Review Update: We visited in December 2023 and were unpleasantly surprised to find that the restaurant had sold and the new owners did not and could not keep up the quality of the food, wine or service. We will not return. We discovered this restaurant in July 2020 during the period between lockdowns in the Netherlands. Where we had originally planned to go for lunch was closed and we stumbled upon Vetreria, peeked inside to see local business people having lunch. Hands down the best pizza ever, crafted by the master, Donato. The wine selection is curated by Alberto, and no choice has ever disappointed. On our second visit, we learned that the predominant pizza menu was due to Covid and the full menu returned when we visited again in October. Unique dishes that are anything but typical Italian. Refined presentation, uniquely prepared excellent ingredients. We are sure to visit at least once when we are in Florence. Vetreria has become more and more popular, regardless of the day of the week so be sure to make a reservation.

The hanging steaks and good reviews brought us here. Unfortunately, they didn't have pizzas the night we ate. Which is sad. The resturant had a good vibe but it had to be 80 degrees in there. Very hot. Our server was pretty slow (slower than other tables). The food was very good. We got 2 types of pasta and the Italian steak. All were amazing. Would be 5 stars if it wasn't so hot and the server was a bit more attentive.

While walking through the streets of Florence this place caught our eye so we decided to stay and have our late lunch here. It turned out to be a great decision, because first of all the service was very nice, polite and fast and second of all the food was amazing. We’ve started with the pizza (yes, we were pretty hungry), continued with a bistecca, potatoes and fresh bread, accompanied with a Chianti Classico from Villa Montepaldi and nicely finished with a pistachio tiramisu. What can we say, it was extremely delicious, we stayed there for about 2h just enjoying the food, the wine and finally having a chit chat with the owners, which are very nice and also food passionate people. We recommend anyone to come here and eat, you won’t regret it. It’s definitely a place where we will always come back when in Florence. P.S. My wife and I just had a wonderful meal at Ristorante Vetreria . I had noticed this beautiful small restaurant as it was only a block from San Firenze Suites our hotel. Very modern and contemporary interior with enough of the old facade that you knew you were still in Firenze. My wife ordered a special pasta and as I had had pasta for 7 days straight I ordered their gourmet burger- It was amazing with their special Italian Mayo . We have been fortunate to visit Firenze three times in past six years and this is now our favorite ristorante

We had dinner at this venue, recommended by a local. It was a good recommendation. We ordered the Filetto, a Hamburguer, Evoluzione di Pasta, and a plate of prosciutto crudo (not a menu item) -all plates were very good to excellent. The restaurant was full when we arrived and the host gave us a complimentary glass of prossecco to enjoy while we waited for a table, which was ready 15 minutes later. The service was courteous and friendly. The food was fresh, prepared as requested, particularly the meat plates, and served quickly. They also have a full complement of steaks, which I didn't enjoy, but the cuts looked exquisite. When I asked for the check, the waitress offered a complimentary shot of limoncello, which was fantastic! Great restaurant, don't hesitate to have your meal there.

We had a decent meal here. Lovely wine, food for us was a little underwhelming. Asked for a smaller steak when it was presented and felt forced into it when we stated it might be a little too big. Sure enough we couldn’t eat it all. Service was nice and attentive but needed some work on delivery.

After eating lunch here and blown away by the calzone and pasta, we decided to come back the next day for steak. We ended up with the same waiter who was excellent. The steak was shown to us beforehand and then cooked to perfection.

We had lunch here today, and it was in short, exquisite. 100% fresh ingredients all around. Pizza made in an authentic pizza oven at 800°. Wagyu pizza was a different experience for sure, and we loved it. Had the sirloin steak, beef burger among a few other things. And an old fashioned!

Outstanding food and atmosphere. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Special thanks to Gabriella who steered us through the options for the fantastic bistecca alla Fiorantina. Helped match the wine to the steak wonderfully.

