We didn’t reserve but we arrived 15 min before they opened and waited. This place fills up fast and for good reason. The truffle gnocchi was the best thing I ate the whole 2 weeks I was in Italy. All the other food is amazing. The bruschetta was also the best I ever had. Beautiful, delicious, affordable. Honestly best lunch in Florence.

We arrived without a reservation and the staff was so friendly to write our names down and give us a estimated waiting time. Once we sat down and ordered the food it was worthwhile! The waiter recommended a nice red beer to me. Tastes amazing! We ordered the gnocchi with cheese and truffle and the pasta with cheese and pepper. Both were delicious but the gnocchi especially was to die for! Best gnocchi I ever had. The portions were very generous and the prices are very good for what you get. Would recommend to anyone visiting Florence!

What a great experience. The staff was super friendly and they really look like they love their jobs. The food was fantastic. Gnocchi and risotto were just incredibly good. We had the reduced portions but actually they were quite big, so price-quality is really a big plus here! I can’t wait to go back.

Good. Not really a tourist trap. We came here because of the reviews and it’s certainly not in a ultra popular piazza. There was a couple of tables after a short wait. Food was pretty good, ribollina (a bread soup) was really good and then the pasta was really well prepared. Service was excellent too and pretty quick. They recommended us a decent wine and also the pasta. Atmosphere, as I said before, is good, in a not too popular square and therefore not super crowded. Price was good at 50ish for all pictured plates.

We were recommended this resultant by some fellow dinners in a restaurant in Venice!! So we decided to visit. The first word of advice is to reserve ahead!! Even if you reserve you still need to queue up at 7.30pm if you want a table. If you don't reserve you will have a long wait ahead. The food really is great!! The steak was amazing. The wine was great. It's not expensive either.

By far my favorite restaurant in Italy. I studied abroad in Florence back in 2012, and was recommended Osteria Santo Spirito by my Italian teacher. I was instantly hooked (especially on the truffle gnocchi). My mom came to visit while I was studying abroad, so of course I took her here. She wanted to go back for lunch and dinner the following day. It really is that good. The service is amazing and is such a great value for the quality of food you get. I just visited Florence and my husband and I went back three times on our trip. It tastes exactly the same 10 years later! I cannot wait to come back!!!

A wonderful restaurant in the square of Santo Spirito. During our stay, we went there for dinner, and also lunch, enjoying excellent meals both times. The lasagna, risotto, gnocchi, spaghetti with fresh clams, and tiramisu were fantastic. Friendly staff, and the price is very reasonable considering the quality of the food. I'd recommend making a reservation for dinner as it gets extremely busy. This can be done via WhatsApp. For lunch, reservations are not required.

RESERVE. Whether you want to eat here for lunch or for dinner, on the weekend or during the week, for heaven’s sake, just book your bloody table beforehand or you’ll be denied unsympathetically and unapologetically. However, if you do manage to get a table - and if you want to sit outside make sure you specify during your original request - you’ll be seated at a happy table with different-colored chairs and the typical, brightly-painted Tuscan dinnerware. You’ll be served the tastiest of foods and you’ll be offered a selection of the most enjoyable wines. Indulge in it all, in this most unique and incredible piazza! The service is perfunctory but you’ll be taken care of, and after all, it’s the location and flavors that make Osteria Santo Spirito.

Luckily, we had a reservation. Waiting times seemed to up to 30 minutes easily. Food is amazing. We had the gnocchi with cheese and truffle oil and the zucchini risotto. Both were great. Portions were fairly big, recommed getting the reduced portions if you don't have a large appetite. Lots of vegetarian options!!! Place is very well ran, servers are nice, but also seem to want you to finish you food quickly and get up immediately after collecting your plates. Probably because there was a line of 10-20 people waiting for a table.

One of the top highlights of our trip! This felt like a family owned business. All the food was super fresh and felt homemade. We ordered the Ribollita and it was such a hearty dish I’d totally recommend it, we had baked potatoes on the side with it and it paired really well together. The star was the Gnocchi with cheese and truffle oil. Bless the chef! You could taste every ingredient and it was all so so well balanced and delicious. Spaghetti pomodoro was also good but the other dishes totally overshadowed it. Tiramisu and cheesecake were the creamiest desserts we had in Italy. Could add more to the ambience but overall loved the place.

Fantastic location. Friendly stuff and not expensive food at all. Now the food. It was amazing. Do not miss the 'bocconcini di prosciutto e mozzarella di bufala'. Absolutely a place to go back and try the different dishes they offer. I loved it!

Was recommended this place by a friend and surely did not disappoint! We didn't place a reservation but the wait was pretty short and we were served some Prosecco while waiting for our table. The muscles were amazing and cooked with a tomato based unlike the usual white wine sauce. Also had the best gnocchi and we absolutely loved the seafood tagliatelle and the tripe was to die for.

