This hotel IS NOT SAFE! We were ROBBED IN OUR HOTEL ROOM!!! My husband and I returned from dinner at the hotel restaurant on the rooftop and from grabbing some gelato from across the street to find two men robbing our room. One man was in the hallway as a lookout and another was in our room trying to drill open room safe. When they saw us they tried to run from the room. We split up, my husband followed behind down the stairs and I took the elevator. They tried to nonchalantly walk out the lobby front door. My shouting of just being robbed prompted two front desk employees to try and follow them. They split up and got away. This experience was the worst experience of our lives. It’s not liked we were robbed on the streets. It was in a locked room on the third floor of a four star hotel!!! Their response was simply to put us in a new room, apologize, and told to file a police report in the morning, the hotel did not even notify the police. My biggest concern is our safety! We were on the third floor around two corners! It is very likely an employee targeted us. We were later told by another guest his wife had seen them head towards our room as well. The manager when we checked out said it’s likely because we were on the third floor and not in plain site that we were robbed, it’s a big hotel, and the stairs are open to public going to restaurant. Definitely would’ve appreciated them taking some bit of responsibility. Stay safe and find somewhere else to stay. This ruined our honeymoon and the rest of our trip! We have traveled to third world countries and never felt so unsafe or had an issue like this.

I picked this hotel because it is a historic location. I knew to expect a rustic experience. The room staff are spectacular friendly and very accommodating. Rooms are clean and the bathroom is upgraded. The hotel itself is a dark setting, Im a bright natural light person. The right side of hotel is centralized to many site seeing locations 10 - 20 minute walks or take the Train to Tuscany as we did last, the station is a 5 min walk then a bus ride (get your ti let first) and another 5 min walk to Leaning tower of Pisa. I do love an antique vintage setting, it’s the main reason I choose this hotel it’s nice to see some art on the walls as you enter the elevator. It’s secure in a sense of only key holders can go up the hotel elevator love this feature. I asked for a view room which I did get just be ready for some street noise if you open your windows. I requested a few modifications for health purposes and the staff immediately rectified it. I really appreciate this as it made my experience so much better. Thank you to the room staff once again so pleasant and always with a smile on their face.

I took my parents to Italy in May 2023 and when traveling to Florence we stayed at the GHB booked through Costco travel. Location near the train station is great. Our room was fine for three of us. Bathroom/shower were nice too. My father had clothes cleaned by the hotel and it was a quick turnaround and very affordable. We ate breakfast every morning at the buffet and it was delicious! The view from the restaurant, a full stomach and a couple cappuccinos is a wonderful way to begin your Tuscan excursions. Viewing the skyline from the rooftop bar every night before bed is another perk of staying at this hotel. I’ve booked another trip to Italy in Feb and will be staying here again. I can’t wait!

We stayed here for a family vacation and service was very rude and disappointing from the check in desk. Our flight had arrived early so we got to the hotel by 11am. Traveling with a child we atleast wanted to use a bathroom and wash up even if our room wasn’t ready. The brunette in the front told us in a demeaning way that checkout is noon and that we are not allowed to check in till 2pm. Also that usually there is a charge and that she was doing us a big favor if we got our room early. Since we had been traveling for the last 18 hours I asked if there is a bathroom and if we can all wash up there. She said yes. So a bell hop takes our bag and shows us to the bathroom, which is in a dark hallway and NOT gender marked. So we asked can we all go in and use like a family bathroom ? He said yes. He says we can take our luggage in. So we go in and open up the suitcases and after about 10 minutes someone tried entering. We let them know we were in there. They did not stop. The hotel staff never made it clear this was not a shared bathroom ! In fact they let us in!!! Our suitcase was blocking the door. So a very rude man Francesco comes and pushes the door in and says we need to come out. When I say rude…rude is an understatement. I have never seen anyone that disrespectful to women and kids in all my international travels in 35 years. When we tried to explain that the other bell hop let us in and saw us all enter with luggage they did not want to listen . Francesco snd the brunette just kept saying we have to come out and it is not a shared gender bathroom. The staff do not understand English well and have no manners. I do not recommend families to stay here. There are tons of mosquitoes and you can hear every noise from You room. Breakfast wasn’t great. One of the worst staff I have encountered.

