The high rating reviews of this place are definitely fake! This is not a 4-star hotel. It is a hostel that looks like a dorm. Our room had no hair drier, no coffee maker, no hand soap, no night stand and no rug. The floor and walls were super dirty as you can see in the pictures below. There was only one outlet to charge phones and that was on a desk. The queen bed had lighting only on one side. Their furniture was the lowest quality possible just like the ones you can find in a dorm. They did not ever pick up the phone when we called the front desk. We had to go down stairs and wait for one hour to ask for a hair drier, which then they just did not bring to our room even-though they promised they would. We asked for an iron in our room and they said that we have to go to the basement use the irons. (How is this place a 4-star hotel?!!!) We asked them to clean the dirty floor and they promised that are going to fix it but they did not do anything. We asked to talk to the manager but they said there is no one there! No one even apologized for all of these. The staff were super irresponsible. Don’t be fooled by their pool’s pictures. Their pool is always fully booked and you don’t even need to be a guest to use that area. The hotel had a very tiny elevator for the area of our room which had more than 100 rooms. Each time we had to wait for ever to use the elevator. Avoid at all costs.

Nice hotel. Location is convenient, close to Florence central station. The room is clean and comfortable. Shower room is a bit small but okay. Many common spaces. The breakfast is good with a selection of bread & pastries, ham, cereal, yogurt, fruit, salad, coffee & juice, etc., typical buffet style. Housekeeping came in the morning around 9-10am for daily room cleaning. The rooftop bar has a very good view (can see the dumo) and a swimming pool. Overall had a good stay here.

Some great things about this place, some just okay. The hotel itself was very hip and modern. Cool atmosphere in the lobby. Great food at the breakfast buffet and restaurant in the hotel, we really enjoyed this. Service was hit and miss throughout our stay. At check in we didn't get much assistance, were asked to self check in, had to figure out the process ourselves and had a bit of a hard time finding our room with all the elevators available. When asked, the staff were helpful, but not overly friendly when walking by etc. Our rooms were dorm style and we were placed in the 'student rooms' section despite being holiday guests, I'm not sure if the other rooms are any different. The room was modern, however our shower and sink plugs seemed to be broken and the shower head was tricky to get right. Some parts of the room looked a bit unclean. The lifts took a very long time on most occasions. The hotel rooftop pool and hotel gym had the most incredible views of Florence which made up for the not so good things. We loved sitting out on the balconies and looking over Firenze. The juice bar has wonderful smoothies, juices, fruit and acai bowls available. We had two good experiences at the juice bar and one terrible experience with a staff member that was very unfriendly and rude. Notified management and they were very apologetic and attempted to right the not so great experiences which we were grateful for.

I visited Florence at the end of April and stayed at The Social Hub. I was really satisfied with its good connection to anywhere you want to go with buses and trams which you can take at the stops right outside. The vibe was really lively, with lots of young people staying there. Our room was beautiful and good size for two people, with a big bathroom. The highlight was the rooftop pool with the famous sign "The Beach is Boring" and the breathtaking views over Florence, where you can enjoy a cocktail during sunset!

A stay in this hotel was at least interesting. The student hotel? Pretty funny because the price really does not correspond to the name of hotel. The roof swimming pool is big motivation for booking of this hotel BUT when you finish payment of hotel you will found out that you can use swimming pool only two hours in day and reservation of seats around swimming pool is possible only during check in. So when we arrived to the hotel all seats around pool was taken this day. (I understand of booking of seats and it makes sense but why it is not possible to book it online before check in? Why is not the information mentioned on websites? People should know it before payment). The room is not anything special, bathroom is really small. We paid also breakfasts and it was really mistake. There were not so many possibillies what to eat. Only normal choice for us was eggs but we had to wait for egss half hour!!!

Cool branding! The lobby area is very nice and has a cool vibe!! Rooms are ok.. all in all clean but I wouldn't be coming back. Not enough outlets to charge phone, etc.. floor is old like inside and outside the room feels a little bit old, we found out that the rooftop area that was one of the things that made us book this place was closed to renovation only after we booked.. but the people at the reception are very very nice 🙂