This restaurant has undoubtedly exceeded all my expectations. They have a very good collections of pastas and appetizers. I had the gnocchi with truffle sauce, it was amazing! The truffle sauce really went super well with the gnocchi and brought out the subtle taste and texture of the cheese sauce. Additionally, I also tried the tuscan soup with bread and it felt like a warm hug, it was so comforting and delicious! A really good option in this restaurant was that they also provided half plates, which gives you an opportunity to try more of their delicious Tuscan cuisine. When we went there at 7.30pm when they opened there was already a long line of people waiting to be seated, so I would suggest that if possible try to reach there around 7.15pm. I would say that one must go this restaurant if you wish to have flavorful and homemade pastas and appetizers!

Excellent. Easily the best place we went to during our stay. I would give it more stars if I could. The location is on a square, and due to our reservation, we got to sit outside both times. The atmosphere was phenomenal. The first time we got here, we tried the Spaghetti Aglio Olio e Peperoncino, Pappa Al Pomodoro and the slices beef with parmezan. Those dishes exceeded all expectations, you could tell that it was made with quality ingredients, passion and love for the kitchen. To top it off, they even subtracted the Pappa from the bill because they served it later than the other dishes, even though I told them it was not necessary to do so. At our second visit, we also tried the risotto with zucchini, and it tasted great! Even though we had to walk 20 minutes to get there, it was more than worth it (especially on the way back, Florence is beautiful)!

I read reviews and my wife and I decided to walk here. We didn't have a reservation so we had to wait an hour for an outside table. We could have gone inside sooner but wanted the outside atmosphere. They served everyone in line a small cup of prosecco. I ordered the gnocchi gratin which seems like a must get dish as most tables had it. Super delicious- gnocchi was light and sauce was unbelievable. They run a well oiled place there.

This was the one meal I had by myself during my week in Florence, and yet this was my favorite meal. I ordered two large pastas, which paired well with the house wine. The pici with pomodoro was extraordinary. It came to me in a huge portion, piping hot with endless steam. I did not know such "simple" food could be so delicious. The truffle gnocchi came to me still broiling in its plate (and continued to bubble for a long time). It was rich and decadent. I had to stop myself from finishing all of the pici pomodoro so I could box it up and let my companion try it later. He (a meat eater who loves rich food) was so impressed by the simple vegetarian pasta, even as re-heated leftovers, and ate it all with gusto. The environment was perfectly rustic, Tuscan, warm, and beautiful. The service was so good and so fast! Shortly after sitting down they served complimentary bread with the best olive tapenade I've ever had. At the end, when I paid at the counter, they asked me if I would like a limoncello shot. Naturally I was confused, but they seemed to be saying that this was a normal thing offered to people who spend more than €30. I asked the employee to take it with me, so together we toasted and took a delicious, very strong limoncello shot at 2 in the afternoon. I've eaten at quite a few places during my week in Florence; this was my favorite.

Absolutely lovely osteria on the Santo Spirito piazza (as the name suggests). The pasta here is delicious - we had the gnocchi ragu, the truffle gnocchi, the spaghetti vongole and the tagliatelle with mussels. All were delicious, very fairly priced and in large portions. The staff are busy but friendly and the service is quick. The restaurant is very busy at night (book in advance), but less busy at lunch (no reservations taken for lunch).

Hands down one of my favorite restaurants in all of Florence. I have been here probably 5 or 6 times over the past few years and make it a habit to go whenever in Florence. Getting a reservation (at least in the summer time) is a must during the peak travel season. One of my favorite dishes is the Walnut Raviloi which is filled with spinach and ricotta cheese. The steak is also a must! All of the food here is excellent (especially their signature four cheese truffle gnocchi).

The restaurant is located in a lively square with very nice ambiance. The service was very good. The gnocchi and lasagna were delicious! I like how there’s an option to order a half portion of a dish. My only note is that the mussel soup had a bit too much oil. Prices were reasonable. Overall a very nice experience.

Without a doubt the best pasta I have had in Florence with great service and beautiful location. I couldn’t recommend more highly. Be sure to order the gnocchi with truffle and cream

This was a great impromptu lunch for us. We arrived shortly after opening and it filled up quickly. The food was very good and far above average for the area. Pasta was cooked perfectly. The truffle gnocchi were the best thing anyone got. All of the salumi were great as was the pan con pomodoro. The service was slightly hurried but attentive and kind.

The lasagna and baked truffle gnocchi, among many other dishes, are to die for! Don’t expect a posh restaurant, expect great food! Make sure to make a reservation as the tables are hard to come by.

Incredible meal all around. The mussels appetizer was in some of the most flavorful broth I’ve ever had, it was a light tomato, garlic and basil broth as opposed to white wine broth I’m used to for mussels which was a great change of pace I thought. The gnocchi with truffle oil was amazing and unlike anything else I’d found on a menu in Italy so far. The pasta with garlic, olive oil and spicy peppers was also great and the peppers had a nice heat to them. Atmosphere is great too with a majority outdoor seating, off the Piazza Santo Spirito where it is a lively vibe with many other outdoor restaurants and cafes.
