We traveled all over Italy and this is by far the best hotel. Every aspect was amazing. Great food! Great rooms! Great service from EVERY ONE! Loved the roof top- the pool, the restaurant, the service, the food and I dearly miss the bar tender (he was on the roof and down stairs). He was the best bartender I've ever had in my life. It's close walking distance to so much, we literally roamed around on foot throughout the city. Can't wait to go back!

The hotel is pretty and historical yet dated, but well kept at least. Service was great inside, but slow at the rooftop bar / pool. The pool and rooftop alone are well worth dealing with the dated and small rooms. The biggest room for improvement would be the air conditioning / fan abilities as the rooms are so stuffy and humid. The breakfast is nice and plentiful in options, but not out of this world. The location is outside of the city center which is appreciated in the busy summer months but does require more walking.

Pricey but worth it. We got a superior double with view and the room was spacious enough and clean. The bathroom had a full-sized tub/shower, although the tub narrowed a lot at the bottom. The location was perfect, easily walkable to attractions but a couple blocks east of the busy, noisy tourist area. The staff were very helpful with dinner reservations. Breakfast buffet was delicious. Guest WiFi only worked in the lobby area. The only negative incident was at the rooftop bar. We went up there after checking in to get a drink and enjoy the view. It was only half occupied. I went to the bar but the woman bartender told me to sit at a table and she'd bring us a menu. 15 minutes later, no menu, although she looked at us a half dozen times, as did other wait staff. We finally left and went to the lobby lounge, where we were served promptly.

I have added photos in response to the hotel's response. Our original room definitely is not shown on the website as stated in their response. Our agent contacted the hotel immediately on our behalf with no success. People need to speak up and share their bad experiences at this hotel. We can’t be only the second people to be sent to a disgusting, tiny, horrid smelling room. The room was dark and so small we weren’t sure where we would put a single suitcase. The bed was rock hard. I sat down on the bed to call the front desk for a different room and found a flea crawling on me. The front desk person put me on hold and came back and said it would cost us an additional 300 euros PER NIGHT. I stated that we would need to see the other room and she then came to the current room and took us to view the other. We had no choice but to pay the extra amount. The lobby and restaurant are beautiful but step off the elevator and you are met with filthy old carpet. I don’t think the carpet on their very prominent staircase was vacuumed the entire time we were there. We didn’t use housekeeping because, feeling scammed, we didn’t want hotel staff in our room. When we called for toilet paper, towels, etc, service was instantaneous and the staff were very nice…which is why I give service two stars.

Such an amazing stay here. We were here for 5 nights and this was our first stay within a foreign country (from USA). A staff member came outside before we even got our luggage out of the taxi, and immediately helped take luggage in and direct us towards check in. The check in employee happily showed us a map of Florence, highlighting must see spots and talking us through it. The employee who met us outside also took our luggage to the room for us, amazing!! The room was clean as well as the bathroom. Unfortunately, the door was difficult to close and always made a loud noise as we had to push it hard. The rooftop gives an incredible view, it was a bummer that the pool was closed (still cold outside). Our stay was also made excellent due to Samuel at the bar. He was friendly and easy to chat with. We felt comfortable when Samuel and other employees took the time to recognize and greet us when they saw us come in/out. Samuel was so incredible and he truly made our stay feel great. If you visit, please go say hello to Samuel!

Hotel Lucchesi was fabulous! My fiancé and I thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay here. It was definitely a 4star hotel and we have nothing but good things to say about the staff, the room, and the amenities. Relaxing in the room in the big bathtub was ideal after an already tiring 5 day journey and was perfect for a mid trip break. The breakfast was amazing! New Years Eve on the rooftop was spectacular. There was a beautiful view of the city day and night, and a great location to see the city light up at night. Located next to the Arno, it was the perfect location for us. Highly recommend this hotel!

Stayed in Family suite. 1 x King on mezzanine, 2 singles for teenagers. Both with en suite. River view. Roof top terrace is immaculate, pool I heated but would be fine in summer. Staff are truly exceptional and will help you with anything and everything. Location is perfect. Town a short walk but means it’s quiet. We will be back for absolute certain.

Great service; we stayed in a suite and it was clean, comfortable and had a great view. Breakfast was included in our rate and was excellent. It is a short 10 min walk from the Uffizi Gallery and the shops. View from the roof (where the restaurant is located) is awesome. Perfect place for an afternoon cocktail. The menu is a little skimpy, but appetizers and drinks are great.

Absolutely love this hotel. Make sure to take aperitivo at the gorgeous bar just near the lobby and definitely reserve for dinner at the restaurant, an incredible experience. The bar and restaurant staff go beyond great service, you feel like a VIP guest. You also have the possibility of the rooftop bar for drinks, food and pool! The only thing I would say to watch out for is the surprise we got of "adjoining rooms", I would never have booked a room like this if I knew. What is adjoining? When a door separates the rooms, usually reserved for a family or group of friends. We could hear the couple's conversation in detail, we could hear them in the shower, on the toilet, drying her hair, washing her teeth, I mean the lot! The front desk said to me "this is normal". Is it? In all my stays in 4 star and 5 star hotels around the world this was a first for me. So in short, during your booking be sure to NOT have adjoining rooms especially if you're a couple or single, this you may have to precise over the phone or by email, unless you would like to have one amusing evening :-)

My wife and I stayed here a few nights on our honeymoon and loved it. We have a room with a balcony overlooking the river. It is walking distance to everything you would want to see in Florence. The breakfast was great. Having a rooftop for the sunsets is also fantastic. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. I would very much recommend this hotel!

