A must do!!! Easy walk along the coast for an hour, cross an easy river. Wear sturdy shoes that can get wet. At the end is the most beautiful waterfall. Some swimming needed to get to it. Bring your water case for your camera. The villagers were so cute. We hired a local boat to come get us at the end and took us back to the main beach by village.

Lavena coastal walk was one my husband and I's favorite day trips on our honeymoon. We walked along the coast with a tour guide, through the village, rainforest and finished at Wainibau Falls. It was a beautiful waterfall that we enjoyed swimming in for quite some time. After the walk/hike/swim, a small private boat picked us up and took us to see multiple waterfalls all along the East coast of the island. It was a truly incredible and unforgettable day. The best part is that it was completely private. Just our local tour guide, my husband and I. It was magical.

A must do when in Tavenuie. The water falls are breath taking. Taking a boat ride you will be able to so many of these water falls. There about 200 of these. There are hiking trails that will take you to different water falls. And each one is so stunning. Be prepared for a walk and take your water. Trails are fairly well kept but few places a bit challenging.

The bridge is down so you have to do a river crossing to get to the waterfall. If it has been raining it can be dangerous, waist high when we went. Also, this is the end of the hike, not the start. You park at the start of Lavena village and hike in to this point.

Fantastic walk along the beach and through rainforest. The walk is warm and it is rewarding to get to the end where you'd have to swim to the waterfalls. If you manage to climb the left hand one you can slid down and use it as a rock slide! Really good fun! Bring a go pro oot waterproof case for the phone.

The walk is excellent, the reviews here are testament to that. I wanted to add that we stayed at the Lavena Lodge for a night after the walk. We were very well looked after by the village, the lodge is right on the beach, amenities were basic but more than adequate for us. There is a shower and you can use the lodges kitchen. It can be difficult to make a booking but we just showed up and it was no problem. The price was $30 a night per person, meals which are cooked in the village can be organized for $10. We would have loved to stay longer, it was one of the highlights of our trip.

The walk is beautiful. It starts at the end of the road in the village. Entrance fee is 30 FJD pp, you can pay 20 extra for a guide, but honestly you don't need one, the trail is very easy and straightforward. The whole walk is 9,5 Km return, it took us 3h there and back without rushing. After 45 mins, you reach a river crossing where you will get your feet wet, and cross the river while holding on to a rope. After 1h, the trail leaves the beach and climbs to the waterfall, for about 15-20 mins. To get to the waterfall itself you have to walk or swim in the river, the trail doesn't reach it all the way (you can see it from the end of the trail some distance away). The swim is really nice and refreshing. Bring a few dollars with you and buy a coconut from local folks in one of the tiny settlements along the trail, you'll have a refreshing drink and they'll appreciate the income.

Incredible. Hard to think of a more beautiful part of the world. We did the short hike in to the waterfall and the boat ride along the coast exploring.. amazing!

It's hard to do the walk in one and a half hours as you will stop along the way to admire the beautiful surrounds; shrubs, farms, the beach, the views along the coast and the sight and sound of huge waves crashing on the reef. The culmination of the walk is the magestic waterfall which is Magical. Totally worth it. Will do it again!!

It was a very nice Waterfall at the end of the coastal walk. It took us about 4.30 hours for both ways and we had enough time to hang out at the Waterfall.

Beautiful, easy coastal walk with a nice waterfall and swimming hole at the end. It took us around 3 hours return including break at the waterfall. We had to pay $30 per person (the money goes to the village). You can take the bus there but not back and there are no taxis hanging around anywhere near Lavena so you either have to hitchhike back or organise a taxi in advance.

Very worthy. While discovering Bouma National Park you support local communities. Don't miss the nature wonder waiting for you at the end of the track.

Beautiful walk around the coast and to Wainibau waterfall. You can meet some local kids witch are really friendly an there is always fun with them.

Very hot in February, but it made it that much more enjoyable to swim in the waterfall area! This was the highlight of our trip! Take water with you to drink. The most difficult part was crossing a river where there is no longer a bridge, just a rope for support (not sure the rope actually helps matters - much easier at low tide).
