Hidden little local museum with amazing well preserved collection from former railway station together with one railway line (not in operation since 50's) There's main building with ticket sales room, waiting room, public toilets, central switchyard, coffee house, outdoor picnic seating area and loads of vintage advertising. From time to time, local community is organising meetings, events connected with exhibitions or food. Whole place is well maintained and you can feel history everywhere. Love it!

Beautiful old railway station on the Wirral Way at Hadlow. It's great to see it still as it would have been when it was closed. Perfect place to sit outside for a coffee, tea or slice of cake. There's a free carpark beside it.

Lovely location, with a brilliant cafe selling tasty homemade cake. A good starting point for exploring the Wirral way and walking to Parkgate. It took little over an hour each way with plenty of benches on route, ideal to take in the scenery and appreciate the natural environment.

This is such a brilliant location! Check out the website for Sunday Batch Day… we’ll worth putting in the diary as the volunteers serve delicious bacon batches and homemade cakes on the platform with some inside seating too. A retro retreat!

What a little gem of a place, I can't believe as a local to Wirral I've taken so long to pay it a visit. Well done to The Friends of Hadlow Road railway station for the excellent job they do of maintaining it. You can see it was a labour of love. There is even a little cafe to have a coffee and cake. And not forgetting the lovely walk along the Wirral circular trail.

Fantastic piece of history. A must visit on the Wirral Way. A disused railway line that's now a walking/cycling path. The old station is perfectly preserved. If you go do go in the station ticket office .

Nice place to start a walk. Limited parking and gets full at weekends. Cafe and toilets on site. Ideal location for railway enthusiasts to see how a station was back in the 50's. Don't wait too long for the train as it won't be coming

Great place to just park up, enjoy a walk and take in the beauty! Smallish car park, but I always manage to get a space. Lovely collection of old railway signage and other memorabilia dotted around too.

A little bit of history. Harlow Road has been restored as it was when the last train went through in 1952. The restoration was completed by the local villagers and this story is available in the ticket office. There is a cafe which serves teas and light snacks. The cafe staff were lovely and friendly. Contactless payment in the cafe. The station is set in time which is what its supposed to be. Fantastic.

Perfect rest stop for cyclists on the wirral way. A trip back in time as the station has been preserved and is basically as it was back in 1956. New outdoor cafe on platform with great service.

Hadlow Road Station is a gem to visit. The kids loved exploring the old station, junction house and of course "playing on the tracks". Run by the friends of hadlow road, the station is clean, safe and spotless public toilets which are a bonus when on a long cycle or walk along The Wirral Way. Recommended visit.

Lovely to see the care taken to maintain the station in its original condition. And it only costs 40 shillings to trespass on the railway!

Hadlow Road train station is truly a hidden gem, and I couldn't be more thrilled to stumble upon it during my recent visit. The station itself exudes a charming vintage ambiance, taking you back in time to when railways were a vital part of daily life. But what truly made my visit memorable was the Friends of Hadlow Road Pop-up Cafe and their wonderful breakfast. The Friends of Hadlow Road Pop-up Cafe is a delightful addition to this historic station. As soon as I entered, I was greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. The cafe itself is a charming spot, with a rustic decor that complements the station's nostalgic feel perfectly. Now, let's talk about the breakfast – it was nothing short of spectacular! The menu offered a range of options, but I couldn't resist trying their bacon batch. It was a hearty and satisfying, cooked to perfection. From the crispy bacon to the perfectly buttery bap. What sets this cafe apart, aside from the mouthwatering food, is the passion and dedication of the staff. They are not only skilled in the kitchen but also genuinely friendly and attentive to their customers' needs. Especially when you consider they are volunteers. Whether you're a train enthusiast or simply looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a scrumptious breakfast, Hadlow Road train station and the Friends of Hadlow Road Pop-up Cafe are a must-visit. It's a unique experience that combines history, hospitality, and culinary excellence. I can't wait to return for another delightful breakfast at this charming station cafe.

Had a hot chocolate, and cake from the pop-up cafe on the railway station..before taking a circular walk with my grandson from the carpark which leads on to the wirral way, then taking the path which leads into willaston village, then back to where we started. The station was in use up until 1956, since then it is now used as a visitor centre, which attracts plenty of visitors, and to the rear has a small carpark.

My 19-year-old son and I came here on a nostalgia trip. We used to come here when he was little, and he'd spend ages pretending he was a train driver ! On our return visit, there was a cafe - it was a freezing cold day, so we will revisit this in the summer. It's so well maintained, and the ticket office looks fab. We were disappointed that we couldn't see into the signal box like we used to do - ? Why. Worth a visit

Good place to have a break before finishing your walk on the Wirral way. Shops are available 400 m away in Williston. The outdoor museum brings one back in time when a railway connected London to Hooton to West Kirby. Which is now a footpath.
