This is the kind of joint you want to lie about so other humans won’t find it and eventually ruin it or at least my “it”. Cool little neighborhood spot to be you at. Great staff, reasonable prices and a burger your mouth will water for. The Caribou Tavern is a bar first but if you came to eat remember they have a strict dress code, reservations aren’t accepted and bring your A game if ya have one. As a bonus you can do a load of whites nexts door. The gentle cycle will keep ‘em white longer except for those blood stains and whatever else that is……I’ll be back because gems like these are few and far between. Enjoy….

I love this place! The atmosphere is so cool. The burgers are amazing, and the bartender is one of the best! We live down the street, so we’ll definitely be back.

If you want a very tasty, juicy bar burger, the Caribou Tavern is the place to go! The bartender served us the cheeseburgers with a side of french fries and everything was cooked to perfection, even the bun was toasted nicely, however, the burgers could’ve been made a little larger, they were a little too small. The bartender Winslow is an awesome bartender and very friendly. He did well working the bar solo and on a busy night! The Caribou Tavern overall has great food and drinks and is a pretty cool place to hang out but not a lot of room. It’s like a long hallway, but we will still return!!!!!

Local bar with a small flattop and fryer for some food. Good beer, good food and just a nice place to relax. Don't expect anything fancy

I was looking for a place to eat the other night and this dive bar fit the bill. God damn the ‘bou burger! It literally melts in your mouth. Great food! Huge selection of beer, even a few on tap. The bartenders are super friendly and will make conversation with anyone. Loved the ambiance, which is tavernesque. Plus you can do a load of laundry next door. Randy Dan D has the right of it: this is the kind of bar you don’t want to tell your hipster friends about...

A local legend. Friendly folk fine fare and plenty of libations to please any palate. This was my favorite bar in the city when I lived here and I'm glad to see it hasn't lost any of its charm.

Amazing dive. Bartender doubles as the cook behind the bar! Their drinks are stiff, delicious and cheap! They also had trivia going on one of the T.V. screens which was a blast. They have a dart board as well, but it wasn’t on where we were there as the place is small and it sits right in line with some of the bar seats. You won’t regret stopping here!

This is the ultimate in Wisconsin's local neighborhood tavern. The service was spectacular. The bartender was top notch, with over 25 years experience running the show, ans was very attentive to everyone in the place. The selections of sauces for the food was extensive, and all were very flavorful, particularly the mango habeñero sauce.

Great burgers in a fun dive bar. I had the bou burger loaded with curds. Burger was 1/3 lb and a perfect med rare. Very good curds too.

This unassuming little glass of booze is the Titos gimlet I ordered from Scott and I have to tell you it is the best vodka gimlet I've ever had. Craft Cocktail Extraordinaire! 5 stars!

Good bar food. We went there for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The service was fast and the burgers tasty. Not our first time here as we've eaten here in the past. Definitely a place we return to with a low key atmosphere. Also, you can sit outside on the picnic tables or dine at the bar. Small place for small crowds but does get busy!

Hole in the wall galley bar with a lot of texture, townies - a true dive. Food is great and cheap greasy bar food. Drawback is a couple bartenders who are distracted and lackadaisical and serve people on random order, get in chats while ignoring patrons and play on their phones. Tap beer would be a nice edition.

Absolutely classic near Eastside bar and grill. It usually offers a huge variety of people from all walks of life drinking together. And the old school track menu board? Use it to order some food, especially the burgers. 5 stars for being exactly what you'd think it'd be for so long.

Good service and food, even when they were busy...6:30 on a Sunday evening...and there was only a stool or two empty. Definitely on our radar and will stop again when in Madison and want a good burger.

Great lunch! Wednesday was the lasagna special! Huge piece, 3 slices of garlic bread for $10. Will definitely go back.

Hit up this little place at the end of September when in town for a wedding. Great service, excellent burgers, and cold beer. By far the best dive bar in Madison!

Great little place. The bartender did an amazing job serving the entire place and cooking for everyone. Food was good and will be back for another round or two soon.

What an adorable little rustic place for a meal! They've been here for quite a long time to, and look exactly how they did years ago. Food is good, service is great, drinks are exquisite. (Highly recommend their bloody mary. Not spicy, and not salty!)
