Getting
there
:On
the
first
night
of
our
stay,
we
took
a
cab/uber
for
$30
from
the
train
station
around
8
p.m.
We
were
later
advised
that
this
was
a
lucky
situation,
as
Uber
never
goes
to
this
hotel.
Check
in;
The
staff
was
very
friendly
and
helpful.
Weirdly,
at
check-in,
they
had
us
leave
our
luggage
and
bag
of
takeout
food
downstairs
while
they
showed
us
the
room.
I
hesitated,
and
they
promised
it
would
be
up
in
5
minutes.
We
waited
about
15
minutes
before
we
called
to
get
our
luggage
and
were
told
it
would
be
up
shortly;
half
an
hour
later,
I
went
to
the
front
desk.
They
apologized
and
brought
our
stuff
to
our
room,
but
our
food
was
cold
by
then.
I
figured
they
were
busy,
and
we
got
lost
in
the
shuffle.
Spa
bath:
Once
settled
in,
my
husband
used
the
spa
bath,
and
afterward,
there
was
a
mildew
smell
throughout
the
room
that
lasted
hours;
it
was
strong
enough
to
force
us
to
open
windows
for
fresh
air.
We
woke
the
next
morning
to
the
most
beautiful
view
outside,
covered
in
itchy
bites
and
surrounded
by
a
dozen
mosquitoes.
The
Windows
need
screens.
Rooms:
cute
room
very
small,
desk
is
a
helpful
touch,
feels
rustic
wardrobe
cabinet
needs
a
light
inside
though.
Beautiful
view
The
breakfast
:
was
lovely;
the
eggs
were
cheesy
and
good,
with
hot
bacon,
potatoes,
and
sausage.
There
were
Yogurts,
plus
granola,
cold
cereal,
fruit,
and
so
many
sweet
breads.
Drinks
included
hot
tea,
three
kinds
of
fresh
juice,
water,
and
coffee.
In
subsequent
mornings
the
eggs
were
less
tasty
and
more
watery
but
the
variety
of
breads
changed
and
kept
it
interesting.
The
restaurant:
in
general
is
okay,
the
gnocchi
is
good.
The
shuttle's
last
pick
up
is
at
7
pm
restaurants
reopen
for
dinner
around
7-8pm.
So
if
you
plan
to
have
a
nice
dinner
in
Florence,
also
plan
to
hike
back
to
the
train
station,
wait
30
mins
in
line
for
a
taxi
and
pay
$25.
Also
there’s
a
fridge
in
the
room
but
no
microwave.
Day
trips:
this
hotel
is
mid
,
for
day
trips
we
used
the
shuttle
to
get
into
Florence
and
took
a
train
to
sienna,
sans
tour,
just
on
our
own
and
it
was
nice
but
the
pick
up
and
drop
off
location
at
their
sister
hotel,
Hotel
lucchesi
is
a
hike
from
the
station.
We
also
booked
a
day
trip
to
Cinque
Terre
that
had
a
meet-up
at
7
a.m.
in
Florence
but
we
didn't
realize
that
getting
that
initial
Uber
to
this
hotel
was
a
lucky
and
rare
thing.
The
hotel's
shuttle's
earliest
trip
is
10
a.m..
So
plan
your
day
trips
accordingly!
Luckily
I
checked
on
this
the
night
before,
and
the
hotel
staff
rescued
us
and
booked
us
a
taxi
for$40
at
615am
ouch!
.
Support
:
Later
on
the
day
trip
I
became
sick
🤢
and
the
tour
“
City
Wonder’s,”
left
me
and
my
husband
at
a
gas
station
in
the
middle
of
nowhere
with
no
options.To
get
back
to
Florence.
We
couldn’t
get
a
cab
or
an
Uber
in
such
a
remote
location,
so
we
called
the
hotel,
they
rescued
us
again
by
arranging
a
shuttle
to
come
get
us
for
$170.
It
was
helpful
that
they
were
there
for
us,
no
idea
if
that
price
is
good
or
bad
for
the
situation
but
we
got
back
to
the
hotel
at
least.
So
if
you're
going
to
pay
for
day
trips/
tours
which
start
in
the
morning,
maybe
you
shouldn't
stay
at
this
hotel
.
Laundry:
the
laundry
service
was
a
bit
high
for
us.
We
used
a
laundromat
in
town.
It
took
less
than
a
hour
and
cost
$3.
Meanwhile
One
pair
of
underwear
on
their
service
cost
$2.50.
.
Watch
out
for
monsters
under
the
bed:
The
last
night
of
our
stay
I
was
fed
up
with
the
pillows
being
uncomfortable.
I
found
these
puffy
blankets
in
a
drawer
under
the
bed
and
against
my
better
judgment
I
used
it
as
a
pillow.
(
it
wasn’t
wrapped,and
it
was
stored
low
to
the
ground
in
a
dark
area).
Now
…
I’m
not
certain,
cause
I
didn’t
see
them
but
I
am
an
RN
and
I’m
convinced
we
were
bitten
by
more
than
the
mosquitoes.
In
the
telltale
locations,
face
and
hands,
and
in
the
itchy
multibite
pattern
we
all
know
as
the
“
breakfast
lunch
and
dinner
constellation”.
This
was
last
night
and
I’m
sure
it’s
because
I
chose
to
use
the
blankets
stored
under
the
bed…
but
still
Nothing
is
coming
inside
for
like
a
month
when
we
get
home