The perfect location. Good breakfast with amazing view. The rooms are ok, the parking service is nice to have however nearly 100 euros for 2 nights.

Everything was very good except the receptionist. The hotel is located near Florence Santa Maria Railway Station. It is very convenient if you have large luggage. It takes about 5 minutes to walk. The interior of the hotel is decorated. Extremely beautiful. The reception desk doesn't smile or provide information. The bedroom is very good, the bed is very comfortable, the decoration is beautiful. The breakfast is very good. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very good. Good vision. Most of the staff are very good. They should train a warm and hospitable receptionist. Because this seems to be a very important disadvantage

In general, I liked the hotel stay very much. -There is a super roof terrace where you have a great view over all of Florence. -The hotel is very clean and the rooms as well -The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom very nice and very clean -The breakfast was ok but relatively simple (in my eyes for a 4 star hotel much too little because it was to count on 2 hands what there was to eat). -The staff was very helpful and very nice especially the "porters" and the people in the restaurant. However, what bothered me a lot was the lady at the reception with the name TERESA. She was very unfriendly in contrast to her other colleague. When I asked her for something, she almost waved me off and just gave me an unfriendly and stroppy answer. I don't understand how you can miss your job that much but if you work in a hotel at the reception you should be friendly and helpful and that was not the case at all! On the whole 4 out of 5 stars also because of the good location

Nice room, a little noisy, good views, however I don't know how this hotel has 4 stats...the service of the staff was really below par, there is no gym or spa facilities. We couldn't get a reservation at all for a meal on the terrace (we were here for 3 nights) and also 1 night not even a table for a drink. The staff made you feel as a hotel guest that you were below standard. Considering there are so many tables up there clearly the kitchen isn't big enough to handle all the covers. Really put a downer on our stay in Florence.

Everything about this hotel is fabulous. Next time I come to Florence I will stay here! The staff was so kind and accommodating. I think this is one of, if not the best hotel experience I have ever had. And the view was absolutely killer

We had a lovely 1-night stay at the Firenze hotel and enjoyed meals at the rooftop restaurant overlooking stunning views of the city. The service was impeccable. The staff were very welcoming, patient and kind. We had a beautifully decorated and spacious room. My only complaint was the construction noise nearby that woke us up early, but this was not in the control of the hotel. The hotel was the perfect location near the train station. Highly recommend!

The Grand Hotel Baglioni is conveniently located near the train station and only about 10-15minutes walking from the Duomo. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are spacious. The hotel staff was fabulous and gave us amazing recommendations and made reservations for us for dinner. The breakfast was great and came with even better views from the 5th floor restaurant. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Florence!

We stayed here several days on our stop in Florence during our Italy Tour and while this is an historic Hotel with a fantastic Staff at the Front Desk, Restaurants and Housekeeping... the Rooms themselves could have been made a little more convenient for certain Guests. My Wife has vision problems and she could not do any reading during our stay. There was no shelf space for your Toiletries in the Bathroom. There were only 2 Electrical Outkets accessible for our powered Devices, and the power was only on when you left your One Key (they wouldn't issue Two Keys for some reason) in the special Slot near the Door... which means nothing left on Chargers while you we out would charge. The WiFi was weak, unsecured and generally worthless. That's a big problem when you travel with Medical Devices that need to be charged & connected to the Internet. Great place if you don't plan on using your Room other than for sleeping.

