Honeymoon report: Jr. Suite rooms with front garden aren't very comfortable or spacious or private. We "downgraded" to a Deluxe room and we were much happier. The hotel is stingy on towels and the bed wasn't comfortable (hard), nor the pillows (hard) but staff did solve all our problems. Only instant coffee in the rooms. We ended up enjoying our stay. The Victorian style rooms are beautiful. Suggestions: Ask for a feather topper for the bed feather pillows, large towels, wine glasses (if needed), more toiletries.

We just came back from this wonderful relaxing place only 15 min cab ride from Florence. We stayed in room 312 and it was as magical as in the pictures. Spacious room with high ceilings with incredible ornaments. Extremely clean and the AC was working well at a super hot week. They have a really good and generous breakfast and I really liked the pool and gardens which was a great perk after a long flight from New York. special thanks goes to the amazing staff who went out of their way to make our stay perfect. Anything from Alessandro’s recommendations were to eat and visit, the gracious waiters, the women in the front including Antonia and Laura the manager who all went above and beyond for us. A huge reason of why we enjoyed our trip so much. Thank you Villa Olmi, you are one of a kind !

Wow, Wow, Wow!!! We cannot say enough good things about this hotel stay. Upon arrival we could not pick our jaw off the ground. Upon checking in we were told we had an upgrade do to being with Costco Travel. Our jaw again hit the floor when we saw our room. Our room was one of only twelve in the building, spacious, beautiful, well appointed. The King size bed looked small in the room. The lawns were spectacular and relaxing when walking. We would take our breakfast on the patio near the pool enjoying the morning sun. In the evening we would sit by the pool and drink a glass of wine. Breakfasts were great! One fly in the ointment: what's will the watered down orange juice and hot house tomato's? There is a farmers market less than a mile away with field ripened tomato's that are wonderful! The Staff was very helpful and efficient and friendly. Upon checking out we were informed that our wine and cappuccinos were complimentary as we were with Costco Travel.

An oasis of relaxation in the hotel and around the hotel! Villa Olmi is a very wonderful hotel complex close to Florence but still enough away in quiet surroundings with beautiful and very well maintained green park. The hotel has several buildings with rooms located not far from the main building. The rooms are spacious and air-conditioned. The pool is sufficiently large and sun loungers comfortable and numerous. Refreshing drinks are available at the bar, which are also served by the pool. In the restaurant, breakfast and dinner are served. The wine list is rich in local and national good wines. Breakfast is plentiful and dinner a la carte. The hotel staff is pleasantly friendly and helpful. The fitness room is a bit smaller, but adequately equipped, with a bit older equipment, apart from the dumbbells, which are new. The path to the fitness room leads through the stylishly furnished underground floor. It is exciting to walk there and worth it to experience it. In general, the whole hotel is very stylishly furnished and invites you to linger. The hotel offers a cheap shuttle bus to the city of Florence, which is a relaxed alternative if you don't want to drive your own car into the busy city. We had a wonderful, relaxing and romantic stay there.

Gorgeous hotel with really great staff! Alessandro was extremely helpful with accommodations. We enjoyed the pool and walking through the property. Unfortunately our room was around 27 Celsius the entire time. We asked the front desk a few times and also asked for a fan and they just kept saying “ its fine.” We had to stay outside as much as possible because it was that bad and very hard to sleep. Location is close to everything and the shuttle was very helpful.

We finally got to take our honeymoon (Italy was shut down when we were married in 2020), and Villa Olmi was one of the hotels we stayed at. We absolutely loved our stay, it was the most wonderful hotel I’ve ever stayed at! The staff were exceptional and all treated us like royalty. We had our 1 year old son with us and he had a blast and was the star of the show, even during evening dinner! The entire hotel felt like a beautiful museum with so much art and beautiful landscaping. The shuttle was so so helpful getting into Florence. The breakfast and cappuccinos were perfect. Our room was dreamy, and the daily housekeeping and turndown service were wonderful. I hope to come get back to Italy again, and would love to spend an entire trip here! I miss it so much already!