Can’t give it more than 2… mostly because of price for quality. You should only book this if you get a good deal or just really really want to stay with the pool/view for a day. The roof top is open for all and free from 7 pm! Pool closes at 8 pm. We paid roughly 250 euro a night for king size bed (executive) and the place is NOT worth that! AT ALL! This is NOT four stars! This is a hostel. Add city tax to that (6 euro per person per night), this is way to pricey- you can def get better for the price. Maybe do one night here for the roof top… They don’t clean everyday, they don’t make the beds everyday- huge annoyance, honestly. Started to get very dusty too. Ran out of toiletpaper, and I asked to get some and get room cleaned/bed made. Came back to a pile of paper on the desk, no cleaning or anything. Seriously? After multiple complaints of lack of cleaning the following days, they cleaned the room - but no new glasses, these were just cleaned with hand soap in the sink! Staff is not really helpful, and they don’t put guests first (eg when entering an elevator), overall just a bit rude almost. Bed is extremely firm, could feel the springs, and at times it felt like it was gonna collapse... Some parts of the bathroom needs maintenance. Room is small, even at executive level. Bar is crazy expensive. On the plus side - the place is huge with many cool designs and such…

The rooftop pool was amazing!! The music, the drinks, the view! Such a vibe!! During peak time, you have to reserve a time slot for the pool, so make sure you plan time, it's worth it! It assures the pool isn't over crowded and you can actually get a place to sit. The property is huge and the elevators are kinda confusing, so just pay attention. The restaurant wasn't great, but it's convenient and there is a little cafe with sandwiches and pastries and also a smoothie spot with yogurt bowls that were really good and about 4 euros. There are free laundry machines that adds it's own detergent, but not many, so you have to reserve them on the app. We had a nice size room with a view of the pond across the street, but the bed was so hard. For being such a nice hotel, you would expect nicer beds. Overall, the property is beautiful and very clean and all of the staff we encountered were very nice.

Terrible - came here for a drink with 10 people. We ordered some cocktails (gin tonic without even a slime of lemon or lime..nothing!) and a bottle of white wine. It came with residue on the bottom of the bottle and this residue actually ended up on our glasses as well. When we kindly pointed this out to the bar man, he, quite rudely, said that it was normal. Mind you - it is not normal for white wine. And the rely in itself was absolutely unsatisfactory and unwelcoming. Will definitely not be back and I do not recommend it. What a shame as the place would be promising if the service and the quality would be up to par. I therefore urge the management to review these important aspects and improve quickly.

Staff is very kind however it is not clean (nor will it be cleaned if you ask), the food is overpriced, the amenities are often broken/overbooked and any issue you have will not be resolved. I had contacted the reception during my stay for issues and despite the kindness of the staff nothing was ever done. Most importantly the location is terrible. It’s only 15 minutes to the center by foot, however the streets are dimly lit and the park next to the hotel is widely known to be a hub for drug deals. Student have been attacked outside the hotel. Do not recommend for a short stay and absolutely do not recommend as a student studying abroad.

Location is really great. Even though it’s a students hotel, there seems to be lots of other guests staying. Wasn’t loud or super busy. Loved that we can do laundry for free downstairs. Staff at front desk are super friendly and helpful. Too cold to utilize rooftop pool area but has a cool view. Rooms are kinda small but work for a few nights, clean bathrooms, nice showers. Would stay here again

Unfortunately the cleanliness was not there. There were still handkerchiefs under the bed. Lots of dust on the furniture and in the bathroom. Also, I sent several emails and never got back. BUT the welcome and friendliness of the staff was perfect. The equipment of the hotel and the diversity of services is really satisfactory. We appreciate, of course, the atmosphere and the ambiance of the place. And even if my emails were not answered, my request for the room was taken into account.

4 stars because rooms are like dorms. Plus there are students living here in the dorms. Which makes sense why the rooms were decorated like dorms. Showers were very small but at least the AC worked well and the bed is king size. I loved the rooftop views and the cocktails were on fire! Good place to stay for a day or two. Fun appetizers are out in the mornings for students and the restaurant downstairs serve food but service is slow.

We enjoyed our stay at the Social Hub! Its 2 tram stops away from the main station and is easy to get to the city center from there. We got to enjoy the pool for a little bit and the rooftop bar has a great view. The rooms do feel a bit like a dorm in college, but its fine if you plan on site seeing and being out of the room. I'd 100% stay here again.

We only had drinks at the rooftop and it was spectacular! The views are amazing and very good vibes. I give it a 4 because the drinks menu is quite pricey. Recommend!

