The interior is nice, the service is typical of Finnish standards, basically no service and often seem as rude. The pricing also very Finnish, which again is over priced. Baked potato with a topping and salad for 11.50E! A potato costs 50c, electrify to heat it 0.50c max, some coleslaw and feta slices, 1e and the staff, rent and tax gives them a rather large profit. Not even a smile. Staff dropping glasses, cutlery on the floor, yet it probably doesn't make a difference in what I say, as they have visitors streaming in. Two menus, one for adults, one for children. Children had a classic finish dish of fried small fish, but each had the bones still in it. Although they maybe seen as small, I'm not sure kids would enjoy eating them (see pictures) tartar sauce want that good according to the child. They offer two possible dishes that vegetarians can eat, baked potato and savoury waffle. Each only had the toppings as a choice, crayfish, chicken and mango, or feta and coleslaw. For a hotel kitchen and the limited selection has it pro and cons. It seemed that they had the flexibility to offer dietary requirements based on these toppings, although they are were limited. Location is nice, but other than that, could be better in terms of pricing and service.

Ihana, tunnelmallinen ja rauhallinen paikka pysähtyä niin kahville kuin ruokailemaan. Suolaiset letut ja lohikeitto oli täydellinen lounasvalinta! 👌 Perfect place to see old Savonlinna área, have a cup of tea or coffee with great selección of pastries. Also perfect place to eat fried vendaces, baked potatoes or hamburgers with cosy atmosphere! Uusi taidenäyttely katseltavissa taas. ❤️

Great family run restaurant/cafe and hotel. Friendly owners, tasty food and brilliant cakes. All made on premises or the family bakery in town. The decor was just lovely, wall paper had a Art Deco feel about it and made for a lovely atmosphere. Great find, well worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Breakfast at Saima Kahvila is a very pleasant experience. Great choice of pastries and hot drinks. Beautiful stylish diningrooms. Atmosphere of an old cozy house. Quick friendly service. Loved it and would be happy to come back.

Kaunis kattaus, asiantunteva ja hyvin ystävällinen esittely iltapäiväteen historiasta ja pöydälle katetuista monipuolisista, runsaista ja herkullisista sormileivistä, pienistä, makeista leivoksista ja skonsseista itsetehdyin hilloin juhlisti kauniin kesäpäivämme Savonlinnassa ! Menimme suurin odotuksin rapeiden muikkujen toivossa Saimaan, mutta pahaksi onneksi keittiö oli juuri mennyt ruuhkan takia kiinni klo 15 tai niin meille ainakin sanottiin jotta tilaukset saataisiin kiinni. Yksi tarjoilija lupasi meille, että voisimme ottaa lohikeittoa mutta loppujen lopuksi sekin oli liikaa luvattu. Keittiön piti aueta uudestaan n. 15.30. Kysyimme emmekö voi maksaa esim. muikkuannokset tai keiton ja jäädä odottamaan n. 10-15 min.että keittiö aukeaa. Tämä ei kuulemma onnistunut. Lopuksi päädyimme ottamaan kahvit ja mozzarellaleivät vitriinistä, mutta ne eivät enää pelastaneet pilalle mennyttä tunnelmaa. Ikävä maku jäi koko paikasta, eikä hlökunta edes pahoitellut tilannetta. Ihmetyttää, että keittiö joudutaan sulkemaan keskellä kiireisintä heinäkuun sesonkia. Asiakaspalvelussa ja asiakkaiden kohtelussa on kehittämisen varaa.

delicious but somewhat pricey. small minus for pouring beer automaticly to a glass without asking a preference (thus making the local craft beer bland and warm), or serving the bottle along with an empty glass like is a custom, and the girls said no to a request for a new beer in a bottle.

What a fantastic place! Absolutely brilliant staff, who were very accommodating and friendly. They have fantastic location and stunning rooms to spend a night in! Would highly recommend the food as well, which was all home made and at a very reasonable price. It was so good we even came back for afternoon tea/high tea the following day! Blown away by this fantastic place! Would highly recommend.

Filling lunch, even kids dishes were plentiful. Well flavoured salad was included in the alacarte items.

So beautiful and atmospheric place. Breakfast felt like such a luxury. Located in the old Savonlinna very close to the Olavinlinna castle. Very much worth a visit (and a stay for the night if you can). I hope I will be able to come again!

The interior of the cafe is very tastefully done and the place all in all is very atmospheric. If you just like to hang out, this is a beautiful place to do so. The bakery products didn't impress though. Mid-high priced and a bit disappointing in taste (as in, felt like they used margarine instead of butter type of things). It's an okay place, but we just expected more.
