So nice, we went twice. Really can't recommend this restaurant enough. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable regarding coeliac disease and needing gluten free. First night we had lovely fresh and tasty pasta dishes. During our first visit we saw the steak and decided to treat ourselves the next night with one. Reasonably priced overall and good quality.

19-08-23 We revisited this amazing restaurant for their steak Florentine. Absolutely amazing! We were served by Angel. Perfect service, absolutely flawless. Absolutely delighted with our experience at this Italian gem! From the moment we stepped in, we were treated to a culinary journey that surpassed all expectations. The Ravioli with truffles was an absolute masterpiece, delivering a burst of rich flavors that lingered on the palate. Equally impressive were the homemade garganelli, which combined sausages and ricotta cheese in a harmonious dance of textures and tastes. But it wasn't just the food that left us in awe; Alessio and the staff provided impeccable service, ensuring our dining experience was nothing short of perfection. This restaurant has certainly set the bar high for Italian cuisine, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable gastronomic adventure. We also received a complimentary traditional Italian Liqueur!

Walked by earlier in the day so thought I’d make this my last evening meal out. Friendly service, however the spaghetti with clams was quite tasteless & not enough seasoning or sauce. House rosé was good and thought I’d chance a dessert. The panna cotta was beautiful and saved what would have been a complete disappointment. It’s a large establishment and from my experience there’s a quantity over quality feel to it, but it just may have been a poor main choice on my part

This place had the nicest staff in my trip to Italy. They were welcoming and answered all my questions. Two of us ordered the beef lasagna, a pizza, and the florentine steak. All were incredible, especially the steak and lasagna. Reviews called it a tourist trap but the food was better than many ‘authentic’ places I tried. The restaurant itself is conveniently located, large, and beautiful. There are comfy chairs and cute decorations that make for great ambience.

This restaurant is saved under my favorites as “Our Place” if that tells you anything about how heart-warming and excellent this restaurant is. We tried all the most recommended restaurants for gluten-free and this was our favorite by far! We went to all the other restaurants once, and ate here five times. The gluten free pizza piccarda (bianca) and truffle ravioli was amazing! I thought I was eating gluten - I even double checked with the waiter. Don’t worry, no gluten issues here; they are very careful and I have celiac. My husband who eats gluten agrees it tasted like gluten dishes. He looked forward to eating gluten-free (very rare) and we shared all our dishes! Huge win for me! The desserts were too sweet for our taste, but granted our sweetness tolerance is below average. Lorenzo de’ Medici is the most quintessential Italian restaurant, so warm and cozy inside with a festive family feel, especially in the later dinner hours. The waiters were excellent, gregarious and recognized us just our second time back and remembered my drink without me asking! Giacomo was our waiter our first and last time and really made my birthday dinner festive. Highly recommend. Also Massimo was so fun. Oh Florence I love thee! I hope to see you again this coming year. And this restaurant will be our first stop!

Very nice restaurant. Beautiful view, one of the best surprise in Toscana. Good gastronomy, service with sympathy, not expensive price, comfortable and easy to find and arrive. I strong recommend visiting this restaurant.

This was our favorite dinner in Florence, and definitely our favorite place for steak (and trust me when I say we tried lots of Florentine steaks)! We had had the tortellini soup, Pici with boar ragu, pizza, and a smaller Florentine style steak with white Tuscan beans, and it was all so delicious! We were blown away! There is something for everyone in the menu, and it’s all so delicious! The staff were incredibly friendly too, which was the cherry in top. We will be sure to return next time we are in Florence, and highly recommend to anyone looking for a great meal during their stay!

Lorenzo de Medici in Florence is a culinary gem! I had the pleasure of dining there recently, and I can confidently say it offers the best pizza, pasta, and steak in the city. The food is an absolute delight, bursting with flavor and prepared to perfection. What sets Lorenzo de Medici apart, besides its outstanding cuisine, is the exceptional staff. They are not only incredibly helpful but also warm and friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. This restaurant is a must-visit for anyone seeking a remarkable gastronomic journey in Florence. Gluten free menu

I don’t know why people put anything but a 5star. Massimo is the best host. He stopped us on the street on our way to our hotel when we arrived to Florence from Positano, and said « come here anytime I will treat you well ». We came back for diner, well he did and our party of 8 loved it. Great food, great ambiance.

The atmosphere and interior decor are welcoming and there is a buzz in the air. The food came haphazardly, for example the T bone steak arrived on its own without the veg or anyone else's dishes. When the chips arrived, they were cold and the food overall was mediocre. However, our waiter was charming and apologized for the service.