I love this hotel! This was my third trip to Florence and my third time at this hotel. I’m only rating it a four due to some issues we encountered at checkout but have since been resolved. The hotel is a historic piece of architecture, right in the heart of Firenze. It’s a two to three minute walk to the train station, about the same to the Duomo as well. Its location is central to many of the tourist attractions in the immediate area which makes it an ideal location to make your base. Since my last stay in 2015, they’ve done a lot of renovations to the lobby area. It was almost unrecognizable to me. The update is splendid. I believe it’s Venetian plaster on the walls with this really cool texture and they’ve added so many seating areas where you can sit and chat, wait on your group or taxi or people watch as the area has windows looking out to the street. The rooms are more to original Baglioni or at least my memory of what is was. So, it still had this vintage and old world feel with archways, large furniture, and beams along the ceilings. It’s so cozy. Our room was on the patio so we had full access to sit and enjoy the weather. I would only say that we had a few ants in our bathroom (daily) … I’ll attribute that to the fact we had a patio. My advice, if you opt for this room bring some or get some bug/ant spray. Breakfast is alway amazing. The variety is simply incredible with everything from croissants, to mini donuts to pound cakes, hard boiled eggs, fresh mozzarella and tomatoes, toast, scrambled eggs, an array of sausages, prosciutto, salami and a pancake machine. This is just one side. On the other side, you have fresh whole fruit and cut fruit, yogurt, salad, coffee, water and a variety of justices.the breakfast staff stays busy and is always of service. The view … on my gosh. In the dinning hall, the panoramic of the Duomo is simply stunning, but not to be outshined by the view from the terrace. I appreciate the front desk staff addressing my issues and I look forward to returning.

I visited Florence on Aug 18, 2023. After roaming around in the city, we were trying to find a taxi. It was 10.45 pm and we were very stressed. I went to the reception of this hotel and requested the young man on the reception to help me. He quickly offered to call a taxi for my family so we could go to our hotel in Vespucci. He helped so readily, and we were not even staying in his hotel. I forgot to ask for his name, but I hope he and his management read this. Next time, I would like to stay at their hotel. Best, Grateful tourist

In 2019. we visited Florence. Our experience in this hotel was outstanding. Our room was upgraded to one with High ceiling. So beautiful. The view from the top is amazing. Close to train station.

We were pretty disappointed in this hotel. Check-in went smoothly. Nice but not overly welcoming. The lobby was gorgeous. Every time we walked by the front desk, we were barely acknowledged. They looked at us, we said buongiorno and typically got no response. The rooms are big enough but old and dark. You can barely see anything. We tried to open the windows but they are physically hard to open. There is zero soundproofing. I can hear full conversations from the people next door talking about how they slept. We could also hear the restaurant above us. No sleeping in past 6 AM when they start preparing breakfast. Breakfast is a madhouse. The tiny elevator fills up before 7 AM and people rush in. It feels very crowded. It is a buffet. No service.

TOP TOP!!!! :) Perfect location, just in front of the station (but very quiet, and my room was super quiet, as I desired). Mattress are very modern and comfort (the right equilibrium to embrace the body). I slept very well. My room was simple (classic) but with everything I needed to work in peace and sleep nicely (also I requested a room in a quiet position, and with the bathtub - they put me in the perfect room for me). I tried the amazing rooftop bar (it is the best to look all around Florence). I am so looking forward to coming back!!!! thank you so much!!!!!!!!! Simona (room 446)

Nice hotel in walking distance from the train station. We travelled to Florence after a few days in Venice. The train ride was great. The walk to the hotel from the train station was only a few minutes. The breakfast in the morning that is served on the upper level is exceptional.

Beautiful, historic hotel steps away from the train station in the heart of Firenze. Our room was lovely, very clean, and the staff was fantastic. Only nitpick was noise, the walls are a bit thin so you can hear what your neighbors are watching and hear when those above you are bathing. Otherwise a great hotel and in a fantastic spot to walk to just about anywhere in Florence you'd like to see.

