My Wife & I visited in March this year on our first trip to Florence. Of ALL the restaurants we tried during our 5 nights in the city, this one was by far the best for dining experience & food. It's small intimate dining room is lovely, the service is attentive & the menu interesting & thought provoking. This man can cook risotto ! In conclusion visit this fantastic wee restaurant with excellent food, this Scotsman thoroughly enjoyed his evening & wished he'd visited again before our trip ended. Until next time Barbagianni !

Doesn't quite have the 'traditional' aesthetic of other Italian restaurants, dark cosy tones, but the simplicity lets you focus on the great food and service. Our waitress was a fun and welcoming character, had us laughing many times. The food was delicious! We had pasta to start, both simple looking dishes but the tastes were fantastic (Tuscan sausage and the Gnudi - a new comfort food find!) We then went for two of the steak dishes (Sirloin with pepper sauce and Tenderloin with balsamic sauce) both great dishes! The potato side dish seemed small for €6 however the steak was plentiful and you don't need many sides with it. We also had tasty spinach. We drank a recommended local red wine that went perfectly with our steaks. Lovely evening.

What a wonderful spot, tucked away from the busier parts of Florence in an unassuming, but beautiful dining room. Though the options for dinner are more limited than other places in Florence, it is only because everything is cooked to order by the owner or his sous chef with such care that you can taste the freshness of every ingredient that was hand chosen for the dish. In addition to the food being spectacular, you'll be guaranteed some of the best wine that Italy has to offer, chosen by the owner himself to pair with your meal. The hospitality was next to none, and the whole time I felt like I was dining in my own family's kitchen. This place was such a treat, we are even trying to convince the owner to franchise in the United States! Don't miss out!

Perfect! The food was delicious and the service was incredible. He is trained as a waiter, chef, sommelier, pastry chef, and chocolatier. You will be treated as family here and you will be satisfied with the food. The ingredients are fresh and the food is cooked to order. I did not have time for any pictures because I was enjoying the food. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Delicious food but, the service was so unbelievably slow. It was a 40min wait for cheese followed by an hour for our second course. Sadly this took away from the experience, bearing in mind it was later reservation (9.30pm) with only 3 other tables being served.

We had the most amazing dinner here! Efrem, the owner was so attentive and accommodating. This was the best service we have had in Florence. We started with the picci Chianti pasta. It was delicious and fresh. I ordered the pistachio crusted slow cooked pork for my main dish and WOW! It was so tender and flavorful. My fiancé had the beef filet with balsamic reduction. The beef was phenomenal. The best we’ve had in Florence…. A must try! We let Efrem pair our wine which was a great choice. The restaurant was very fairly priced along with a beautiful atmosphere. I definitely recommend coming here when you’re in Florence. It’s a must.

Dinner at @cantina_barbagianni was an interesting one. Despite booking months in advance we seemed to be stuck in a secondary area which had no atmosphere and made service difficult as the busy area was downstairs. We waited a really long time for someone to even be there to seat us, it was like we had walked into a closed restaurant. The food was ok but my steak was well over cooked. She did offer a remake and when I declined took 50% off the bill which I appreciate. The serves for the price were small but the food tasted ok. This experience was way too chaotic and the level poor to want to come again.

Maremma cignala bono! Amazing! Food, service, location, price. Everything was excellent, served in an old medieval underground space. Perfect location, especially when the weather outside is warm. The meat was astonishing. Home-made bread... olive oil from Tuscany.. delicious!

Lovely quiet restaurant. The family was tired after a day wine tasting and this was just right. Tried the local specialty gnudi (spinach, cheese dumplings) which was delicious. The lady running front of house was great and made sure we were well fed. Also, one of the other tables had a birthday cake delivered and spontaneously the entire restaurant sang happy birthday. Kind of silly, but I think everyone enjoyed and indicative of the atmosphere.

Google suggests that this place is cosy and it is 100% right. A nice little authentic Italian where we had a meats and cheese board to share before having ravioli and spaghetti with clams. I felt the portions were spot on as it is quality over quantity. We also had a lovely chanti to go with the dinner which went down a treat

Took 4 girlfriends here and It was their favorite place in Florence. The basement was quiet and comfortable and the service was fast. I recommend all of our dishes but especially the Ravioli and the Tiefenbrunner Sav Blanc

Exquisite Tuscan food and attentive, friendly service. The menu is new so most of the options listed here on Google are no longer served. But fear not, the new menu has some great choices.

We are a group 5 and we had a transformative culinary journey. This is the best restaurant we have visited in Italy so far and we HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place. The food was incredible and the staff was amazing!! We loved the ravioli in Parmesan fondue, lemon and pepper linguine, ricotta and spinach gnudi, pecorino with jams and honey, beef fillet with balsamic, the chicken Marsala, the chocolate lava cake, and the crème bruleee. Amazing hidden gem, went for my a birthday and we had a spectacular meal. Gnuddi with truffle were the best food I’ve had in Florence, and the cheese plate is honestly very good value for money, the cheese and jam/truffle honey pairing were out of this world. They even put a candle on the tiramisu en the end. Would definitely recommend and go again

What an amazing place in a beautiful city. From the moment you arrive until after you leave, you feel special coming here. The food is superb and the service is exceptional. We had the special beef fillet with porcini mushrooms and a sirloin with green peppercorn sauce both were cooked perfectly and the side of sautéed spinach was amazing. Rose is the most welcoming host and you are sure to feel looked after with her at he helm. There is a belief that you can only regret the things you don’t do. If you don’t dine here when in Florence then you will have something to regret.

Very nice food and service! A cosy place to eat with abslutely delicious food and a very welcoming and nice staff, that offer great service. We will definitely be back, the next time we go to Florence!

Such a wonderful memorable meal. Food was delicious. Wine was fabulous. The waitress really went out of her way to be accommodating and friendly. The restaurant is truly authentic and a hidden gem and very romantic! Highly recommend. The chef is outstanding! The creme brûlée was the best I’ve ever had.
