We came here based on a recommendation by our host. One of the best traditional restaurants we visited during our stay. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Exceptional Ribollita. Will definitely try it at home. Reservation via website is highly recommended, but absolutely worth it.

Now I see why there is a line at 7 when they open. Great food and great people. This may be the only place in Italy where you can have a meal in less than an hour if you choose. We arrived at 6:45 to a line. At 7 they asked us if we had a reservation. We didn’t. They said we could sit outside if we promised to be done by 8:30. Being from the US we said yes. We actually ate and walked a mile back to our Airbnb by 8:30. No problem. Delicious food and great people. I had the bistecca and it was amazing. They even ask how you like it cooked, as opposed to many that bring it out rare. Highly recommend and highly recommend arriving by 6:45. You won’t be disappointed. The reviews were right…it’s worth going here.

A fun and authentic insight into the real Florence dining experience. An atmosphere and menu not to miss. Skip the expensive bottles and go for their 1 litre of house wine for €8… you’re in for a fantastic time!

Best local food for very reasonable price. House wine ir really good enough to taste and better then most of the bottled brands. Smiling service is a plus.

Trattoria La Casalinga is wonderful across the board! The food is delightful - for steak lovers, you HAVE to try the Florentine Steak - most certainly the best steak I've ever had. All of the pasta dishes we had were incredible. The desserts are special, my favorite was the lemon sorbet but the panna cotta was excellent too. We liked our dinner so much we came back the next night! One of my favorite things about this restaurant is the staff - Dini was our server the first night and he was so attentive, helpful and considerate. Marco was our server the second night and he was kind, friendly and brought everything to us with a warm smile. Both were amazing and we were so glad to have them! Overall, probably our favorite restaurant in Florence - highly recommend, but you'll probably need a reservation (we saw many people turned away at the door due to how many people were there - it's a popular stop!)

We reserved a table for 2 online (it is highly recommended as we arrived at 7pm - when the restaurant first opened for dinner - there was a huge queue!) The food was hearty, flavourful and of good portion. We had the pasta with meat ragu and with mushroom for around €12.50 each - both worth trying!! The menu was in Italian only but the waitress spoke good English and we asked for recommendations of what to order - we ended up ordering exactly as recommended - and all the dishes were very good.

Quaint and cozy place for a great dinner. The caprese and ragu make a perfect combo if you’re hungry. They seem to always have available seating, yet be fairly busy. Wait staff is very accommodating and helpful. Definitely a good restaurant that’s authentic and not too touristy. Food is high quality and very flavorful.

The quality of their ingredient is top quality, no doubt! The Florentine style tripe is full of umami. It is well cleaned so it is not very greasy, perfectly seasoned, and the texture is tender, but not mushy. It is just perfect, and beyond my expectation. Looks like Cantonese chefs are not the only ones who knows how to best showcase the goodness of tripes. The beef carpaccio is what you can really tell that the beef is top quality. It is so clean and tender inside without undesirable blood. Such a great dish for a hot summer day. Tiramisu has a very creamy light airy texture, but a bit too sweet for me.

If you only have one meal in Florence, you have to get the Florentine Steak at Trattoria La Casalinga. It was the best steak I’ve ever had and let them cook it how they’ve been doing for decades—rare! We had Florentine Steak at three other places and none could light a candle compared to this place. The seasoning was perfect and the steak was like a gift from the gods. So tender and delicious that I wish I had an extra stomach so I could eat more. The staff was super friendly and spoke English. This place was insanely busy so be sure to make a reservation well in advance. Save room for the homemade Tiramisu—you won’t be disappointed.

Excellent choice for dinner. Wait staff is amazing and very understanding. They made sure ever dish was as ordered. I’d suggest the meats and cheese (shareable) for starters. The crostini toscani is a must try. Everything well seasoned and full of flavors.

The place is very warm and welcoming. The price is very good, and the staff don’t try to speak English to you right away, which I find polite because it can be condescending when you try to speak Italian and they immediately roll their eyes and speak English to you. We had steak, salad, ravioli, dolce, and caffe The food was above average for Florence. It seemed fresh! Overall I’d go back here!

So delicious! Yummy home-style cooking. Vegetarian friendly. Warm and welcoming staff. Accommodating of dietary requirements. Also super cheap. Mains were €10 and sides were €6. We had entrees, mains, sides and drinks for under €28 each. This unpretentious and welcoming restaurant has been one of my favourite meals in Europe to date.

Our waiter was a young gentleman sadly we didn't get his name but He was awesome! He gave us recommendations for wine and guided us. We had meat aperetive plate, Florentine steak, roasted potatoes, wine, tiramisu. Wine was pricey but ok, meat was very delicious. We didn't like the aperetive plate and tiramisu was average. You definitely need to make a reservation few days prior

We had a wonderful dinner here on our first night in Firenze in our favorite Oltrarno section. This place is exceptional in terms of food, service, and location. Not surprisingly, there was a line of about 10 people right at 7:00pm, with several people turned away because they did not have reservations. Do yourself a favor and make online reservations to avoid this disappointment.

The ravioli wad delicious and more than that everyone there was kind and happy and the restaurant is clearly run by a happy family. The vibe was definitely relaxing. I'm happy I tried it.

Had lunch here based on a recommendation. Dishes let its simplicity and flavor speak for themselves. Prices are reasonable and felt like a neighborhood family restaurant. Here for a week but already planning to return for more.

Top restaurant with history that looks like a family business. They are very warm and funny people. The food is amazing, especially the "bistecca alla Fiorentina" which is absolutely delicious.

Ribollita and Pappardelle Al sugo di cinghiale (wild boar) were very good. Service was good too, but the florentine steak and nonna tarts were disappointing, hence the 4 stars.

One word - WOW Such great food and service, this has to be the best restaurant in Firenze. The cheese cake is a must. Do not skip this place, every bite was a blessing.

We enjoyed getting recommendations from the friendly water for all of our dishes. The mushroom pasta and creamy panna cotta were favourites

We were visiting from San Francisco for our honeymoon. We came for dinner and ordered the bruschetta, a pasta, and meat dish. Unfortunately, we both agreed that the bruschetta and pasta were a bit bland :S However, we loved interacting with our waiter and would visit again to try other things on the menu.

Delicious food, great customer service. We ordered the Antipasto Mixto Toscano as a starter and then the Guancia and Lingua as our mains along with the Pollo Arrosto. Everything was great. I would recommend that you call up and make a reservation first because we didn't and had a limited amount of time that we could stay until we would need to give up our table.
