I thought this was a nice cute boutique hotel. The room was in fairly good shape although the toilet seat was cracked but didn’t impact business. The room we had was nice with a comfortable bed. There was lots of room to store luggage off the floor. We started off using the windows to cool the room down however we switched to the air conditioning as the mosquitoes were annoying. The breakfast was quite good with an assortment of pastries, cold cuts, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fruits and more. I went for the wine and snack mixer one night which was nice. One thing to note is there is no elevator from the street level to the first floor. It’s almost two stories up. You can buzz up for help with suitcases. The location is very central to many sight seeing and tourist areas. We found the tour locations meet by the train station which is about 15 minute walk. From there the tour group walks further outside the city centre to meet the bus. It took about 20 minutes to walk the luggage to the hotel. Lots of people walking suitcases so you won’t feel out of place.

We only spent a night here but regretted not being able to stay longer. Spacious, comfortable, and excellent service. Location is excellent and the value you get with such reasonable room rates can't be beat. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Florence!

Loved this hotel. Hotel staff was awesome. Always friendly and very helpful. Included breakfast was excellent. Great location; room was clean and spacious. Wasn’t able to make free happy hour but sounded wonderful. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel, very nice staff, clean rooms and the afternoon tea and happy hour were fun additions to our stay. We struggled a bit with a pram up and down the stairs as the elevator does not go from the street all the way up and also stops at reception at night. Overall very nice and highly recommend for a central hotel that is a bit more fun than traditional hotel experience.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Davanzati. Besides lugging our bags up the steps to the elevator (which they warned us about when we made the reservation), every moment at the hotel was perfect. The front desk staff was always courteous and gave us many restaurant recommendations, all of which turned out to be exceptional. The room was much larger than expected and laid out well. Breakfast was a lovely feature, as was the evening happy hour. The location was also excellent and allowed us to come back to reset between visits to the sites. We highly recommend this hotel.

A gem in central historic Florence Felt like a boutique hotel in a historic building. Not easy to find with just a small plaque outside the entrance. Very central in the middle of all the sights and a 10 minute walk from the train station. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Anyone who finds climbing stairs difficult needs to be aware that there are 20 plus steps up to the hotel entrance from the street. Staff are happy to help with luggage. Well equipped room with comfortable bed, fridge, tv, two chairs and safe. Room was quiet with windows closed and effective air conditioning. Plenty of plug sockets including next to the bed, and ample storage space, with hangars. Spotlessly clean. Lovely big bath towels. Ample breakfast with a good choice including fruit, yogurt, cereals, bread, croissants, cheese, ham etc, but not much variety each day. Freshly made filter coffee and cappuccino. The free availability of fresh apples and water, plus the free afternoon tea and cake, and free drinks with crisps and peanuts in the evening happy hour, more than made up for any minor quibbles about breakfast.

Leonardo at the front desk is super, his dedication is apparent and the property is lucky to have him. Our room was spacious and clean - larger than expected. The common area had a nice Christmas tree. The breakfast was fine, they had sufficient choices and made drinks to order. Since we were there for only one night we were out and about but if we had stayed in the tea time / wine hour would have been a good option in the afternoon. We didn’t mind at all the short flight of stairs to get to the elevator to get to reception when we checked in (my four year old daughter climbed them with ease.)

If you’re staying in Florence, you cannot beat this place. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with our bags. Although we arrived 2 hours early, they were able to get us access to our room quickly. When we got to our room, it was so charming! The bed, the small private alcove, and the bathroom added a lot of character to our stay. In addition to breakfast, they had a tea time (simple sweets and tea) and a happy hour (free prosecco/chianti with peanuts + chips). I wish we could have stayed longer, but if we do go again we will definitely stay here again!

I had a fantastic stay here while travelling solo in Florence. Reception is staffed 24 hours and everyone who works there is so lovely! The rooms were nice and clean and the bed was very comfy. I booked into the single room but it was a comfy small double bed. The location is great too, couldn’t recommend this hotel more!