Room and hotel appears to be really nice seemingly on the surface. Nice lounge and outdoor areas and rooftop bar with good view. But no mugs (a cup with a handle) can be provided which means hot drinks cannot be made as there are only glasses. In the end I had to ask the restaurant downstairs for a paper cup. And, the only water source is from bathroom. But then we realised the kettle is dirty or has a calcium deposit or something so we didnt dare to drink the hot water from it as the hot water looks a bit milky with stuff floating around. There's no microwave and stove top so can't reheat anything or do any simple cooking. All the QR code or website provided in room or printed on access pass are dead and hence no information about the room can be accessed, had to call and wait or go in person to ask for them. Reception can be nice or impatient or not helpful depends on who you get. The only good thing about this hotel is they were able to help us get a taxi which proved to be an extremely hard task for foreigners. This is a joke for top dollar we paid for. I reckon places with half the price can provide better basic service and facilities.

The perfect place to be. This is my favourite go to place for all of me remote work, I enjoy working there, this place literally feels like home and I just love being there. The vibe, the people, the ambiance and the all in all aura of the place is just so homely and classic at the same time. They have a pool on the rooftop a plus point what else you can ask for 🫢

Have really enjoyed stay here. The rooftop bar and pool is something special, with an unbeatable view of Florence, good drinks and really friendly staff. The room is nice and clean, and the location is an easy walk to all the sights.

We stayed for 3 nights and the price averaged at around 100euros a night. The rooms were clean and tidy and had all the essentials, along with a coffee machine. The mattress was a little hard, but comfortable. The staff were super helpful and friendly and the hotel often organises different events you can attend. The pool is small, but worth going to as the view is amazing, but note you have to book the day before to ensure you get a spot if you want to go for a swim. Overall for the price you cannot go wrong, I would definitely recommend and come back here.

The hotel location is fine, you can access the center with a 10 minutes walk. There are a lot of services in the hotel: restaurant, coffee shop, hairdresser, bar, swimming pool, wash station, gym … that is appreciated. But the rooms are limited to the strict minimum : no closet for our clothes (just 5 hangers, fixed), not a lot of space in the bedroom for our necessities, very hard bedding and old cushions. Also the cleaning staff just change the towels and make the bed, the black bathroom was full of dust at the end of the week. We didn’t have soap in the room at arrival, you have to fight a little bit to have it. For the price/standing of the hotel, you can expect better.

Perfect for our tourist visit to Firenze. Walking distance from the city centre, easy check in and check out, modern clean rooms with great service. The gym and swimming pool with city view are wonderful! Remember to reserve a slot for the pool, especially on hot days. No parking, but there are options near. A lot of extras are available like hair salon, bar, laundry room, patio, restaurant etc. Would stay again!

I liked other (formerly) students hotels, but this one left me a bit disappointed. To start, this is one of those hotels that lure you in with a wide choice of activities, spaces and stores and add a hefty sum for these things onto your room bill no matter if you use them. So the good things: - I liked the hard bed mattress. That's super subjective, but for me it is great. - the rooftop bar with pool is amazing! - bartenders were very nice to us! The not so good things: - to say this is a 4 star hotel is a bit ridiculous. If you remove all those co-working spaces, hair dressers, breakfast places, things you probably won't use as an average guest, you are left with a 3 star room and 3 star breakfast. There is no soap, you have to use the shower gel to wash your hands. Some buttons in the bathroom didn't work as intended. The light concept was terrible. And as others described, very simple interior (I am actually fine with that, but just in case). My partner hated the cold industrial floor, I quite liked it. - I think partly bad luck, but our room was very noisy. The biggest source of noise was the street and the windows were not good enough to let us sleep comfortably. But on top of that, walls are very thin and you get woken up by doors slammed shut etc. Make absolutely sure you get a room facing inwards. As a result, I would suggest all my friends to stay at a quieter, smaller hotel in Florence and come here just for all the extras, like the bar, like the pool, like the co-working space etc. Because you can use those spaces even if you don't stay overnight.

We stayed in Florence 12/27-12/29 and this hotel is in the best location! 15-minute walk from the train station, 15-minute walk to Galleria dell’ Academia, and easy access to shops and restaurants. Very cute park across the street as well. Modern and eclectic interior, welcoming and friendly staff and bartenders! We also received a voucher for hot chocolates for booking during the holiday season and they were delicious. We would definitely stay at The Social Hub again!

Overall a good hotel and unique place to stay on your travels. Pros: It's huge, has restaurants, fantastic rooftop bar, good location Cons: It's huge - I got lost a few times and felt confused where I could and could not catch up on some work. It's mainly used as a student residence, so if you're on the older side you might feel a bit like a grandparent staying here :)

We felt welcomed and comfy. The hotel is very cool, young and inclusive. The room was clean and the roof top bar was awesome. The location is good and the restaurant is good as well. The breakfast is really good with a lot of options and you can even get to go. We really liked it.