It is very beautiful and it has also amazing services. The best part it is the old villa and the downstairs. There are plenty of vintage furniture, paintings, private old collections(like clocks collection, dolls, porcelains etc). I truely feel like i m living in an other century. It is like real museum.

EXCELLENT! Simply, excellent. A wonderful stay at a very very high-end property, with a huge garden, green spaces, olive trees - and all just 10 car minutes away from Firenze Center! The staff was lovely, the breakfast one of the best we had in Italy and the rooms in a beautiful cottage style.

Although the hotel is a little far from Florence, it’s well worth it for the ambiance alone. The city is easily accessible by the public bus or the hotels affordable shuttle. The property and the staff were amazing— especially Valentina! We will definitely be coming back.

The worst hotel ever. It seems like in the city no taxi well operated. After I realized that impossible to get a taxi from the city to getting back to the hotel I called to the reception and asked to call a taxi for me. But the answer was - it is impossible. No problem was solved. Only the Westin hotel was customer oriented and have managed to help me. Do not ever stay in the middle of nowhere.

I am a guest from Hong Kong. I stayed there for 2 nights on 2 and 3 May 2023. I believe you can read everyone saying that how beautiful the hotel is..... Yes, it is ...it is a very beautiful hotel. But more importantly is they have the best hotel staff in Italy..... We had some problems in the 1 night, and their staff tried their very best to solve the problem. They saved our vacation undoubtedly. Trust me, go there, because I will go there again definitely, hopefully this year. P.S. Laura, you are the best of the best. Jerry

We stayed at this wonderful Inn on a recent vacation to Italy that we booked with a touring company. This place is fantastic if you are looking for a cozy and quiet place to stay that is outside of the busy city of Florence. The grounds are beautiful and the pool area was very relaxing. It is within walking distance of a few great places to eat and if you want to get into the city it is a quick cab ride. The staff was very professional and helpful and took care of all of our needs and requests. A few months before our tour started I was easily able to book an extra night and they arranged for us to stay in the same room for the entire stay. The international breakfast had many options that allowed us to get the great nutrition needed for those long days exploring the surrounding cities in Tuscany (Lucca, Siena, Pisa, etc.) The room was very clean and functional and serviced each day that we were out exploring all of Tuscany. Thanks for a great vacation. We loved every moment that we spent there.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Villa Olmi - as other reviews have stated, the property is close enough to the Florence city centre but distanced enough so you can enjoy a quiet stay with peaceful surroundings. Staff were fantastic and the shuttle bus service was great to go in/out of the city.

Amazing hotel, staff, location and experience. Loved staying here. It was far enough from the hustle and bustle of the city yet close enough to go when you wanted to. It had a relaxing environment and the landscape was very picturesque. The receptionist Izabella was amazing and super helpful when we needed it.

So happy we stayed here for our time in Florence. The staff was so friendly and helpful, the grounds are gorgeous along with the rooms. Antique furniture graces the rooms and entryways along with gorgeous murals on the walls. Such a beautifully restore property. The pool was relaxing after a hot day of sightseeing. The breakfast provided in thr mornings was delicious with many options.

