Lovely location. Beautiful grand old hotel. Super helpful and attentive staff. This hotel has potential to be special again, but management has let it go. My room was €831 per night and based on the pictures and reviews was expecting something 5-star. What I got was a shamefully filthy carpet, fixtures askew, and dirty walls. Until management invests in updating the rooms and some maintenance, you can do a lot better. It did have a lovely view.

I had the best stay in Florence at this wonderful hotel. The rooms were incredibly spacious, providing a comfortable and luxurious atmosphere throughout my stay. The breakfast was consistently excellent, never failing to satisfy. The service team went above and beyond, meeting all of my expectations with a warm and welcoming attitude. I must mention Leonardo, the concierge, whose exceptional service and local expertise truly made my stay unforgettable. I can't wait to return to this exceptional establishment in the heart of Florence. In addition to all the other wonderful aspects of this hotel, the rooftop views were simply stellar. Gazing out over Florence from the rooftop was a breathtaking experience, adding a touch of magic to an already remarkable stay. I highly recommend this hotel for not only its superb accommodations and service but also for the unforgettable vistas from its rooftop.

This hotel is right on the Arno river and we wake up every morning to the most beautiful view. Dusk was my favorite time with the most amazing sunset from our balcony. The interior of the hotel is amazingly beautiful and in traditional Firenze decor. The breakfast buffet was out of this world. The room had a king bed and a twin bed for my daughter, which was perfect. She mentioned the fitness center was huge but you do have to make reservations due to Covid. The rooftop bar was bustling with guests during dusk and into the evening because it offered the most fantastic view of Florence. We took tons of pictures up there! Finally, the service was outstanding. From the concierge, who were SO helpful in arranging restaurant recommendations and reservations to the valet to the restaurant staff.. everyone was super helpful and courteous. As a platinum member, we appreciate and recognize top notch service, and the Westin definitely hits the mark!

The rooms and service at this hotel are great. We booked a room with a balcony facing the Arno River and loved just drinking wine and taking in the view from the room. The hotel is decorated with classic art that really immersed us into the culture. It’s also a convenient walk to everything, as well as getting to and from the train station. We didn’t make too much use of the concierge but the staff was very welcoming and helpful, probably the nicest of any hotel we stayed during this trip to Italy. They lent us 2 umbrellas on the one day that it rained.

We just returned from Christmas holiday with our daughter at the Westin Excelsior and, being fortunate enough to travel the world and stay at amazing resorts and city hotels, I have to say that the Westin Excelsior and everyone that is a part of it make this establishment outstanding. From the impeccable front desk to the highly professional and knowledgeable concierge team to the hostess for breakfast and the management team on the rooftop bar the Westin Excelsior is the way a five star, top-notch resort/hotel should be run. They are the true definition of excellence.. Our rooms were spacious, clean, updated and true perfection.. Till next year same time same place we wish all of the staff a happy healthy and safe new year.. R & S Stone

Fantastic hotel in the heart of Florence (Firenze). Service is exemplary and the staff is incredibly nice. Truly a five star experience. The breakfast food was pretty standard, but the ambiance is absolutely on the next level. Highly recommend! For the record, the rooftop restaurant was worth it too; complete with a brilliant, rare, and relaxed rooftop view of city sites.

What a fantastic hotel! Amazing views from the restaurant/bar of all of Florence, gorgeous rooms with chandeliers (& all the extras like robes and slippers and coffee pod maker). Staff was courteous, spoke to us in English with no problem. Breakfast was awesome, an egg station for made to order eggs, and so much variety. I’d consider myself lucky to ever stay there again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 10-night stay in May at the Westin. Our room was very comfortable and we loved the balcony which gave us a full view of historic Florence. The service was excellent. The Sesto Restaurant was also excellent as was breakfast every morning. The staff was outstanding. It is a beautiful hotel, very convenient. Thank you very much for our wonderful stay at your hotel.

Beautiful hotel with very nice rooms. The service was great, very nice and accommodating. The rooftop bar has beautiful views and there are indoor and outdoor seating arrangements. If you order an omelette for breakfast, it takes some time because of the number of orders. They might invest in another omelette cook. The location on the Arno is beautiful, but it is not near the center of the action, which can be good or bad depending on your preference. It’s less than a 10 minute walk to the train station. The gym is small and somewhat of a maze to find.