Beautiful hotel Great location The pool has the best view of Florence Food is not the best Rooms are clean, the furniture selection is great. Beautiful spaces along the entire hotel. You can do laundry, this was great for us since we were in the middle of the trip.

Loved staying here! An oasis in Firenze. The staff was extremely helpful, the rooms were comfortable and well designed and all the spaces in the hotel were design driven: an incredible if not the best rooftop pool, a welcoming lobby, spaces to seat and enjoy, and free laundry. Don't eat in the cafe downstairs - not great food, but can't recommend this hotel enough. Will for sure continue to stay at TSH locations.

An amazing experience. Wired and connected, made for computer geeks. Has laundry self service with machines that have soap, no detergent needed and it's free. Bar and swimming pool on top floor overlooking the Florence landscape. Fun place. Younger crowd or young at heart. They also have a restaurant and cafe.

Great location next to Firenze city centre. Facilities are really comfy and modern. Room was super complete and the bed awesome. Terrace, pool and gym are the highlights of this hotel with amazing views. Staff were wonderful, really helpful and caring. Special thanks to Agustin Dominguez in front desk, he made my stay really easy and solved all my issues.

Inside the building you’ll find a rooftop bar with an amazing view of the city, a restaurant, and a little cafe bar for coffee and a croissant in the morning. The rooms are cute, with nice high ceilings and are also surprisingly quiet despite overlooking a busy road. The bathrooms are a bit cramped, but not bad. They also have a laundry room downstairs that you can use for free which was awesome to have! We loved staying here! Thank you!

  • 4/5 Kelly D. 1 year ago on Google
Overall I do recommend staying here. This is a really unique place with a fun, young energy. Full disclosure: yes it’s a hostel/dormitory but it’s also a lovely place for grown ups to stay with a rooftop pool/bar, yummy breakfast, cafe, English speaking staff and free laundry! It’s not a typical hotel and you won’t get room service, you might have to use the stairs instead of elevator, and your shower might not be as hot as you want it. If you can go with the flow, this is the place for you.

Ok hotel, expensive relative to value but that might go for a lot in Florence. Rooftop pool is nice extra though small with few beds you need to reserve (but prob can’t), the view is nice and open to all guests. Housekeeping didn’t come by at all in 5 days. They did bring new towels when we called, and ‘would make a note’ so housekeeping would come by. They didn’t. Attached pictures of the salami sandwich we saw each day we walked down the stairs. Location is good, near the train station and on the edge of the center of town. Nice receptionists (though they could use more than 2 for a big hotel). Good atmosphere, rooms were fine.

Beautiful hotel with great rooftop bar and pool. You need a reservation for both , but that way you will enjoy incredible experience without too many people up there. The room was small but comfy and clean. Hotel is close to train station and the main attractions, about 10 minutes walk to the centre. Great experience!!

Great location. We really loved the character and spirit of the hotel. The rooftop was fantastic and staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms are not so clean

Depending on the room, you may get a small one. But facilities were clean, reception was extremely helpful in calling taxis and holding luggage. Not to mention the gorgeous view on the rooftop bar.

Trendy hotel designed for younger guests but good for all age groups. Nice rooms with big modern bathrooms. Helpful staff and convenient facilities including cafe and laundry.

Nice hotel, didn't realize on booking that it was primarily a student hotel, but we were not disappointed. There is a mix of all ages staying there. Umberto, the food manager I believe was very helpful getting me ice... (silly North American thing lol) but everyone else was wonderful too. The Hotel is quite large, but no problem getting to and from our rooms. It is also environmentally conscious, attempting to conserve resources but not at the expense of necessities. Would stay there again no problem. Front end staff were also very friendly. The view from the hotel bar and pool on the roof was fantastic as shown in the pictures.

  • 4/5 kalok9990 1 year ago on Google
The hotel was lovely. Very clean and staff were very friendly. Absolutely stunning view from the rooftop bar and the gym. Sure it's slightly out from the centre, around 15 min walk, but along the walk you can just enjoy the Firenze architecture!

This hotel is fabulous! (and I don't use that word often). Very clean, very creative, super-friendly staff, great location (just a few minutes away from all the core-city sights and across the street from a nice park and close to mass transit). Others have mentioned reticence when they discovered that "TSH" stood for The Student Hotel. I too wondered what this meant. Fear not. This is a first-class place to stay by any measure. It clear to see the owners went all-in to make for a great experience and they succeeded!
