We visited this tiny speakeasy on the last night of our trip to Florence. This is a fantastic concept -- a really personalized experience from Stefano for each and every drink. This speakeasy felt more authentic than any others that I've visited, when answering the door, you're met with suspicion until you can assure him you have not been followed. We were seated in the front and were quickly provided water. Stefano then came over and did a short interview with each of us and selected a drink. All of us were quite happy with the resulting cocktails -- they are very much classic, with some unique, modern twists. It's clear that Stefano is incredibly passionate about drinks and spirits as he shared lots of interesting information about what we were drinking. The only downside to this place is the speed to service: Stefano does it all and as a result when it's busy you might be waiting a bit between rounds.

Probably the coolest bar I've ever been to. Good luck with the quiz! Don't break character and don't say any names!!! Don't give up if you don't get in on the first try. It took my group of 3 people 3 attempts and about 45mins of waiting. Don't come with a group bigger than 6. Even a group of 4 is pushing it. Enjoy the experience and bring a deck of cards if you have one.

Worst hospitality and bar I’ve ever come across in Florence/ in my life. Guy in the entrance was plainly lying into our face and denying entry (3 girls, not drunk whatsoever, just looking for a nice drink/ aperitivo). It’s our 4th time in Florence and there are plenty of nice mixology bars in the city - please skip this one and check out other bars with nice hosts!!!

Visiting Vanilla Club was a highlight of our visit to Florence. Once you locate this joint, learn the rules, pass the entrance exam, and get yourself in (half the people we were waiting at the door with did not pass), you are in for a delight. I love the rigor required to enter. You are warmly greeted by Stefano, and ushered into his magical, time-period Speakeasy. The details of this spot are on point - with vintage 20s decor, prohibition era music, and beautiful glassware. Stefano will sit down, listen to your cocktail preferences, and concoct you a unique beverage specific to your liking. I loved the drinks he made me. We had a wonderful time here - Stefano encouraged guests to speak to each other and we quickly befriended two other couples who were also on holiday. We ended up staying here for four hours until 3 AM, enjoying Stefano’s clever, custom cocktails and delighting in the company of other guests. This was a special experience, and I hope to be back one day soon.

Took a few tries, but we got in and Stefano was amazing. Great tea, great company. Would definitely go back - only bad part was that they didn't serve any alcohol

From the states and on honeymoon with my beautiful wife. Walking down the road having no idea where the place was and saw lights on. Stood across the street for a minute and a well dressed gentleman shouted at us from a warm looking place. We are from Florida and we're very cold. After myself saying I'm sorry, I don't understand, the fellow shouted"do you want something from me?" rather aggressively. I said I'm looking for a speakeasy and apparently that's a big no no. I'm hoping we get another chance as we have a limited time here. Unfortunately we don't have any more late nights available. 😕 The place sounds great but I was very disheartened as we've gotten a good deal of grief for being Americans in this beautiful city despite us being very respectful and tipping everywhere. Hoping we get to enjoy tomorrow and we definitely respect that there are rules. First experience is off putting but I'm encouraged by the reviews. I just wish I knew if it was even the right place as Google maps showed it being across the road and I know there are multiple floors in many European spots.

Abided by all the “rules” and made up a really good story, overall waited 1.5 hrs outside before we were allowed inside. Service was incredibly slow, getting 2 cocktails took 2 hours due to door keeper, bartender and cleaning was done all by the same person. Price is relatively fair however if you’re in Florence for vacation, do not bother to waste your time here.

The Vanilla Club embodies the holy trinity of a great drinking experience: great atmosphere, top-notch mixology and warm hospitality. Clearly a passion project of Stephano, owner and head barkeep, the Vanilla Club delivers delicious cocktails in a warm/friendly space with lots of jovial camaraderie. One doesn't visit the Vanilla Club for a drink; one comes to have an experience. Definitely worth a special journey to share a toast there.

This place is absolutely incredible. Stefano’s knowledge and passion for his art is really fun to get to watch and experience firsthand. The drinks he creates are fabulous. If you want a nice cup of tea, this place is highly recommended!

What a fun place! We found on Google Maps and did a little research on how to get in. I'm not going to give it away but it's not too hard to find out if you look. Never ring the bell twice! Never ask for alcohol! The location on Google maps is also wrong but it's close and you will figure it out when you get there. Once you get inside Stefano is a great host and he will make you some interesting libations. Don't come here thinking you will get your "regular" drink... That isn't going to happen. And there is no vodka either. Just come here ready to put on your party dress, (literally, they have party dresses for you) drink some cocktails you have never imaged, and have a great time. And if you're lucky, you might find out about the "Maiale d'oro!"---see selfies attached!

We had an excellent evening here, it was the highlight of our time in Florence. Stefano went easy on us for sure. I was really anxious that we would not get in but the rules should be taken LITERALLY. Do not over think. Such a romantic vibe and nice time. Very slow paced, so come for the experience, not if you plan to drink fast or a lot. Very intimate setting, very well curated. Also the party dresses were a great touch! This place was one of the main reasons we came to Florence and I am so glad we took the tome to come.

The rules to get into this place got a tad annoying but my husband enjoyed the game. The bartender was so nice and made fantastic cocktails based off what you describe you enjoy. Roughly 15€ each If you get in you’ll enjoy the atmosphere and drinks!

