We sat at the bar because we did not have a reservation and there were no open tables. However, it was much quieter in the back of the restaurant, and our service was amazing! The food was all delicious! We took recommendations from our bar tender and they did not disappoint. We did not get any meat dishes, but they have a good variety of these as well. We split an appetizer (translates to onion flan which I thought did not sound appealing, but it was incredible). We both got pasta dishes that we both really enjoyed as well, and finished off the meal with some pear cheesecake that was very light and refreshing. What a great experience here!

Where to even begin with this one.. Just the perfect low key environment which has seen many stars show up at their doors but it still doesn’t come to their heads at all. The prices are really affordable and everything is really next level. For the wines I suggest you take the house wine it’s absolutely great at 8 EUR for half a liter you can start with a half caraffa of white and then we switched over to half a red for the bistecca. No need to order the expensive wine bottles we were absolutely satisfied with the house wine. Coming to the food we started with the buratta al tartufo a classic really good. Then for the primi piatti we had the tartufo pasta a classic too my girlfriend loved it I thought it was ok. I had the pasta al ragu di cinghiale which is the original bolognese made out of wild board which was really insane you can taste all the flavors it was the best I had. For secundi piatti I just had a cut of meat which as you can see was just cooked to perfection. Everything was perfect from the waiters to the vibe so Grazie Mille I already want to have lunch with you again!

This review is combined with the review for "Osteria del Pavone". Came in for dinner without reservation, what a mistake on the weekend, and asked for a table for 2. The owner suggested that we sit at the bar since there was no free table. The bar looked like a counter, and it looked like he was in the middle of balancing his books or something, but since we like to sit at the bar for dinner we thought it would be interesting and said yes. He than took us to the back of the restaurant, through the kitchen and through a small door into a different room, with a big beautiful bar, waiters dressed in suits, and soft music in the background. This was "Osteria del Pavone". Apparently the two restaurants are connected and they have an agreement that "Bianco"'s customers can sit at the bar at "Pavone" if there's no room. So we got the food from "Bianco" and the service and drinks from "Pavone". Hence the combined review. We started our meal with a platter of meats and cheese, served with 2 crostinis with liver patè. The meats were amazing, good quality of Tuscan sausage and prosciutto, and a good quality cheese. The patè was also great, served on a good piece of bread. Next we had the dumplings. They are like ricotta and spinach large gnocchi. They were fantastic. The texture was soft with a real spinach flavor, all served in a puddle of melted butter. We thought about getting the onion flan but we didn't since it comes with truffle shavings and my dinner partner doesn't like it. But a lady next to us got it. It looked amazing and she said the taste was exquisite. We didn't know what meat to order and the bartender suggested the beef fillet with chianti sauce. It sounded good so we ordered it. The man knows what he is talking about. The quality of the meat was super premium, served medium-rare like they do in Firenze. The meat was soft as butter and cooked perfectly, served with roasted potatoes which were perfect. But the real star was the sauce. It was a good Chianti wine, reduced, so that all the flavors are concentrated. It was the highlight of the dish. Since we couldn't decide on dessert, we got 2 of them. One was described as dark chocolate with white chocolate and truffle. It was just that. Good quality soft dark chocolate, and good soft white chocolate, and some truffle shavings. The combination of the flavors was unique and great. They paired perfectly together. The second dessert was called bigne with caramel sauce. The dough was great and the caramel sauce was also amazing. The bigne was filled with high quality vanilla ice cream. A sweet dish to end the meal, but not too sweet. The food here is one of the best I had in Florence, and this is definitely a place that you need to visit when in town.

Went here after seeing someone recommend their onion flan with truffle, it quickly became one of the best dishes I’ve had in Florence! The other dishes were also very good and service was super friendly! There were so many dishes I wanted to try, can’t wait to go back!

The appetizer had 4 kinds of ham, cheese, burrata with truffle on top, tomatoes and bread, and chicken liver with bread. I personally enjoyed the burrata and the prosciutto. House wine was a bit dry. Not much memory about it. We ordered truffle spaghetti. It was lightly seasoned. Maybe because the chef wanted us to taste the mild flavor of the truffle. We added a little salt when we had it though, to boost the flavor a bit. Florentine steak was great, but I personally think tiramisu was the highlight of the meal. It was not too sweet, and the finger biscuits were soaked with coffee. Everything balanced well together. Lastly, we ended with an espresso.

Have been coming here regularly for the last 20 years. Maybe not the best in town but it never disappoint. Despite located near some of main touristic spots, its food is genuine and taste good even for local italian guests. Service is good despite always very crowded and busy. Atmosphere is great, maybe a bit noisy sometimes but it only add value for those who wants enjoy fun time eating good traditional Toscana food.