I only stayed one night at this hotel, but if I knew about it before I might’ve stayed here for my other Florence trips as well! The location is nice, the rooms are clean, and the service was amazingly friendly. There is a breakfast, tea time, and “happy hour” (pleasant, quiet time in the dining area with dimmed lights, music, and complimentary wine) included. I also want to say, this was the quietest hotel I’ve stayed at in Florence. Many of them you hear people all night or you hear cleaning/trash pickup. Maybe because it’s farther from the duomo, where some of the noisiest hotels are, but it was completely quiet.

Everything about our experience at Hotel Davanzati was outstanding. The staff is super friendly and willing to help in anyway possible. The room was very nice, and the breakfast in the morning very robust. There are a lot of stairs to climb to get to the lobby but well worth it you want to stay in the heart of Florence. I highly recommend and will certainly book again when in Florence.

First room was not great and smelled of smoke. They immediately moved us to a much nicer room for the next 2 nights. Great breakfast. Really good coffee. Excellent location.

Spent two nights here in November. The third time I have stayed at this hotel. There is a reason I keep coming back! Great location...easy walk to everything in Florence. And the rooms are nice. But, what makes this place work is the staff. Friendly and helpful, the staff here is fantastic! I highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Florence.

Totally different experience staying here. The front desk is very nice and helpful. The rooms are beautifully decorated old school and modern style. Good breakfast to kick off the morning and yeah the first flight of stairs is a must to access the hotel. But they’re helpful to bring luggage up and down

Can be a challenge if you are having heavy luggage to carry one level up to where lift is. Other than that, good decent room size, amenities, good temperature control during winter, and huges thanks to the hotel for accommodating us for earlier breakfast. Decent choices and we like it.

Wow, Hotel Davanzati is an amazing hotel! The hotel’s location was great. It was walking distance to the train station and to many historic locations. The staff at the hotel were so kind and helpful. Anytime we needed a recommendation they were always willing to not only recommend, but also call to make a reservation for us. The breakfast was delicious and we loved attending the happy hour. We would definitely recommend staying here when in Florence.

The stay here was amazing. The staff was incredibly nice and personable. Love that it is family owned. They definitely made sure to make us feel like we were home. The happy hour was so fun and such a nice thing to do for their guests. We loved this. The location is also great. This was the best hotel we stayed in during our 2 week honeymoon in greece and italy.

Nice hotel in the heart of the town. Very close to the train station and the museums and cathedrals. The staff are nice. The rooms are quite spacious and you can see the touch of old architecture which surrounds the town. Moreover, they offer you really nice complimentary breakfast, snacks and drinks in the evening. Only downside is you have to carry your luggage to the 1st floor through approx 20 stairs. Once you’re on the 1st floor, you can use the elevator.

Had an amazing experience at this hotel. Got upgraded to a larger room at no additional fee. The concierge staff was very friendly and provided amazing recommendations of where to eat and drink. Even went as far as making dinner reservations for us. There is a complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea/coffee, and apertivo time included. The room was very clean and spacious.

I highly recommend staying at the Hotel Davanzati! There are so many reasons that make it the perfect place to stay in Florence. First, the staff is incredibly welcoming and helpful. Second, location location location. They keep it extremely clean and the beds are so comfortable. I stayed in a single room and it was the perfect size for me and had a sizable/roomy bathroom.

All the good reviews I had read of this hotel proved to be spot-on. Leonardo and the staff provide excellent service and care. They are always available to answer questions and provide assistance, including where to find a good hair stylist. We enjoyed the junior suite which gave extra room to relax and spread out. It was particular useful when we needed space to organize suitcases for the trip home after a month of travel. As far as the 26 stairs to climb before reaching the reception area, I was a little concerned but practiced some stair climbing the week before going. With handrails on both sides of the stairs, I had no problem up and down several times a day. (I am in the elderly category.) We loved the ambience of this hotel with its charming retro elegance. It has a warmth that the glitzy fanciest hotels don’t have. I should add that the bed was great and the shower excellent.