Getting there :On the first night of our stay, we took a cab/uber for $30 from the train station around 8 p.m. We were later advised that this was a lucky situation, as Uber never goes to this hotel. Check in; The staff was very friendly and helpful. Weirdly, at check-in, they had us leave our luggage and bag of takeout food downstairs while they showed us the room. I hesitated, and they promised it would be up in 5 minutes. We waited about 15 minutes before we called to get our luggage and were told it would be up shortly; half an hour later, I went to the front desk. They apologized and brought our stuff to our room, but our food was cold by then. I figured they were busy, and we got lost in the shuffle. Spa bath: Once settled in, my husband used the spa bath, and afterward, there was a mildew smell throughout the room that lasted hours; it was strong enough to force us to open windows for fresh air. We woke the next morning to the most beautiful view outside, covered in itchy bites and surrounded by a dozen mosquitoes. The Windows need screens. Rooms: cute room very small, desk is a helpful touch, feels rustic wardrobe cabinet needs a light inside though. Beautiful view The breakfast : was lovely; the eggs were cheesy and good, with hot bacon, potatoes, and sausage. There were Yogurts, plus granola, cold cereal, fruit, and so many sweet breads. Drinks included hot tea, three kinds of fresh juice, water, and coffee. In subsequent mornings the eggs were less tasty and more watery but the variety of breads changed and kept it interesting. The restaurant: in general is okay, the gnocchi is good. The shuttle's last pick up is at 7 pm restaurants reopen for dinner around 7-8pm. So if you plan to have a nice dinner in Florence, also plan to hike back to the train station, wait 30 mins in line for a taxi and pay $25. Also there’s a fridge in the room but no microwave. Day trips: this hotel is mid , for day trips we used the shuttle to get into Florence and took a train to sienna, sans tour, just on our own and it was nice but the pick up and drop off location at their sister hotel, Hotel lucchesi is a hike from the station. We also booked a day trip to Cinque Terre that had a meet-up at 7 a.m. in Florence but we didn't realize that getting that initial Uber to this hotel was a lucky and rare thing. The hotel's shuttle's earliest trip is 10 a.m.. So plan your day trips accordingly! Luckily I checked on this the night before, and the hotel staff rescued us and booked us a taxi for$40 at 615am ouch! . Support : Later on the day trip I became sick 🤢 and the tour “ City Wonder’s,” left me and my husband at a gas station in the middle of nowhere with no options. To get back to Florence. We couldn’t get a cab or an Uber in such a remote location, so we called the hotel, they rescued us again by arranging a shuttle to come get us for $170. It was helpful that they were there for us, no idea if that price is good or bad for the situation but we got back to the hotel at least. So if you're going to pay for day trips/ tours which start in the morning, maybe you shouldn't stay at this hotel . Laundry: the laundry service was a bit high for us. We used a laundromat in town. It took less than a hour and cost $3. Meanwhile One pair of underwear on their service cost $2.50. . Watch out for monsters under the bed: The last night of our stay I was fed up with the pillows being uncomfortable. I found these puffy blankets in a drawer under the bed and against my better judgment I used it as a pillow. ( it wasn’t wrapped, and it was stored low to the ground in a dark area). Now … I’m not certain, cause I didn’t see them but I am an RN and I’m convinced we were bitten by more than the mosquitoes. In the telltale locations, face and hands, and in the itchy multibite pattern we all know as the “ breakfast lunch and dinner constellation”. This was last night and I’m sure it’s because I chose to use the blankets stored under the bed… but still Nothing is coming inside for like a month when we get home

Currently staying here. Rooms are old. Staff at front desk are not friendly or helpful. Requires a deposit to borrow an umbrella. Breakfast for an extra fee. I have stayed at 4 star hotels the other days of this trip and they were all much nicer and had better service. This is NOT a five star hotel. Maybe 3 at best.

  • 5/5 Dan K. 1 year ago on Google
A true 5 star experience. Although we chose it blindly as a hotel with transportation to the city the fact it was only seasonal service actually allowed us to explore parts of the town we never had with our own vehicle. We have been to Florence many times but this was our best visit yet.

Gorgeous villa located outside the hustle and bustle of Florence. Breakfast was delicious and offered a wide selection — perfect for people with any dietary needs. We greatly enjoyed the lush grounds with olive trees, citrus, and grapes. The rooms are well appointed, and the jacuzzi tub was a nice perk. There is a shuttle to Florence, so be sure to check the pick-up times (you can email the front desk before you visit to get the current schedule). We ventured into the nearby town of Bagno a Ripoli and enjoyed a nice walking trail in a wooded area, as well as Mass in a church built in the year 790.

We had a very pleasant stay and received exceptional service. The location, the facilities and the breakfast were to our expectations. This hotel is a true gem! Will definitely be staying there again.