We tried three times to get a table there, even in advance but it didn’t work. On the last day we risked to go there without reservation. He told us that they have a table outside and we were led through the kitchen area. It was quite funny though. It turned out that we had a table in the other restaurant that belongs together. Well, the problem is that the Osteria seems cozy but this one is a fine dining (to us) , so we’re not really prepared for this. Well, the food good, the service was really, really fine. The dessert was excellent. So it’s kind of mixed feeling for us there. Try to get in advance a reservation for the table (5 days in advance was not enough in our case.)

Great location, tiny but nice place for dinner, both if you are a couple or a small group of friends/familiars. Menu proposal is typical tuscan food, with some more touristic courses. Delicious food and good quality-price rate. Friendly staff. A bit too cold due to air conditioning

Dining at Osteria del Cinghiale Bianco was a memorable experience. Because we hadn't made a reservation, the restaurant had no more seats, but the staff was so kind as to accommodate us (2 people) in their bar area where we had a lovely cozy seating. We were able to order foods from the restaurant, and also cocktails from the bar. While the bar is under the name "Osteria del Pavone", the two are connected so one can experience not only very delicious food, but also excellent cocktails. There we were mainly attended to by the bartender, Federico, who provided an excellent service, really extraordinary. Besides his perfect manners, he clearly has a great passion for bartending and knows a lot about his craft. All in all, I would definitely return to Osteria del Cinghiale Bianco and to Osteria del Pavone in the future!

Some friends told us about this place and we had to try it out. I don't know if it's necessary but I recommend you make reservations. From the outside looking in you think it's small but once you get inside there's room in the back. The food was amazing. Service was top notch. I tried the pasta in boar sauce and WOW. My wife had truffle pasta. The dessert was also very good. If you are ever looking for a place to eat, this is it.

Good place although very popular. First time I didn't get a place. Had excellent occabuca and nice tiramisu. The artichokes were a bit too greasy. Nice place if you get a place in first two rooms.

Osteria Cinghiale Bianco, hands down the best Italian restaurant I've ever visited! Marco, his father, and our server Lorenzo extended such genuine hospitality that we felt right at home. The incredible food and service compelled us to return for a second dinner during our 4-night stay in Florence. Securing a last-minute spot for New Year’s Eve was the highlight, creating the best New Year's experience ever. And, oh, the Panna Cotta—truly to die for—adding a heavenly touch to an already exceptional culinary journey. This restaurant alone is reason enough to revisit Florence, a true gem!

We had no reservation but we’re still able to sit in the “secret” bar area. Very beautiful restaurant. We had an excellent meal. Beef with Chianti sauce and potatoes was outstanding (I’m still trying to figure out how to make that at home). This was a fun experience, definitely recommend.

I came to this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend who called their burrata and truffle appetizer "the best meal she's ever had" and I was not disappointed. That dish is quite excellent, and so is everything else, from the cute decor, to the impeccable presentation and quality of their dishes, Osteria Cinghiale Bianco is a gem from start to finish. A reservation is definitely required, but it's definitely worth the effort.

This was one of my favorite meals in Florence! The wait staff and owner were extremely accommodating. The ambiance was fantastic. From our first course to entree every meal was delicious and authentic. The boar steak was absolutely awesome. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Be sure to make a reservation

Really nice atmosphere, beautiful starters. The mains were all heavily salted though, and the wild boar was swimming in oil. The staff were a little pushy with ourselves and tables either side to us as they had people waiting. Nice place to visit but considering the cost and quality of the food, I feel they really should allocate more time per reservation and not be so pushy to clear half eaten plates of food to rush you out!

An unbelievable meal at an authentic restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious with the sage and butter ravioli being the stand out! It was delicate and rich, cooked perfectly. Their wild boar ragu was incredible and certainly the best I’ve ever had. The service was prompt, engaging and helpful. I couldn’t recommend highly enough!

As of this review I've been in Italy a full week and this is by far the best dinner we had. Everything is exceptional. The food is amazing, and the service is, by far, the best of any place we've been in Italy. Their speciality is wild boar, and is not to be skipped! The tiramisu is also excellent. The atmosphere is also quite unique as the restaurant is built inside a 14th century castle. It's quite small, and very popular so get there early or expect a very long wait if you don't make a reservation! If you do have to wait though, they often bring you sympathy wine "so that you don't WINE too much"

We were told by friends not to miss this restaurant. We passed by just before they opened for lunch and peered in the window. The staff/owners were having their meal, and we waited about as to not miss the opening as we had no reservations. When the door opened, the gentleman said, "Come. We have made room for you and your dog. " Our Great Dane, who was traveling with us, was more than welcome to join us. The staff were lovely and accommodating, and the food was unforgettable 😍. A MUST when in Firenze.

