Hole in the wall style Mexican restaurant with no nonsense food. Easy to understand menu with daily specials that stay the same from week to week, based on the day of the week. The employees are friendly and efficient. Food comes out quickly and is nice and hot. The food is fresh and delicious. A particular favorite is the asada quesadillas. Amazing cheese and meat tucked in a piping hot soft flour tortilla.

There aren't many places open on Sunday in the Provo area, but luckily we found this spot. My husband and I shared: - Al Pastor Quesadilla - Al Pastor, Campechano, Asada, and Chorizo Gringa Tacos The quesadilla was so good that we ordered a second one. The tacos were pretty good, but I would probably get regular tacos next time. The cheese covered up the flavor of the meat.

Don Joaquin’s is the best taco shop in Utah. These tacos are a fantastic deal for your money and the restaurant has a fun atmosphere. I’ve never been disappointed with Don Joaquin’s.

My go to taco place for affordable, delicious tacos. Only problem I have is with their topping bar sometimes being unfresh. Like some days their onion and cilantro have distorted colors... Hopefully they could occasionally check and maintain the freshness of toppings.

Came for lunch and I hate to admit that it wasn’t memorable. It pains me to say! The tacos were okay, tortilla was good, toppings were also plentiful but the star of a taco is the meat and that’s where it was lacking in flavor. Something was missing, the sazon of a taco when done right is unforgettable and that’s the thing is these tacos were forgettable. The horchata was good the Jamaica was too sweet. We ordered a side of rice and that was probably the best food item we had. If you’re looking for place that can fit lots of people, open on Sunday’s and tacos at a decent price this is a good spot to go for.

For some reason their tacos don’t sit well with me but all my friends love them! I get the quesadilla every time now and it’s so good! Very cheesy, delicious quesadilla. The type of quesadilla you actually cannot make at home. Their water tastes pretty bad so it’s probably worth it to spring for paying for a drink.

It's worth a shot. The food is really good and made fast. The atmosphere is quite noisy. Lots of family's go there or big group of friends (3-8).

Very good food. I highly recommend this place for casual eats. The sauces are some of the best I've had, especially the green guac sauce. Expect to drop $8-12 per person. The main draw is the excellent food. If you're looking for delicious, Don Joaquin Street Tacos is a great option. But it might not be a good fit for some situations: - Picky eaters who need lots of options (menu is tasty but small) - You want ambiance (the space is made for eating delicious tacos, not for a prom date) - You want a quiet or private space (it's packed and echoes)

I wish I could give the place a better review as I'm a huge taco fan. The salsa and topping bar are nice, plenty of good options. The tacos were mediocre and rather dry. Even the chorizo was somehow absolutely grease free, which was very sad, but let me know this isn't just an off day for the joint. The beans and rice were also pretty bland.

There are a plethora of places to eat in the Provo area; however, this is one that you should definitely visit! The food stands for itself as authentic Mexican cuisine. In addition, they had a nice selection of help-yourself fountain drinks including sodas from the heart of Mexico. My only [small] complaint is that there wasn't a mild Pico de Gallo selection on the salsa bar. The friendly young man who took our order let me practice speaking Spanish with him. The kitchen was set up such that you could see the cooks preparing the flavorful dishes. My wife and daughter both had the Bigoton and they were impressed with the amount and taste of the meat on their tacos (2 tacos each of 2 different meats). I had the Al Pastor Burrito with sides of beans and rice. We also shared a side of fresh pineapple. All were delicious!

Excellent tacos. Nice salsa bar. Fair prices. Only tiny complaint is that they sold me jamaica and then told me they were out. It was very early in the evening so no excuse to be out. But they quickly replaced it with horchata which was very good. I'd absolutely go back when I'm in town again.

Not many places get a straight 5 from me but this place is legit! I've had lots of experience with Hispanic culture and these people make some great food and have a very authentic atmosphere!

Very good food! I almost felt like I was eating in Mexico. Was very busy but I got my food quick. Lots of taquerias are just so so but this place is really good!

For about a decade this place has held the title of the BEST tacos in town. I do not say that lightly. Everything is really great from their gringas, to their paletas and quesodillas. I have not tried their sopas, and the Burritos could have a little less rice I think but the flavor is wonderful, and the authenticity is tasted and felt. I would reccomend the daily specials or campechano tacos, suaderos tacos, a paleta (fruit popsicle) and use the salsa bar. Caution ⚠️ the onions and pineapple and diced habeneros in them.

This place is so authentic and delicious! Try the Jamaica Fresca!! And get the tacos!! Their prices are so good, you get a lot of bang for your buck! Just know that the salsas are spicier than they may seem! Be sure to try them first before dousing your taco!

Delicious Street tacos. Always come for taco Tuesday. Get any meat, it's all good. Last time I had a problem with my payment, he was very patient while I figured that out. Always have to come grab chicken tacos for my dad while he's doing his chemo at Provo hospital.

I have been coming here for 6 years. Hands down best tacos in the area, best price for the best lunch. Grab them late at night or midday. You’ll never be disappointed. This is also the best don Joaquin’s of all Utah locations.

Went there with my friends. Had a good time and good food! Tacos are always a classic but during the week they have a special every day. Good place to go eat!