The other 5 star reviews of this restaurant were right, excellent food! We ordered homemade pasta with wild boar sauce. There was not an excess of pasta and what made it even better, I actually had sauce left over! Often you end up with the pasta soaking up the sauce and it being fairly dry and without flavor. Not tonight! I was very happy with the portion size to cost. My partner ordered minestrone soup. It seems that Italian soups are like American stews or in America they just really water soups down. Very filling with fresh vegetables. We hit up 2 highly rated restaurants on our own “Tour of Italy,” we had gelato between courses while we walked between the 2 restaurants. Note: After missing a chance to eat at some other restaurants for lack of reservation, it’s strongly recommended to make them if possible, or come early in the day when the restaurant opens. We got lucky as we leave Florence tomorrow and many restaurants are closed Monday. buon appetito!

Nice place to visit. Food were so amazing. We ordered t bone steak about 2 kg. It's for 3 portion for us. Also like pizza.

During our stay in Florence this restaurant was highly recommended to us by the locals. We decided to give it a try and were not disappointed. The service was absolutely amazing from the start and the food was phenomenal. We had the most gracious service from Erica & Kady who recommended delicious dishes and were so kind and friendly. If you get the chance don't hesitate to visit Ristorante Vetreria!

The T-bone was delicious ! Perfectly cooked. And the ambience of the restaurant was really agreeable, I really recommend this place

It was the 2nd time that I visited this restaurant for a random night, also one of my favourites. I was attracted by its great variety of wine selections at my first visit, not only wines consumed commercially, but also other options like natural wine. Luckily we could have a table which was booked on the same day. During the whole dinner, the service was beyond our expectation, that made us more enjoyable. The waitress who served us was knowledgeable about the wines we were having and introduced properly. Also the dishes were presented in a gastronomic way, the starter - beef tartare was my favourite, which with sundried tomatoes (the highlighted part) on top. Last but not least, having dessert to end a meal has become a must-do thing in Italy, and we could say that the tiramisù we ordered was TOP. The sugar is at the exact level and we could taste the well-balanced favour from every sip. The atmosphere of this restaurant is chilling even though it's already packed, plus a perfect location which is just 2 minutes away from Duomo. I strongly recommend it and I'd definitely come again.

If you like to find a place to eat high quality meat you must choose Vetreria... you have a variety of meats to be choose n and also pizza as well. Price is at the same level of quality... maybe one note is that tables sometimes are not as big as the space needed to be comfortable.

I've died and gone to heaven here. Had the oysters and gnocchi stuffed with bleu cheese. OMG! There are no words for how wonderful it was. Best food I've had in Italy. I'm back for a second time. This time I'm trying a specialty of the house: a Carmelized terrine of Jerusalem Artichokes

The service was amazing, the waiter was super attentive and nice! The steak tasted amazing but it was a bit chewy and we said that after which he brought us basically another big piece of steak as „sorry“! Really, this basically never happens for such an expensive product! The wine was also amazing, quite recommend the place.

The pizza is probably the best in Toscana! All other dishes we had were very tasty as well ! Both The pasta with tomato and basil, the pasta with clams were exquisite! Great selection of wines as well ! Highly recommended !

The service was good (they don’t speak a lot of English and they apologized for that). I would NOT RECOMMEND the tasting menu. The oysters were too fishy and funky and the cod dish was only ok. The pizzas and pastas were the best and we should have just ordered a la carte. Not the best meal but a fun spot for a pizza or pasta and wine. The dessert was amazing.

We got their at 11 and they had already started closing the kitchen so we could only get pizzas and starters. The pizzas tasted good but they had to much olive oil and some water was floating on top. The beef tartar wasn't good. It had no seasoning or anything in the meat. Tasted more like beef sashimi. Service was very good. They had great air conditioning. Restaurant ambiance also very nice.

Local recommended it to us. Unique dining experience with elevated Florentine cuisine. The risotto is worth every penny.

Had a great time here, with great food, ambience and highly attentive service! We went here for a date night and shared a 1.4kg bistecca which was cooked beautifully and well seasoned, and 2 entrees being the beef heart and mullet sashimi, and the beef tartare with foie gras and truffle which was a standout!