We booked Villa Olmi because of the pool but were a little disappointed at the state of it. It needs to be completely redone. When we stayed at Villa Olmi it was close to 105 degrees Fahrenheit so we spent most of time in and around the pool. One day we picked up over 20 broken mosaic tiles from the bottom of the pool. Some of these were sharp and really could have hurt someone. Not only were many tiles from the sides and bottom of the pool already missing but also the stones around the pool were crumpling and falling into the pool. The hotel needs to empty the pool and completely retile the entire thing and then replace the stones around the pool. Hopefully when they do this they will also create a shallow end. I'm 5ft 3inches and couldn't comfortably stand anywhere in the pool. The pool is great for swimming laps but when I'm on vacation and its over 100 degrees all I want to do it lounge in the pool and cool down. If you're short bring a floaty! Shuttle service was unreliable. I noticed the shuttle drive by a couple waiting outside Plaza Hotel Lucchesi because there was no where to park and leave them there. The shuttle driver needs to take a moment, get out and announce to the Lobby that they arrived.

Nice clean room but there was no swing bench in our garden like it showed on the photo of the room. Dinning room staff was not attentive. We set down at the table at 9pm. Waited 20 min for them to bring the menu and food came at 10pm. When I complained to the server, he suggested I take a walk to their sister hotel in the neighborhood and eat there. Well maintained building and kind cleaning staff but inconvenient location to get to city center.

Lovely place and so well kept! My review and rating are in regards to the staff here. Upon arrival I was greeted by the front desk staff and they didn't seem so warm. I left it as is and went about my day, then the next day at breakfast and dinner the staff were not friendly at all. The only one that was nice to us and went out of his way to wish my boyfriend a happy bday was Alex!

We stayed here with our whole family and had our wedding here. The staff are incredible and will truly go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and easy-breezy. The pool and gardens are very nice and the rooms are decorated with their own little personalities, which we loved! The food served for lunch and dinner are excellent and the drinks match the high quality of the food. There is a shuttle service to and from Florence, but unfortunately, it doesn’t run as often as sometimes needed. I don’t necessarily think this property is appropriate for families with young children, since the furniture are antiques, the rooms are quaint and “cozy” 😉, and the pool is small and is all one depth. Overall, my family had a great time and the staff created a simply dreamyyy wedding for us! We will definitely be coming back ♥️

This hotel was a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The shuttle made it easy for us to get in and out without taking a taxi. The only time we had to order a taxi was at the end of our stay to go to the train station. The taxi was about $25 euros and well worth it. The hotel staff was pleasant and the rooms were very clean. We came in October, right at the end of the busiest season. The weather was gorgeous (not too hot and not too cold). Our only issue was the mosquitoes. Which was not a hotel issue, but just a common issue around the city, so definitely recommend bringing some bug spray. The breakfast in the morning was perfect for what we needed to get a long day of walking started. We didn't see many children. The lobby is great to relax with a glass of wine after touring the town.

Absolutely loved this hotel, unfortunately i was only able to stay overnight as i was on a business trip. Its a little bit of "gracious" old style, the hotel and grounds were immaculate and the staff knowledgeable and gracious to a non Italian speaking guest. Will be back again if i have my way! Well, i am back again. This is now February of 2023. Still an amazing hotel with a great restaurant and super helpful staff. I highly recommend this hotel with its large gardens and peaceful settings only a stone throw from central Florence with an easy commute.

Excellent accomodations, excellent service, beautiful views of Tuscany, the grounds are jaw-droppingly beautiful (an Instagramer paradise)... The staff were impeccable. Simona helped us by answering dozens of our questions, setting up a COVID test for me and helping to get movie tickets. By far the best service. Don't miss this place. You will never forget your stay here!!

Villa Olmi is the Paradiso, that we once dreamt up as a child. In that glorious lobby from years gone by, I've worked, relaxed, dined with friends, toiled on Visas, reflected, laughed endlessly and made lifelong friends all with the enduring help of the rare magnificent people who work there. Tell Simona that Ryan sent you and you'll be taken care of.

Everything about this hotel is special. We loved our stay, including the quiet and peaceful grounds, the excellent staff, the lovely room and top quality sheets and pillows. We can’t wait to come back!

