We came here twice when we visited Florence last year and came here again when we visited last week for lunch! Last year, we had Fried Polenta with Porcini mushroom (was a bit salty), Lasagna (would recommend), Pappardelle with Boar sauce (would recommend), Stewed beef with a black pepper sauce (would recommend), spinach for side, and tiramisu! This year, we came back for the lasagna, pappardelle and tiramisu! Had the chance to try Spinach souffle with gorgonzola cheese cream and Spaghetti with clams too. The food portion for the price is very decent. It isn’t as expensive as other restaurants so it’s bang for your buck! Great service and atmosphere too. We came in early when they opened for lunch at around 12pm so it wasn’t busy. However, I do remember dinners being very busy so would recommend to book a table. All in all, great food and great experience! Would definitely come back if ever we visit Florence the 3rd time!

Great ragu pasta, antipasta shareable cheese and meats plate and chocolate soufflé dessert. The staff are hard working and attentive. A tip, let them know when you're done and ready for the next course. Also best to reserve as it gets busy. Affordable house wine bottle for $16

Walked in and hardly waited, the staff were so accommodating and welcoming. We had the house wine which was delicious and a main each with a shared side of potatoes. Everything was delicious and cooked with love. We had a great time and although we only have 2 more nights in Firenze, my partner wants to come back for dinner tomorrow.

We gave it a try considering the nice reviews. Perhaps we have been unlucky with our choice of food. It was decent food but a bit bland. They bring you salt and pepper and olive oil at the table, which works fine for salad and meat, but not so well for pasta and soup. The place needs a little bit of tlc, there was a hole in the wall. The waitress who served us was very kind but we left a bit unsatisfied, thinking the food taste was a bit touristy. A real pity! I would avoid the tagliatelle ai porcini but I saw good reviews on the lasagna, for who wants to give it a go.

Overall, not bad food, but contains a lot of fat and heavy (maybe we chose poorly). The waiters responded quickly, but the main dishes took a long time to be served. The staff is very friendly.

I visited Osteria Pepo on my last night in Florence, and it did not disappont. The restaurant was busy and there was a short wait for my table, even with a booking. However, once you sit down, you understand why the restaurant is so popular. I would highly recommend visiting, but be sure to book ahead unless you don't mind a wait. All of my food was lovely, and being a solo diner, it was nice to see 1/2 bottles on the wine menu. Seeing other people's food in the restaurant, I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu! I had the Tuscan antipasto to start, porchini tagliatelle and pana cotta with berries

Wonderful place with a delicious homemade food. We come there accidentally but it was a right spot for us. I eat Trippa alla Fiorentina and it was incredible tasty, the pasta with mushrooms was delicious too.

Highest quality and best value in Florence. We've been to this charming non descriptive restaurants for years near the tourist restaurants. It is consistently great. They now have a menu by scanning but we just ordered what was on the chalk board on the wall. We ordered the large Florentine steak for 2 for 25 euros. It was one of their specials. It was soooo delicious! The 6 people that came in right after they saw our steak and each couple ordered it and devoured it too! Our waitress has been there the last 6+ years (as long as we have been there each year since then) and has always been so nice. They normally have a full house during normal times. They were closed for 8 months during covid so we were elated to see that they made it. The quality is fantastic and the value is bar none. You have to turn the block and find it. Well worth the find.

Authentic experience, fresh food, mouthwatering wine. I ate the best plate of lasagna here! A great place with some original decorations and very kind and warm staff. A must-visit!

The BEST gnocchi by far we had in Florence. Their bistecca alla florentine was also the best, and we had it at a few places in town. Service was great, food was incredible, prices fantastic.

Went there for dinner, amazing relaxed atmosphere. Waiters were extremely helpful and explained all the dishes. Food was very good and rich. We got the truffle ravioli, porcini mushroom tagliatelle, roast potatoes and bean soup.

Came in on a rainy night and was seamlessly seated with no issues (we made an online reservation). Traditional dishes were excellently executed and the house wine was terrific. Would recommend for a solid local culinary experience.

Giving it 1 because I cannot give 0. Firstly, we received free Prosecco before dinner which was nice and tasty. Additionally the lasagna tasted very good. But that’s where the good ends. The service was extremely slow for us to order - we were sitting for about 40 minutes before someone took it. We had a train to catch and couldn’t wait forever so after 30 minutes of waiting I asked a waiter if he could take our order. He was very rude and told me “no I am dealing with another table right now”. Then I heard him tell the table behind us “thank you for waiting, some customers are very impatient”. 10 minutes later someone takes our order and the food arrives very quickly. Although the lasagna was delicious, the porcini tagliatelle was awful. Not only was the pasta nowhere near as good as it was in other restaurants (especially in Bologna) but the mushrooms used were canned, and mushy - no colour or flavour on them other than dirt. The dish was not pleasant. Nobody around us had finished their pasta which shows none of the pasta dishes were good. We then had dessert which was a chocolate soufflé. However this is false advertising as this was nowhere near what a chocolate soufflé actually should be like. It was a chocolate cake - not even a lava one where the chocolate pours out. It did not have the texture or the taste of a soufflé and the cake had also collapsed on itself which the kitchen covered up with some whipped cream. Do not come here - instead go to Giannino in San Lorenzo. Not sure how this restaurant has such a high rating but it was very disappointing and the staff were extremely rude.

A bit.... racist? Asked for a table for 2 and got told they were full for the night, even with 3 tables empty at plain sight. Then a couple of white americans came over and got sited right away. Food looked good but it's a shame this kind of behavior.

Just read the other reviews. What they say is spot on. The only things I can add are; lasagna and ravioli are worth buying 2 servings. We ate here 2 out of our 3 nights and wished we went 3 for 3. Honestly, I’d just go back for the lasagna!!!!

👍👍 You'll always see queues, but they are actually quite fast, so don't stress! They helped us with recommendations.
