Reasonably large rooms with many updates in an old building. One negative is the there is no elevator that goes to the top floor. Complimentary wine in thr room. Walking distance to many attractions and shopping. Plenty of resturants near by. Ideal location. Clean rooms.

I'm so sad we only had one day in Firenze, because I adored Hotel Collodi. I've never stayed in a 2-star in a big European city and was trusting the reviews. I'm glad I did. The staff was super friendly, and made us feel welcomed immediately. They even had a free breakfast in the morning. We didn't have time to eat, but it looked like a perfect fuel up before a long day of walking around the beautiful city. The rooms were clean and spacious INCLUDING the shower and tub. The location is perfect - super quick walk to the train station and everything is walking distance. 100% would stay again.

The staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly. The rooms were clean and quiet large, but a bit dated. The breakfast was the smallest spread we had while in Italy. If you are on a budget, it’s worth it. If you are looking for food in the morning or afternoon at your hotel, this is not the place.

This hotel gave us the authentic feel of Florence!! It is a manor turned into a hotel, so each room is different…. It’s located right in the middle of town, so you can walk to a lot is sites and museums. It doesn’t have parking, but they work with a garage close by, so you can park your car right around the corner. (Just keep in mind that the streets are small and busy, so you will have to drive around a few streets to park). The hotel has the feeling like you are staying in a museum!! Like you are visiting Florence 200 years ago!! But I wouldn’t call it dated, they have good beds and bathrooms, everything is clean and comfortable. The staff is super friendly, they have a cute small elevator (just for 1 person and luggage) so the only con is that if you are staying in any of the upper floors you will have to carry your luggage upstairs… but it’s COMPLETELY WORTH IT!! Breakfast is included, you can explore the city on foot since you are right there… so that was another con: it was really noisy outside… a lot of young people laughing and having a good time…. It didn’t bother us but it might bother some people… but I am guessing that it’s not a permanent problem. I would come back to Florence for sure, just so I can stay here again!! (I loved it that much!!).

The views from our room are like you would imagine Florence a hundred years ago. It is an old building but with some modern amenities. Modern shower with good water pressure and most importantly, hot water.

Great small bed & breakfast in a great location. 10 minutes from the train station, 1 minute from the old market and a short walking distance from all the city’s major attractions. Clean, friendly and safe place.

The gentleman at the reception was perhaps the kindest person in the world, he helped us a lot. The room was very comfortable and very clean. It was one of the best boutique hotels I have ever stayed in. I will miss the comfort of the room, the sweetest Italian Uncle at the front desk the most.

My partner & i stayed at this lovely hotel in the spring. We extended our stay from 3 nights to 4 because it was so wonderful. From the warm welcome at reception on arrival, to the beautiful room & en suite (with fabulous shower), everything was perfect for us. The continental breakfast was as good as anywhere we have ever stayed & was constantly being replenished to ensure plenty for all guests. It has been noted in other reviews that noise from the road can be heard in the rooms but i would suggest that if this might bother you, not to stay in such a central and well located hotel. Walking to all the important sights was very easy. Finally, Giovanni, Nadine and staff were super, friendly hosts and go the extra mile to ensure their guests have the best possible experience in Florence.

Worst experience ever! I went with my family, and the guy at the front desk was nice until we told him we had internet issues. He came upstairs and told us everything was working fine when it clearly wasn’t. We had seven devices, and not one of them would connect to the Internet properly. All of a sudden he started to say it’s all devices and not the Internet, then one of his colleagues came upstairs and changed the router, and everything seemed to be working fine. When I went back down the stairs, I told him, Hey, it was definitely the router, and everything seems to be working fine. That’s when he started to be abusive and aggressive. And said you’re just like a broken record; you keep going on being very aggressive, and I told him to look at the routers fixed and everything seems to be working fine, and he carried on while I was sitting there; I did not want to so much as I had my family with me and we were on vacation. I called Expedia and told him the situation so they could actually move this out of there. While I was on the call to Expedia, he was in my face again, just standing there, not saying anything; we’re just literally standing there, and I told him to move out of my way, which took at least a minute. I am just saying the guy comes across very nice until he doesn’t like something you say. Trust me, I would not recommend this place for anyone to go with her family.

Quirky room traditionally furnished with modern equipment. Bed on mezzanine was comfy. Good aircon. Great quiet location by the markets. 10 mins walk from the station.

Fantastic find.. Great location, welcoming hosts, cool rooms, comfy beds and a fantastic breakfast… Family room was perfect for the 4 of us (2 adults and 2 children) exploring Florence.. We hope to come back in the future

Terrible experience with erratic manager who was screaming down the phone at me because we booked a triple room AND paid for the triple room but they tried to make us take an extra bed for an extra €40/night (even though my child would sleep in same bed with m) saying it was against hotel policy to allow people to share a bed! First time here, last time here.

Location, personnel, and cleanliness are all rated 10/10. Although I don't place much importance on size, luxury, or the breakfast, the offers are still suitable to me. If I visit Florence again, I'll stay at this hotel again.

I absolutely loved my stay at Hotel Collodi. It is the perfect location in Florence, just steps from the most famous attractions in the city and walkable to just about the entire city. The hotel has an old world feel in a good way, with all the modern amenities you could want, including the most comfortable bed I found in Italy. But the highlight here is the wonderful staff. I felt personally looked after and cared for my entire time there, from them noticing if I missed breakfast to someone waiting outside with me to make sure I got in my taxi ok. This was a precious home base for my time in my new favorite city.

Don’t be fooled by the 2 stars - for me it’s a 6 star hotel. When we entered we were welcomed by lovely staff who gave us good recommendations about things to do in the area. The room is quite big and you get a coffee machine, big bathroom and a really nice shower. The hotel is cozy and charming, will definitely come back!

Best Kept Secret in Florence Started Here a few years ago and just checked in for our second stay. Just like I recall, great central location, clean comfortable room, upstairs sleeping area for the kids. They've even added a coffee maker in the room with pods. Just steps to the central market, yet off the pedestrian thoroughfare and quiet. Great, friendly and fast reception, got our room am hour early. No reason to stay anywhere else, but don't tell anyone!

The room was small but comfortable and clean. The breakfast was limited. Wifi was excellent and the employees very friendly. The hotel is located in the center of the city close to main sights. There were no free parking lots near the hotel.

Locate it in the heart of Firenze, walking distance from all the city sights, the owner was kind and bring to us a nice room, cozy and warm, the breakfast is a good option to eat earlier and start your day, they keep our backpacks meanwhile we turn around the city before go to the station, quality warrantee... 100% recommended.

Great location, hotel clerks (a woman and a man) were pleasant and helpful, reasonably priced, clean, and the included breakfast has the best hot chocolate (push the "cioccolata" button on the expresso machine) you will ever have, seriously.

We loved our stay in Florence at Hotel Collodi - the hotel is in a fantastic location, and was surprisingly quiet, which suited us well. The room didn't have air-con - however, despite the 35 deg celcius heat outside, the room felt cool and a desk fan kept things very comfortable. The room was very comfortable and clean, and had a small fridge we could use to chill bottles of water. From the hotel, it's a short walk to Santa Maria del Fiore cathedral, and there are a wealth of great restaurants close by. The rest of old Florence is in walking distance too. We'd happily stay here again... and almost certainly will!
