Great trails to go hiking, walking, or for a run. There is a beautiful butterfly house and a building to see turtles, fish, and insects. Plus, they have such wonderful events they host. You won't be disappointed! Also, in the winter you can rent snowshoes (for free) and go snowshoeing or just winter walking/hiking! So much fun :)

My family loves going here, it is one of our favorites. It has so many trails that are well groomed and have maps along the way. The treehouse is so cool, and we love the nature center, the butterfly tent, the hands on garden area, catching frogs by the pond, and looking at the goldfish. We love attending story-time here and some of the other events they hold. There is so much to do and enjoy here for all ages!

Another gem of the Genesee Parks and Recreation. Well maintained, clean with friendly staff. It has been a few years since my last visit. It was a dusk tour where we walked through the trails ending with a star lit lightning bug show in the meadows. Great time for the kids, family, lovers and friends. Bird watching, deer, frogs and dragonflies in the ponds. The flowers, plants and trees are so beautiful and mother nature is at it's finest all year long. Being so close, just down the road for everyone to enjoy we are truly blessed.

For-Mar is always a fun place to visit when we're in Burton visiting our family. The wooded trail with the bridges is a beautiful walk and we also really enjoyed watching the fish and snapping turtles in the pond. I saw a big beautiful crane too. Their indoor exhibit is very nice and the kids loved the bee hive and seeing all the animals in the aquariums and terrariums. I also really enjoyed walking around the grassy area, visiting the butterfly house, and letting our kids run around.

Such a fun place to go just to walk some trails or walk around the inside and learn about animals. No dogs aloud. Small kid friendly.

Love this place, the scenery, nature, wildlife, the butterfly house, walking the trails. This place brings happiness and serenity. Also, the bathrooms with actual toilets are always clean, even the portapotties are clean too. 🙂

4.5/5.0 I've learned to enjoy my tranquility while in nature, and like the 2.5k reviews imply, there are plenty of people here. It is super family friendly, and also the most easily navigated reserve I've been to so far. Two small doe did scare while I was walking and taking pics, so that was recorded and also my favorite part! Second time here since spring and definitely going again 🤙

I absolutely love this place. It's always such a relaxing experience. I'm so happy to live in a community that has a nature preserve, I think it's very important. I highly recommend coming to check out the tree house if nothing else. Great place to picnic, also!

The preserve is very well kept, and every path is marked and easy to follow. Benches are conveniently placed throughout, and even on a hot day, there's more than enough trees to keep you cool. There's a little something for everyone, and for the 6 miles I walked, the sights never got old.

Always a good place to walk! Different types of trails through different landscapes: woodlands, open fields, bogs, etc. LOTS of fauna on view and interesting local flora. Stop in at the Visitor Center! Knowledgeable, friendly staff, and interesting exhibits. Also a little Library--bring your books!

We had an amazing day, thanks to Carissa, who went above and beyond answering questions, opening the tree house and telling us all fun stories. She is the best! Thank you Carissa!!!

For-Mar is a breath of fresh air! I took my Family this past Sunday! The park and butterfly home and tree house were beautiful. I can't say enough about the warm knowledgeable Staff such welcoming persons. The staff made our time there a great Family adventure and educational session about butterfly's and a fabulous memory was made. My granddaughter went home with a caterpillar! Thank you and see you next Spring!

There's a lot to love. The tree house, the butterfly house, the gardens, the bee hives, and the clean trails have been great learning tools and conversations with my kids. Inside the main building has a lot to offer. Native wildlife, natural history, things for kids to touch, grab, see, and explore. Wonderful place to peacefully hike by yourself, or meander as a family. I've enjoyed a number of family picnics here as well as played a bit of soccer with the kids in the larger fields. I can't express enough how valuable a place like this to our community and the next generation. Keep up the outstanding work!

Okay so Flint is not a popular tourist destination that said this place was a hidden gem. If you can't see the beauty in these pictures I feel for you. Nice hiking very relaxing

For-Mar is a beautiful hidden gem in Genesee County. They put on really great events. Took my daughter to the Monarch Festival and came home with a Monarch caterpillar to raise. The butterfly house there is beautiful. No cost to visit unless you are attending an event, there might be a fee. Will definitely be back!

Was my 1st time going and found it to be a beautiful park with some wonderful trails. The butterfly house was so lovely and may have been my favorite part. I highly recommend a visit

beautiful park, great for doing a photo session in the fall, it has trails, the place is big, I went around 5:30 pm and I didn't have time to look at everything, but I loved what I saw, I'll go again soon, just that earlier.

The preserve was beautiful, but recent flooding made much of it inaccessible. I will definitely be planning a return trip to check out some of the trails I wasn’t able to see on today’s visit.

Well maintained park and trails. Plenty of open space and public restrooms in visitor building, plus port-o-potties. The Pavillion is very clean and in a nice location to the butterfly garden and nature pond. The tree house was closed when we were there, but it was very cool to walk the ramps and look around the outside. Lots of turltes and coy at this park too. We had a perfect weather day of sunny 74° and low humidity.

The park is still a great place to visit. But I miss the arbor by the front lake (with the willow tree) and the split rail fence by the parking lot 😢. My kids have taken photos there since preschool. Wanted grad photos with the same props.

Absolutely beautiful landscape. Well taken care of with lots of natural beauty to see. There are tons of deer and turkeys, who are conditioned to humans being near so they are ready to say hi! You could spend hours walking the trails. There's bridges and even a cute little tree house. Would highly recommend for any nature lover or someone needing peace and solitude.

I always see such beautiful things when I am visiting. Went for a nature trail walk today I believe it was #2 out of the 5 they are having and needless to say I had a blast! However, I did learn that in order to keep up with my elders I'm going to have to take up speed walking. 😅 The guides did a fantastic job of explaining not only things that are happening currently but telling us of things that had occurred in the past as well. All in all I always highly recommend For-Mar.