Good value. The Florentine style steak came with roasted potato, bread, and some greens. For 16.5€, the portion is fair. I had an Aperol Spritz for 7€, which is the average price at a restaurant. I waited 35 mins for the steak to arrive. It seemed a bit long because I was dining by myself, but it wasn’t bad. The restaurant is close to the Basilica San Lorenzo and situated in a corner building planked by two lanes, hence providing plenty of seating options. Staff was friendly.

The most comfortable gluten free eating experience I have ever had. The bread for the table was delicious and when my pizza arrived I had to take half home as I was too full 😂 Wood recommend to anyone who has specific dietary requirements.

Visited with my wife and 2 children on our first night in Florence and we were treated to an excellent meal. Wonderful pasta and pizza for them, and the best gluten free pizza I have ever had. Washed down with wine, beer, aperol spritz, coffee and limoncello, we really could not have asked for more. Molto bella!! <3

The staff were wonderful. They greeted us with smiles, kind words, and jokes. They made the experience 10x more enjoyable. The setting was AMAZING. The vibes were so cozy and romantic, it felt like a warm hug. Although all customers were couples, we came as a family and had the best night. I also loved the songs they played. The food was delicious! They had lots of options to choose from. I had the truffle ravioli, and my family shared steaks and pizzas. I tried both the margarita and 4 cheese pizza; I recommend the 4 cheese pizza, it was amazing, while the margarita was ok. I didn’t try the bread, but my family didn’t enjoy it. Overall, for the price and quality of the food, I’d definitely come back!

The spaghetti alle vongole has a sour taste that really isn't good. The dessert is over sweet as well. The cheesecake is like ice cream fluid, totally don't get it, this is nothing like the local food. Giusto per chiarire, sono di Firenze e conosco benissimo il gusto Fiorentino.

The ravioli in a truffle cream sauce is not to be missed! The staff were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. There’s covered outdoor dining as well as inside. It was the perfect place for us to stop for a late lunch after a full day of shopping.

Went twice, planning on going again for our few days in Florence. Outstanding service - prompt, warm, friendly. Food was beyond delicious - entire menu can be made gluten free, including gluten free ravioli in truffle sauce (one of our favorites, a two-time ordered dish, so addictive and well executed). Also should emphasize we ordered three large entrees, one appetizer, and four glasses of wine, and the dinner bill came just under 70 euro - wow! We also had bruschetta, a few other pasta dishes, pizza, appetizers, Chianti Classico (many glasses), and gluten free bread with local olive oil and balsamic :)). Pasta made in-house, no difference in quality, taste, or care between gluten free and regular orders. Confident to vouch that the entire restaurant is a home run! A MUST VISIT for everyone.

Super delicious food. The staff was so kind explaining about each food and also adopting based on our needs. Desserts were amazing and good Atmosphere.

My local guide said this was a typical restaurant in the area. I ate the wild boar pasta which was very nice. We also really enjoyed the dessert. The service was very polite and helpful. They serve bread at the table which is unsalted. My local friend told me that bread in this area is often unsalted because salt was heavily taxed in the area at one point. So she said it's common to find unsalted foods in the area to this day. It was a great experience. They do have gluten-free options as well if that is a concern for you.

Stumbled upon this place while walking around and so happy we did! Everything we had was delicious. Our waiter recommended both our food and wine! Couldn’t have picked better myself and you really can’t beat the prices.

The best gluten free pizza I have ever had by far!! They even make the dough by hand with their own blend of gluten free flours that they’ve been testing for years. Absolute must try if you’re in Florence with Celiac disease or gluten intolerance! And Rimon was the best waiter :)

We ate here repeatedly for several days and every time the food and desserts were great. The whole staff is very professional and friendly. We would like to especially thank Rimon and David, who took care of us all the time. We will definitely be happy to return here, we recommend the restaurant 🤩 Barbora and Dagmar from Bratislava/Slovakia

The Florentine steak was to die for! I was originally debating because I can get steak anywhere but this exceeded my expectations. The Arugula and Parmesan Ravioli was also divine! The customer service was fantastic. Our waiter was so nice and gave great suggestions.

Four other pizza places were closed in February on a Tuesday night. We ended up here. Great pizzas, calzones and beef! Great atmosphere. One of our young teenage boys said, "if I had money, I would leave a big tip!"

Over our trip to Florence we visited this restaurant on three occasions! Corrado served us for dinner two nights ago and was fantastic! His level of attention, service and friendly personality made our evening most enjoyable! We can’t thank him enough , especially as we are both gluten free and required extra assistance with our food! A big thank you to him and walid - 10/10 recommend 😍

I am an Australian Coeliac who visited this restaurant and I can happily say I was blown away with the choices and variety that was offered to me. Service was incredible and the waiter was hilarious. Would definitely recommend to both coeliacs and non coeliacs as they make gluten meals as well!
