I
have
never
been
so
insulted
in
my
life
as
when
I
went
to
Community
Medical
Group
in
Kendall.
I
am
a
Physician
Associate
with
a
Doctorate
in
Medical
Sciences
and
work
as
an
Associate
Professor
and
FIU
College
of
medicine.
My
clinic
serves
uninsured
populations
in
West
Kendall
and
I
do
a
lot
of
advocacy
work
with
patients
as
well
as
work
to
improve
health
literacy
in
our
community.
I
had
a
particular
patient
who
finally
got
insurance
however
he
had
a
hard
time
finding
a
PCP
who
accepted
his
insurance.
I
helped
him
call
the
insurance
company
and
we
were
able
to
find
Community
Medical
Group.
We
made
an
appt
and
the
patient
asked
me
to
accompany
him
to
help
him
explain
all
his
medical
needs.
I
showed
up
with
his
records
and
good
intentions
only
to
be
treated
like
a
criminal.
I
was
not
allowed
to
go
inside
with
my
patient,
who
was
there
in
person
and
requesting
my
presence.
I
was
told
by
the
office
manager
and
the
CMP
of
the
group
that
no
outside
doctors
were
allowed
at
the
patient's
visit.
This
is
a
violation
of
my
patient's
rights
as
well
as
poor
medical
practice.
The
particular
patient
had
been
seen
by
multiple
doctors
in
the
past
and
had
fragmented
care.
I
have
ben
caring
for
him
for
6
months
at
my
free
clinic
while
helping
him
access
health
insurances
and
the
specialists
he
needs.
Community
Medical
Group
should
have
been
open
to
my
help
and
collaboration
to
provide
the
patient
with
the
care
he
needed.
TO
ALL
PATIENTS....PLEASE
MAKE
SURE
TO
ADVOCATE
FOR
YOURSELVES
AND
KNOW
WHAT
YOUR
HEALTHCARE
NEEDS
ARE!
