari, we had a fantastic day. We went to one of the local villages, was welcomed by the Chief, tried KAVA not as bad as they say, dancing with the people from the village and had lunch there also. Definitely a great experience, thank you again.