We arrived without a reservation just as they opened and were able to get seated at the bar which was actually perfect! We got to talk with other travelers and the bartender and had plenty of attention from our waiter as well. We had lovely cocktails and a delicious steak etc. The ambiance was great and the location made for less tourists and more picturesque photos etc. I believe Cinghiale Bianco was featured on Stanley Tucci's Searching for Italy. It lived up to the picture he painted of it on that episode. Their Tiramisu was a great finale to the meal.

Do yourself a favour and dine here! We started with the Crostini Toscani and then had their speciality (the reason for choosing this restaurant) "Pappardelle al ragu di Cinghiale' ...and it was sensational! The service was exceptional and the atmosphere buzzing, definitely worth the short walk across the Ponte Vecchio!

We managed to get a table without a reservation, but I would not risk it, if you know your schedule and book a table! It appears they only have 1 table for walk ins and a lot of people were kindly advised that the restaurant is full and we’re turned away (compliment to the manager for managing this in a really nice way- he always apologised when people asked for a table and he had to turn them away). We had steak with veggies and potatoes and it was delicious. If you opt for steak, it comes on the rare side, but it was just right for us. Lovely atmosphere! Would recommend no starters if you get steak, it would just be too much! We spend around £50 per person and also had a glass of wine. We would definitely go back!

We had an excellent florentine steak. It was cooked perfectly. Crunchy on the outside and moist and rare on the inside. The service was excellent! The waiter asked us if we want some limoncello, so he lead us into the kitchen which got us confused! Apparently, there is a beautiful bar in the back. I wish I have photos of the bar. They also make excellent drinks at the bar.

Am absolutely fantastic restaurant, probably my favorite restaurant of our entire trip. The owner and staff were fantastic, and the food was unbelievable. I could have eaten 5 plates of the wild boar pasta - it was put of this world. If/when I make it back to Florence, this will be on the list of places to visit again.

Very good! My wife ordered spaghetti al ragu and mixed grilled vegetables, I had bistecchine di cinghiale alla griglia (grilled steaks of wild boar). Service was excellent! Easy to order, easy to get the bill. Attentive. We've had wild boar in many places. Sometimes a little wild taste but this wasn't. Two chops grilled perfectly and served with potatoes. Other options for wild boar are available. Another specialty is bistecca alla Florentina, a tbone steak Florentine style. Recommended.

Probably one of the bests pastas we’ve had in Florence. We also had the florentina steak, amazing!

  • 2/5 Joyie Z. 1 year ago on Google
The bartender is a brilliant artist and he deserves a raise! The drink he made is creative, carefully curated, delicious and beautiful. Maybe a professional bar is where he would shine. The sliced beef is a bit boring. Flavor wise, nothing noteworthy. It is not even a good cut of the beef but the dish together with the potato is $28. The potato is very delicious by the way. Truffle with burrata is interesting, but I am kind of skeptical about the burrata because it is fizzy on the inside ( maybe the cheese is not properly stored so it starts to ferment inside??). I do feel like being discriminated because I was dining alone and was not allowed to get a table. This had never happened to me in my 30 day trip in Italy regardless how busy/popular/expensive the restaurant is. As a result, the bartender is overloaded by the amount of work, and I was taking much longer being kept waiting than eating. Again let me be clear, this has nothing to do with the bartender, it is the restaurant management to blame. Either hire more people or let me sit on a table and let a waiter do the job. Despite my love towards their food and drink, I will never return either alone nor with friends.

We booked a table for dinner well in advance of our trip to Florence and it did not disappoint! The Truffle Burrata was incredible and the burrata and fresh tomato spaghetti was the best pasta I've ever tasted! Very reasonably priced too, would definitely recommend dinner here, just make sure to book in advance.

An excellent osteria serving Tuscan food, with a focus on “peasant/poor food”, but not just that. Had the wild boar cold cuts, which were delectable. Followed by the pappardelle pasta with wild boar. Obviously, you must not miss out on the boar. If that’s not your thing, There’s plenty more to choose from. The house wine is good, but you also have a selection of Italian wines by the bottle. Service is very good. They are efficient, but not pushy. This is not a tourist trap, and you are not being processed. Well done! Will recommend.