If you want to stay close to Florence yet feel you are part of the Tuscany countryside, then stay here. There are all types of rooms to suit your needs and each one is gorgeous and comfortable in its own way. Above all, the staff is outstanding! I was unfortunate to have my baggage delayed (don't fly Lufthansa) for over 6 days. The front desk staff went above and beyond to help me out in my predicament when the airlines did nothing. The staff at Villa Olmi are the very best...compassionate, helpful, and kind. But it doesn't stop there. All the people that we came in contact with at the villa were fabulous! The breakfast buffet is clean and there are many items to choose from. The cappuccino each morning was perfect, especially dining outside and listening to the birds sing. The restaurant is lovely and the dinners we had were delicious. If you are renting a car, this is a perfect place to stay. Free parking and easy parking. Their shuttle bus can fill quickly so be aware of that but it is a nice perk that they offer since you never know when and if taxis are available with the multiple strikes in Italy. They always found us a taxi when we needed it and quickly. Like I said before...the staff is tops! The grounds and pool are meticulous. The rooms are comfortable and clean but, if anything, they need better pillows, imo. Make sure to walk around the grounds and the villa. It is absolutely gorgeous! Just stay here...you will love it!

I planned a long trip with my entire adult family (8 people) so you can imagine there were a lot of different opinions. One thing we all agreed upon was how blown away we were by this hotel. For the quality service and beautiful and comfortable environment, this price cannot be beat. The hotel is stunning. It is sophisticated with an old world charm but without the musty dustiness of other hotels that have that vibe. It was extremely clean and comfortable. The lobby was so beautiful and the rooms were small but lovely. The room temperature was perfect on a hot early fall week and controllable (AC worked great). The rooms had nice shower products, robes, lighting, and all the necessary amenities. They also had power converters in the wall in the bathroom which was nice for charging multiple things if you only bring one adapter. The shower had great water pressure and your given extra towels up front which I so appreciate. The bed was the most comfortable we slept in in Italy (although I feel like that bar is very low in general haha one of the only things the US does better than Italy). The garden/pool and grounds made you really feel like you were deep in Tuscany on a true vacation somewhere far away. Meanwhile you are 15 minutes from Florence, which you can conveniently get to on the hotels bus service, if you time it right. Above all else, the service was top notch. One of our family members was in desperate need of a doctor for a back injury and the hotel set up a visit with a doctor immediately in our room. Because of this injury we had to adjust our schedule and plans and they helped us in many different ways and were generally very attentive and kind people. They helped us arrange a very nice driver and car service to take us through Chianti for a day of wine tours. A few notes to share on what I would change! Their restaurant food was truly delicious but it is a limited menu so I wouldn’t plan to eat more than one or two meals there unless you are ok with that. That being said, they had an awesome breakfast buffet that I definitely think is worth it. There was no pool side service and that was fine, you can walk up to the bar for a drink. but it was hard to find a snack if you choose to spend the day by the pool! The shower was really hard to climb into, although once in it was very nice Just a little high off the ground. Still not complaining bc it was clean, hot, and great pressure!! The bus service was definitely a perk but you had to sign up at least a day in advance to get a spot on the bus and they were flexible when you signed up and bailed but they do need to know so you have to communicate that you aren’t going on it if you change your plans. For me that was hard to commit to and there were limited departure times. It was also difficult after a few late dinners to get a taxi back to the hotel from the city center, so make sure you know where the closest taxi stand is by where you go! I studied abroad in Florence in college so I was sad to go back to Florence and not stay in the heart of the city. but now that I’ve stayed here, I don’t think I’ll ever not stay at this hotel. It really was a beautiful and special place. We booked it bc we wanted access to restaurants and to have the ability to come and go independently but we really wanted to also experience the beauty and relaxedness of Tuscany. we just didn’t know how to commit to a Tuscany villa further into Tuscany with 8 adults for four days. it felt like we would be limited by our options for plans since we’d all have to get rental cars from point a to b and none of the options we looked at with a pool and gorgeous view seemed like they had walking access to a town or restaurants. If you want to get the vibe of a Tuscan escape but with the freedom to hop in an Uber or on a shuttle bus and see some sites or go to dinner, this is your hotel!! If you want to go to Florence but are looking for some greenery to enjoy your morning coffee leisurely in, this is your hotel!