Wow! So beautiful. Stunning rooms. Beautiful & comfy. Appreciated the daily water bottles. Staff extremely helpful. Truly the best front desk staff we’d ever encountered. We had an issue with a gift card (Rome Westin had overcharged us), and the Florence staff took responsibility for resolving it. Location nice. Roof top restaurant/bar is a must-see. We had drinks there during sunset. Fantastically beautiful view of the city. Was one of my favorite experiences in Florence. Note: no coffee/tea service in room, but plenty of options nearby.

We had an amazing stay here during our honeymoon. Staff was super welcoming and did everything for an unforgettable stay. They organized an absolutely beautiful upgrade, sent us champagne on the room and even opened the rooftop restaurant for us 30min earlier.

I have to say, Francesca at the front desk, is super personable and defines hospitality. The hotel is perfectly located and well-kept. Breakfast was very good. The view of the city is nice! Bath amenities were tiny bottles that make me think of “this is how Teddy Roosevelt would have wanted to smell”. Not my favorite. The historical charm of the place is not lost on me but the sole overhead light fixture, a beautiful chandelier, always flashed when turned on. In a nutshell, a refresh wouldn’t hurt for the least expensive rooms that are still $500+ per night. The rooftop is beautiful, but it’s only a bar until the restaurant opens at 730. We don’t drink and neither of us have a taste for rabbit, so that was a no-go. I pour through reviews and I usually nail hotel stays, but this one was underwhelming for me.

Will certainly stay the next time I'm in Florence, I stayed here for my birthday and there were complimentary champagne and fruit tart when I checked in to my room, very nice touch (I am a Marriott Bonvoy member, not sure if that made a difference). The room I stayed in had views of the Arno river and loved watching the sunset from the balcony.

This was absolutely the perfect stay at a historic hotel (previously a monastery in the 11th century). A special shoutout to Stefano for being especially accommodating and going the extra mile to ensure my grandfather (wheelchair) and family would have adjoining rooms. We were upgraded to rooms with the best view in the city of the river, city skyline, and landmarks that was breathtaking at sunset and sunrise. There were so many extra nice touches to the trip (again courtesy of Stefano) such as wine, cookies, fruit, and chocolate that made it more special. The rooms were exquisite, large, well furnished, and beautiful. The staff were able to add a third smaller bed to each room as well. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was delicious and really had something for everyone: scrambled eggs, mushrooms, broccoli, chicory, ham, bacon, sausages, salmon, eggrolls, meats/cheeses, fruits, pastries, yogurt, bread, cereal, juices, omelet station, etc. The concierge and lobby staff were great at getting us taxis and helping with luggage. The location of the hotel is right on the Arno river and within walking distance of the Duomo, Galleria dell'Accademia, Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio, etc. and also around a 9 minute walk from the train station (or very quick taxi ride). There are multiple restaurants, grocery stores, and gelaterias near the hotel. We have been to Florence twice, and will definitely be back again. I highly, highly recommend the Westin Excelsior, which truly deserves its 5 star rating!

Great location right by the river and easy to walk to all things in Florence. Historic charm while still being very nice. Staff was very helpful. Concierge helped us get a last-minute reservation to a super popular restaurant (that they also recommened to us). Hotel room was nice and comfortable. Cleaned everyday, including turn down service. King Bed was actually 2 twins pushed together which was unideal, and shower/tub was raised so kind of hard to get up into, but manageable. Breakfast was included due to my status and it was a very nice spread, including a good amount of gluten free options. I'd definitely stay again, thank you!

Such an elegant place with a rich history just like everything else in the city! The rooms were fairly large and the bed was amazing to sleep on. The restroom was spacious enough and also decorative. The service given by the staff was top notch. Great views from the roof top as well. Overall a great place to stay!

It's tough to put into words how absolutely PERFECT this hotel was. But the biggest highlight of our stay was how incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful Francesco was throughout our stay. Mainly, he attended to us in the breakfast area, but he also seemed to find us in other areas of the lobby and was always so incredibly kind, professional, and helpful. So props to FRANCESCO!!!!!!

Heart of Florence. Absolutely breathtaking hotel. Impression starts from the first steps in the lobby. Starting from valet parking person service just immaculate. Highly recommend restaurant. Beef tartar meticulously prepared in front of you to your liking.

We stayed at the Westin Excelsior Florence for 3 nights. Good location close to city center. Special mention to Daniele who is working In the valet, he made sure to assist us with our car and leave it in front of the hotel for the night. He's a really nice guy and definitely made our trip worth it at the Westin !