I have never felt so welcome! The staff was absolutely amazing. They offered to help us practice our Italian, recommended excellent restaurants, and met us with a smile at every turn. We LOVED having breakfast at the hotel. The staff began to feel like our family and the food variety was top notch! Our room was neat, clean, and came with a towel warmer. Such a treat! I cannot say enough good things about the Plaza Hotel Lucchesi and would go back in a heart beat. Thank you for a lovely stay!

The hotel is not bad, but reuires maintenance & rennovation, the furniture starts to look old, same as bathrooms. The rooms on the pictures of their official web are bigger than in reality (or this is the biggest room that they have), so you don't get exactly what you expect when checking in (we asked to change our room for bigger and htel staff were nice to do it for us). Also they told us bar on rooftop terrace is cosed, but we can access for nice views, but the terace was closed. Views on the river were nice, breakfast was also good. I can't say it was a bad experience, but I would not recommend this hotel esp. for the price they charge per night, you can get a better deal in Florence.

We really loved this hotel. The staff was polite and the views were breathtaking. We would definitely stay here again if it weren’t for the room situation. The mattresses were very firm and hard, and the cleanliness of the room wasn’t the greatest. The rooftop bar/pool was awesome and makes the hotel worthwhile by itself.

We stayed there for 6 nights. I definitely recommend this hotel. Pro: Great service, clean room with the view, and nice breakfast. Free cellphone for guest. Awesome roof top view. On site concierge service to book day trips or tickets to museum. Free daily water bottle refill. Con: It is 30 minute walk from the train station. The bathroom shower is little small.

Beautiful hotel, wonderful staff, excellent location! The bed was so comfy, and the slippers they gave us were very nice! The hotel bar/cafe was also amazing. We would stay here again in a heart beat.

From the moment we set foot in the foyer to the (very sad) time we had to leave, we were treated as if we were the only people in this beautiful hotel! The attention to detail is outstanding. I asked for flowers to be in our room on arrival (at a modest extra cost) and the flower arrangement that greeted us when the very helpful concierge opened the door to carry our bags through was stunning. As were the views over the Arno from our room and especially over Florence from the rooftop bar. The location of the hotel meant we could walk to most locations in under 20 minutes although if you are wanting to get to the train station I would advise taking a taxi. Again, all I had to do was ask the concierge and the taxi was there in 5 minutes. Obviously, this is one of Florence's more expensive hotels but it is impossible to put a price on its ambience and style, you really have to see it for yourself.

We recently stayed here and our experience was made very special thanks to Daniel who works at the lobby bar. He was incredibly helpful, hospitable, and friendly. Additionally, we were blown away by his espresso martini. Best we ever had. If you’re looking for the best espresso martini in Italy, look no further!

Great hotel with an amazing rooftop bar perfect for sunset drinks. Aldo from Concierge was fantastic. He had great tips and suggestions. There was a taxi strike the morning we left and we wouldn’t have made our train transfer if he hadn’t personally driven us to the station himself. Would recommend this hotel.

This hotel was absolutely amazing. The rooftop and pool have an incredible view. The service is amazing and the hotel concierge service is extremely helpful with any needs you have. I will definitely stay at a Plaza Hotel when I am traveling in the future and recommend it to my friends.

Great hotel, staff very responsive and welcoming. Roof top bar is hit or miss great views but so busy we couldnt get a seat. A unique location đź‘Ś quietly away enough and yet blocks from all the shannanigans and dining options you could want.

This place will overcharge and scam you. Upon arriving I was shown a room the size of a closet which they said I could upgrade at 140 euro per evening to be in a decent room. Upon checkout they charged me 200 euro extra per night and said I signed a form in Italian. On the day of my checkout they also had a marathon starting at the door… which I was notified the day before at 3pm. So I would not be able to use the roads to get a taxi or any transportation. They said they were only notified the day before. They said I could call a taxi to meet down the street yet when I went to front desk they said they could not. My phone had no international service so I ended up walking with all my luggage over two miles. Left a disgusting taste in my mouth of Florence!

Amazing views. Great and friendly service. Not crowded and booking was easy. Only thing was the drinks were very expensive in comparison to the same ones you can find in any restaurant (€16 for an aperol)

We loved our stay at the Plaza Hotel Lucchesi. My husband and I were there for our honeymoon and the staff was tremendous. In the summer, the pool was a MUST! The rooftop has an incredible view and the relief from the hot days saved us. The air conditioning in our room was not wonderful, but otherwise everything was great! Would definitely recommend staying here if you want a good location, with an extraordinary rooftop!

Nicest hotel of our stay in Italy. Rooms were a nice size. Service was prompt and pleasant. View was outstanding. The rooftop pool was a definite perk considering it was over 100 degrees a few days ago. My only complaint was the teeny, tiny shower stall. A minor issue in an overall wonderful stay. Recommend.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff and location are great, but there is no way to control the temperature in the room below about 80 degrees. Very difficult to sleep at those temperatures. The beds were not very comfortable and the pillows flat. If you open the window to try to cool it down, the room will immediately fill with mosquitos.