Follow the rules. If you do, Stefano might let you in his home, and it will eventually become your home. I went alone and was planning to stay one hour but ended up staying for 4 hours, it was honestly one of the most memorable nights of my life. The c****ails were amazing, you will be impressed by how knowledgeable and passionate our dear Stefano is. Till we meet again, the worst place in Florence <3

Wonderful speakeasy with great ambiance. Full of detail, it’s like you’re in the actual 20s. Very fun to try to get in (if you succeed of course) follow the rules and you’ll have the best time!

One of the best speakeasies in the world, hands down. The ambiance, vibe and setting are the most authentic I’ve seen. Drinks were 10/10 every. single. time. Stefano is an amazing host and makes sure all guests feel welcome. Hardest part is getting in and finding the place but that is part of experience. Make sure you follow the 3 rules ;)

The coolest REAL speakeasy experience on our last night in Florence. Stefano provided an authentic 1920’s experience with historic and fantastic cocktails. It’s not easy to find or easy to get in but it’s 💯 worth it when you do! Remember to follow the rules of the game if you want to experience “the worst place in Florence”📍🥃 🤫

We stumbled upon this bar our last night in Firenze — and what an amazing find ! A unique experience from the beginning to the end. The only bad part ? It had to end. If I told you more about the experience, I may ruin the surprise so I won’t go into details. What you need to know though is that if you’re looking for extraordinary cocktails and a fun night with Stefano, you’ve just found the place. Enjoy. @Stefano, we will be back.

A gem hidden in the streets of Florence. The bar has a truly unique vibe, inspired from 1920's prohibition era. Stefano, the owner, is a great bartender. He is incredibly skilled and has an impressive set of signature cocktails. more importantly, is a very friendly and welcoming host. Just sit at the bar, have a chat, let him suggest you some great cocktails, watch him at work and enjoy your *tea*. Very importantly : known the rules, don't ring the bell twice. You won't get in if you violate the rules, even if you booked.

I had high hopes for this experience, but but unfortunately it was a real let down. I get the Speakeasy approach & this is what drew me and my partner to visit. We waited from 10:30am until 1:00am, & were determined to get the rules/entrance correct. We were happy to play the game & were ready to get amongst it. We watched friends/locals walk in without question. After 2.5 hours we were finally let in, to over a half empty venue. We felt very out of place. We were not sure wether it was allowed to order a drink or not, so we waited another 30-40 mins for one. By this time we were pretty tired, & it felt like the only people in there were friends with the owner. Again, we felt super out of place and awkward. Stephen was somewhat nice, but honestly I was just a bit disappointed as I don’t have long in Florence & if we weren’t really welcome there I just wish I knew from the start so we could have gone elsewhere. I get the speakeasy relaxed theme, but at some point you gotta put some effort into service - especially after what you put people through to get inside. A nice idea, relatively nice people, nice interior… just poorly executed. I would recommend avoiding

Great place with a unique atmosphere. Follow the directions and understand this is a theme bar. Play along you will have the best time and the best drinks. Everyone working was so personable, and a joy to be around. Stayed longer then we had intended, had a great time interacting with the staff, and enjoyed every minute of it. Must go if you are in Florence.

I was lost and cold and than the little light on that dark street gave me so much comfort. The comfort that some random people ,just like me, had some thoughts" to whisper over a cup of tea". So gateful for it had the the best nights in there... great drinks ,great company 😇🤩🤫😏😉

Thank you Stefano for making our honeymoon extra special. We had a great night here. We did research before hand & even made a booking. Ensure you find the rules as you will be asked what they are. We found the location & the lantern was on. Once inside, Stefano made these unique cocktails for us based on our preferences. The vibe inside is friendly & warming. For our first speakeasy, it was definitely memorable. We hope to return again, but we will be spreading the word to family & friends who go to Florence. Cheers Stefano for the memories.

We were excited to go here but once we arrived, we saw these two couples sitting outside on the ground. These poor people had been sitting outside for over and hour and a half and they told us the guy who comes to the window had shut the door in their faces 3 times within that time frame and just left them there waiting. I love speak easies. I have a blog about them and which tells people about them but not enough to ruin the purpose or surprise of them. I was excited to write about them but this was just not something I found worthy of writing about. I’m sorry but just tell people no. I’m actually glad we didn’t have access. I don’t like seeing people being treated so poorly and then taking their money. I’ve been to some AMAZING speakeasies and I’ve never seen people treated like that. Nah! I’ll write a blog post about a better place.

Me and my wife were in Florence for 2 nights, and we were lucky enough to stumble across this place on the first night and you can best believe we returned the second. We have been to speakeasies in London, New York, Sydney, Paris and pretty much everywhere else we travel….but this place is the real mccoy. The rules are a must, it was stressful and hard to get in, but when we did it was so worth it. They were bespoke, world class cocktails….and incredibly enough its all a one man show. Don’t expect to get drunk, but enter the world, and see the magic of how Stephan works….

Great concept and wonderfully crafted cocktails. The owner clearly loves this place and the interior is beyond gorgeous. We would have loved to have stayed all night but our experience was ruined a little by a local patron that didn't seem to like tourists too much! We felt too self conscious to stay any longer (the language barrier certainly didn't help) so called it a night after a few drinks and chalked it up to bad luck. That wasn't the fault of the place itself so it still gets the full five stars. Truly puts Speakeasy bars in London to shame.

Stefano to owner is absolutely a star. He asked us what we like and with very little information he managed to make us such a great cocktails. Highly recommended. Thank you so much Stefano!