Screw this property, vibes were bad from the get go. 1. As soon as we checked in (we were on our honeymoon mind you), I was charged an ‘extra person fee’ of 80 EUR per night for my wife to stay with me lol. I wasn’t charged this at any of the other Marriott properties I stayed in within Italy, including the more prestigious St Regis in Rome. 2. Almost tore my ACL getting out of the bath tub because they keep it on this unassuming elevated platform. Very easy to slip on. 3. As mentioned above, Staff at the front desk sucks, I have status with Marriott and wasn’t treated with warmth when I checked in. I was almost treated with skepticism due to my extra person. It was very weird, never experienced this before at a Marriott at check in. I was exhausted from our drive into Florence too. 4. Rooftop bar is a great view but very expensive (relatively to Florence). I lived in NYC For a long time and it was equivalent to an upscale bar there. I don’t think it was all that. 5. Outdated aesthetics on the interior of the hotel but I didn’t really mind that considering it’s Florence. Understand they want to keep that classical historical look. housekeeping staff was very nice and prompt, we left them a tip for their hard work.

Quieter location next to the river with views of Florence. Not in the middle of the tourist area yet 5-10 minute walk from it. 10 minute walk from the train station, easy walk if you don't have tons of luggage. I'm a Marriott Bonvoy member but was disappointed at the lack of detail you expect from a property like this. We booked for 3 people, checked in online and room was ready but upon arrival even though the room was ready it was not set up for 3 people. No third bed, glass, wine glass, towels, robe l, slippers etc. We were tired from a long trip so having the third bed set up would have allowed us to rest sooner so we could start sightseeing. Bed was set up after a couple of phone calls but it altered our plans to maximize our day. Spacious room with living room, 2 tvs, desk, small fridge, safety deposit box but no coffee maker or tea kettle in the room, hot water has to be requested from room service. Spacious bathroom with shower, tub, bidet and 2 sinks. Aside from the lack of detail the service was good from the concierge staff to the dining staff. Beautiful property but disappointed.

Beautiful historic hotel located next to the Arno. Walking distance to many famous landmarks and museums including the Accademia (David), Uffuzi, and Galileo museums. The Excelsior team is friendly and ready to help at a moment's notice. The rooms have an elegant, historic charm, but are subtlety modern where needed. Traveling to the Excelsior is easy, as there is valet service and the hotel is an easy 5-10 minute walk from the train station. The rooftop restaurant provides unmatched panoramic views of Florence. We'll definitely stay at the Excelsior on our next visit to Florence.

Dear Domenico As a titanium elite, I wanted to publicly state that Westin Florence is one of the best Marriott properties we have stayed at, and certainly the best Westin we have stayed at. We came to your amazing property in March, and loved every minute of our stay. Your staff was amazing and the roof top bar/restaurant with amazing views of the Arno and Florence was breathtaking. We enjoyed the best sunrises and sunsets along with incredible views of the Duomo and the city of Florence. Sipping a super tuscan on the rooftop, with a view of the sunset along the Arno, and cool March breeze blowing through the historical city was truly an out of this world experience. WE CANNOT WAIT TO BE BACK. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

It's very nice facility, however for $750/night the staff is extremely lazy. My room wasn't cleaned properly. I kept finding other people's hair in the room and dust everywhere. Gross! They didn't dust properly. The valet staff was lazy. On the night of June 18th or 19th we waited 20 mins for someone to greet us and take our keys for Valet which we paid $45 per night. Then some guy ran out saying they were short staffed, he opened the good for the guy I was with, but didn't open my door. My friend had to tell him to open the door for the lady first! JUS A WARNING... This is NOT A 5 STAR HOTEL! 3 STAR service at best!

Loved this hotel! The room was really nice and the service was great. I loved the turndown service and the rooftop was BEAUTIFUL. Great location too. I highly recommend for all types of travelers.

It’s an excellent hotel with a fantastic location right in the river. The staff were all great as was my room. It’s a very solid choice that’s right next door to the St Regis for half the price.

We had a large room with a small balcony. The room was clean and well appointed. The staff was exceptional. Breakfast buffet was excellent. The hotel is nicely situated and you can walk to many key areas. The hotel is about a 10-12 euro ride from the train station.

One of the best hotels in Florence. Everything was perfect and enjoyable. The room was well decorated with a great view to the river. The breakfast is worth it in this hotel as its in the rooftop. The food was so delicious. The decoration in the hotel is traditional and authentic place. Concierge service was good and the car park cost 33€.
