Ciro & Sons is a must-stop restaurant if you have any trouble with gluten...or just like delicious food in general. As a seriously gluten intolerant person, I tend to just avoid gluten-free substitutes as I've tasted the real thing in the past (though it made me sick) and see everything as falling short. That being said, I'm human and miss the experience of bread, pizza, etc. Eating gluten-free pizza, bruschetta, and desserts here is like going back to the real thing and forgetting I have an allergy; it's literally so so so good! My husband ate gluten-free with me and said the pizza tasted as good as any true flour pizza he's had! Moreover, the service is amazing. The family is present in the restaurant and are warm and welcoming. Their wine list is excellent as well! The last two times I've been in Florence, I've eaten at this restaurant multiple nights and will do so in the future. Don't miss it. :)

Nice restaurant, nice ambience. The service works like clockwork. It can be seen that it is highly organized. As for the food, the pizza is interesting, given that the dough is gluten-free. You won't feel bloated like you would with regular dough, that's for sure. Compliments to the fact that the portions, as far as I could see, are generous and you certainly won't go hungry. As for the prices, the restaurant is not expensive. It absolutely justifies the value of the invested money. Be sure to stop in for a pizza here

This restaurant is a celiacs dream!!! It sounds too good to be true but it is not. Firstly, they had gluten free bread to start the meal off with, and it was fantastic - not just some dense gluten free bread that you get to accommodate at some restaurants. I wanted to eat it all. We ordered wine, fried calamari, pizza, tagliatelle with pesto, and my boyfriend got a (not gluten free) lobster spaghetti. We both thoroughly enjoyed the calamari, which was so nicely breaded and arrived hot. The pizza was amazing. We’ve had a few pizzas around italy now and this was one of the best. The pasta was also delicious, and I was excited that they had all varieties of pastas available gluten free (not just penne or spaghetti). Had we any room, they had several gluten free dessert options, but we were stuffed. Service was prompt and friendly, and the owner also came around to check on things and was also very kind. Make sure you stop here if you are looking for a good meal!

Everything here can be made gluten free, and many things also without lactose, shellfish, etc. Wine is sold by the glass (limited selection), half bottle (limited selection), or bottle. I got the fettuccine alfredo with truffles, and cheesecake for dessert. The staff is friendly, the service is incredibly quick (we sat down, ordered, ate lunch, and paid in < 1 hour!) and the food is delicious. 100% to recommend!

Beautiful restaurant with a wonderful staff! Hello to Alex and our lovely lady from Cuba! Both were amazing! We enjoyed all our dishes both Gluten free for my husband and regular for me. The pasta was perfectly cooked and sauced just right. My favorite were the deserts; they were superb. What a fantastic place. We met the family on our way out. Grandma was a ball of joy! We found our go to when in Florence! P.S. They also had our favorite bourbon! But, we opted for a Aperol and Hugo Spritz.

Wow! Definitely give this place a taste! I had the lasagna which was the best pasta I’ve had all trip. All the pasta is handmade. They also have a large pizza menu, and they smelled delicious. This was only the second restaurant in Italy which we have found a Caesar salad on the menu. It too was delicious. I also had the minestrone soup, but beware it’s a large bowl not a cup. The hostesses and wait staff were all friendly and very polite even when we had to send something back. We have food allergies. And they were very nice about it and wanted everything to be great for us. Would definitely try again!

We came here on a whim because this place was near our accommodation and it has the steak that we wanted to try on the menu. However, we left feeling disappointed. First off, they didn't serve us the bread and olives that come before the meal. We had to ask for them after we have received the main course. The steak was very chewy and not worth the price that we paid. I think cheaper steak tasted better than this. The salad was underwhelming. The only thing that was decent was the pasta. Service was not up to standard either. I don't think we will return.

The food was really good but I ordered the gluten free lasagna and it wasn’t as good as I had expected. Perhaps it was because of the cheese (it was really intense) but it tasted weird. The gluten free calzone was excellent and we enjoyed it a lot. The service was excellent and the ambience too. They have lot of gluten free options. We will order a different dish next time

We went for dinner and ordered some drinks, artichoke antipasti and lobster pasta and veg pesto pasta. Taste was 5/5. They were very generous with the complimentary bread and olives. Great ambience, both outside and inside seating, just incase you want to get away from the crowd and noise for your dinner. They open at 6 for dinner. Lovely hosts. It's 5 mins by foot from the Santa Maria del Fiore. Some more variety on the menu would be great.

Beautiful and comfortable restaurant. The Bellagio pizza was absolutely delicious while all the pasta dishes looked amazing! The service with Alex was excellent and very attentive!! Mercedes was a charm with the friendliest conversation! I was here for lunch and would definitely come back for dinner.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner here. As a coeliac it's amazing to be able to have anything on the menu (the whole menu is available gluten-free), and it was all as delicious as it looked. Friendly staff too, and a nice family story in the menu! Would 100% recommend, especially for the incredible gluten-free options!

We visited Ciro and Sons twice during our stay in Florence. I am yet to have a better gluten free pizza! The first night I also had GF calamari and I cannot stop raving about it. The staff ask if you have any dietary requirements before ordering and are then very accommodating without any fuss throughout. Highly recommend whether you are gluten free or not. My partner is not gluten free and has said it's the best pizza he has ever had! If you're in Florence, go here. It won't disappoint!

I read a lot of reviews about this place, being the best gluten free restaurant in Florence and it did not disappoint, I loved the food here, however my eyes were bigger than my stomach and when presented with the option to eat everything, I’m probably guilty of that. Wonderful place, excellent gluten free food and lovely staff, all of whom were very conversational with the customers. 100% recommend, don’t think about it, do it!