This Hotel is a Beautiful Gem in the middle of Florence. It is close enough to transportation, food, sites, etc. The room was clean, bed was very comfortable, service was impeccable & the Breakfast is definitely delightful & Picture-worty! Would definitely Recommend this Hotel 10x over. Can't wait to go back!

This hotel is ideally located close to the train station and local attractions all in walking distance. We stayed in a garden room, very well appointed with a fabulous garden terrace. The rooftop terrace provides stunning views over Florence, I doubt you find a much better backdrop. The hotel is historic and luxurious. Wonderful

The staff are super friendly and always willing to help with anything. We thought the room we stayed in was very nice. The hotel is very formal and has a nice homey look to it compared to regular hotels. The maids always are so good and we loved the free refillable mini bar. Only thing is the rooms are weirdly placed since this place has been around for a while so its kinda a maze to find your room and there were 6 steps in the hallway we had to haul our luggage up. The breakfast was also super good with a great view.

Fantastic hotel. Makes you feel like your in Florence. Had the room with a Garden and what a class choice that was to be able to get away from the unexpected hustle of the city and just chill with a glass of wine in peace. Staff are helpful a d friendly, look forward to going back.

I'm writing this review to offset the "safety" review from a few months ago. I hesitated to book here after reading about it but I'm glad I didn't let it influence my decision. I felt very safe in this hotel. Whatever happened probably could have happened anyplace. The rooms are nice and adequately equipped and the bed was comfortable. The staff, though I rarely interacted with them, were polite and responsive. I had no problems so I can't comment on their ability to address issues. The rooftop bar/restaurant is a huge bonus and pretty wonderful. My room did have thin walls and neighbors could be heard but the noise did not exceed what my Bose Sleepbuds could mask. Also, the location is especially good for those traveling around Italy via train as it is an easy walk, even with luggage, to and from the train station. Overall I'm happy with my experience and would encourage anyone who wants to be in this part of Florence (close to Santa Maria Novella and the train station) to consider this hotel.

Great location, very elegant and historical place, staff is super friendly and happy to help. There is a restaurant on the top floor, the quality and presentation of the food are impeccable, and the view is suggestive, with big windows showing the Cathedral in all its splendour. Rooms are interesting, very woody and comfortable. There is nothing I would change, my experience was extremely positive and I would recommend spending at least the time for a dinner: it may not be cheap but it’s fairly priced for the quality and the experience you get in return.

Dirty toilet bins from the ex guests in 2 rooms , during the night cockroach on the bed!!! The answer from the manager on duty about the rooms with dirty bins (sorry mistake) and for the cockroach ( we cant do any for the animals). About covid no protocol

Loved this hotel!! It has newly renovated lobby areas to relax after walking over the city. Our room had an outdoor space that we used in the afternoons. The staff are so helpful and friendly and our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The views from the restaurant were fabulous and the food exquisite. Could not have chosen a better place to enjoy beautiful Florence from.

Great location. Good service and some nice touches to make your stay more comfortable. The only issue was the security of our room; it was difficult to make the door feel secure as it is an old wooden double door that with a firm push would open.

Truly a grand hotel and with cozy, well utilized rooms, great service, in an exceptional location. Room had high ceilings and finishes that were a perfect setting. The gorgeous rooftop was fully booked though, our oversight..

What an amazing location for a hotel and the rooftop bar and terrace is just a treat! We stayed for two nights and it’s go convenient, you can walk from the train station to the hotel (2 blocks), and you can walk everywhere in Florence and it’s perfectly central. Rooftop terrace wa just an absolute surprise and was so nice to enjoy with a glass of wine in the evening and their breakfast in the morning.

very nice hotel.. location was perfect rooms were clean but one major problem was that why inside this hotel there is not security camera? my passengers camera and a gold ring was stolen from inside the room and they said that we do not have the security camera! finally they told us that we will follow up the insurance policies and still nothing since 2017!