The absolutely most perfect spot to celebrate NYE with my daughter and her boyfriend. 🍾 The food was fantastic. Everything was available as a gluten-free version, but delicious enough that the gluten consumers at our table lived it! Thank you for this precious memory!

Alex was a great server and very attentive. Everyone was very accommodating with our gluten-free needs. Almost everything on the menu can be made gluten-free.

We cannot say enough amazing things about Ciro and Sons! We loved it so much after getting it for take out our first night in Florence that we went there in person for dinner one day and lunch another. Everyone who works there is absolutely wonderful and full of fun personality. The food is DELICIOUS! We tried 3 different pizzas, pasta, beef, pasta with pesto, an apple salad, artichoke pie, spritzes, Chianti, tiramisu, and chocolate cake with vanilla gelato over our many times there and every single thing was incredible. I also love that it’s family run and we even saw the family eating together while we were there, which also says a lot that they eat and enjoy the food that they serve to everyone else. I cannot recommend this place enough!

My favorite pizza that I had in all of Southern Italy! The pizza oven is right in the kitchen where you can see it when you walk in. The owners sat right beside us for their own family lunch. It was very apparent that this is a restaurant that values the intimacy that comes along with sharing a meal! Love this place and will definitely return.

The BEST food you will find in Florence. Everything was perfect. The staff was super friendly and spoke English pretty well. They have many Glueten free options including pizza and pasta and even baked dough balls (gf) which is almost impossible for my Wife to find in the states. Bring your smiles and appetite because this family owned and operated Ristorante will not disappoint!!

We can’t say enough good things about Ciro and Sons! We went for a Celiac-safe cooking class which was amazing. We were brought into the active kitchen (before opening) and got to see how everything works and make our own gluten free pizzas and bread. Unlike a more “cookie cutter” cooking class, it felt organic and like we were truly brought in on their process. It was the most unique culinary experience I’ve ever had in my life, and probably the highlight of the trip! Great people, great food, great experience all around.

We had the Diavolo pizza, the Pizza with Burata and pasta, salmon filet and the Torta die Mele dessert! Amazing! Service fantastic too! Walking distance to all. Love the atmosphere.

Fifth day in Italy with my parents and Ciro and Sons felt like the first genuine meal in Italy. Dishes are undoutbly Italian but stays simple, not sophisticated. Portions just right and serving partners just make everything perfect. Unforgettable food and experience. Truly recommend. Thanks!

Beautiful venue, very genuine and friendly staff. We had a mixture of pizza and pasta. After having many pizzas throughout Rome, Puglia and Florence, these were among the best. We returned. Our waiter Alessandro was charming, remembered our table and most of our orders several nights later. Very happy to recommend to visitors and particularly for those with gluten issues.

This restaurant is absolutely incredible. Every single dish we had was the best version our tastebuds have experienced. Our waiter Alex was so lovely and had great recommendations. On top of that he heard my mom mention it was her birthday and before we even had the change to request a birthday desert he already brought one and sang a birthday song. The level of incredible food and attention to detail I have never experienced at another restaurant.

One of our favorite meals in Italy! We came here to escape the heat wave and the air conditioning was a welcome break, but most importantly their pizzas were DELICIOUS! The quality of their ingredients was excellent and they had plenty of space to seat our large party of 10. Fun atmosphere, friendly service, excellent pizzas, I highly recommend this place if you’re in Florence looking for a great pizzeria.

Absolutely delicious! Alex was a great waiter and the food was phenomenal. The fact that everything on the menu can be made gluten free is absolutely the celiac’s dream!!! And not just gluten free, but you don’t even feel like you’re eating something gluten free, because it’s so good. :)

This was our first stop in Florence for authentic and gluten-free Italian food, and we were not disappointed. There is a dedicated kitchen for the gluten-free dishes and everything on the menu can be made gluten-free. It was AMAZING! Hands down one of the best gluten-free free dining experiences we have had. The crust on the calzone and pizza was delicious, soft and yet crisp. The pesto on the pizza was delicate and in perfect balance with the cheese and tomato sauce. The tiramisu was light and airy and impossible to believe it was gluten-free. More importantly, the service was warm and welcoming. We had a wonderful, leisurely meal in an environment that just makes you want to smile when you walk in. We will definitely be going back before we leave to try out more of the menu.

Excellent food, great staff, beautiful restaurant! It was amazing to find a place that does not only gluten-free, but also lactose-free! Everything on the menu was available in either, or both, options which gave us plenty of choice! Definitely returning here if we find ourselves back in Florence!

The pizza, drinks, and dessert are all phenomenal. It was the best meal I’ve had my entire time in Italy. But even better, the service was fantastic. Everyone is so kind and friendly which is not always the case as Americans in Italy. Ciro and Sons should be very proud of their amazing restaurant!

This is my first review that I write and honestly 5 stars is too less for how incredible our experience at this restaurant was. Food 10/10. The mussels were the best all of us ever had. Service 10/10 All the staff were extremely pleasant and welcoming. We celebrated a birthday dinner for a group of 11 people. I am amazed by the atmosphere the staff created for us and how well organised everything was. I recommend this place with all my heart. Thank you so much!

My recent visit to the Italian restaurant was exceptional, and our waiter, Alex, was a standout. His knowledge, attentiveness, and warm service enhanced our dining experience. The food, ambiance, and Alex's exceptional service make this restaurant a must-visit for Italian cuisine enthusiasts.

I absolutely love this restaurant. I came back twice in my short visit to Florence and it was worth it every time. As a person with a gluten and dairy intolerance, it was the best pizza I’ve had in Italy. The drinks were also very delicious. I got an espresso martini and aperol spritz made by Ali and they did not disappoint.
