Stayed here for 5 nights. Fantastic experience. Beautiful, modern rooms with original painted ceilings. Proprietor is extremely pleasant and friendly and speaks English, French, Italian, and Spanish. Breakfast is light but tasty and of high quality (croissants, ham, cheese, yogurt, fruit etc.). Quite close to everything and they give you a little map with recommended places to eat that are near-by which is a nice touch. Hard to find any fault.

We stayed at this boutique hotel for 3 nights and had such a wonderful time! The building itself is right down the street from the synagogue, and in a quiet neighborhood away from all the tourist traps. It has a very neat old elevator (that works), and a nice sliding glass door feature. Our room was big and spacious, and very clean (there are only five rooms in total). The main room was stocked with coffee / tea / biscuits and was a nice place to hang out if we didn't want to be in our room. It is also where we had breakfast each morning -- the owner Michel personally made eggs for us every morning! It also gave us an opportunity to meet with other guests that were there, and chat over breakfast. Michel suggested a nearby laundry place that did a great job with our large bag of laundry -- for around 3 euros!! Both Michel and his daughter provided excellent hospitality during our stay -- would highly recommend this boutique hotel if you're staying in Florence!

We had an excellent stay. Michel and Cinzia were wonderful hosts. The place is a short walk away from the major sites and a great respite from the hustle and bustle of this wonderful city. Our room overlooked a wonderful courtyard where we enjoyed listening to the church bells rings, the birds chirp, and someone in the courtyard playing piano. The breakfast was good, and a great way to meet other travelers and share experiences. I highly recommend it.

Absolutely loved our stay here at this little hotel. My wife and I spent the weekend in Florence after a couple of days in Rome. After we stayed at an absolute dump of a "fake news" fabulous reviewed hotel, this little gem was a wonderful surprise. This little bed and breakfast is family owned and operated so much care is taken into the place. Matthew, reached out to us before our arrival to find out what time he would be expecting us. We showed up about an hour later than expected and he was there with a smile ready and willing to greet us. We were truly treated like family visiting from out of town and he took the time to show us on a map the places to go and places to avoid. The hotel itself has five rooms, a living/dining room, and a small kitchen where they prepare breakfast for us. The room was extremely comfortable, clean, and very spacious. Everything was within walking distance and at the end of the night you get away from the crazy crowds of downtown. I would not hesitate to stay here again as it was such a great experience.

Such a fantastic place to stay in Florence. Very quaint. We stayed in the Fyodor Dostoevsky (purple velvet) room & it was super comfortable for us. 2 closet areas & a nice form bed. The breakfast in the morning was perfect; a selection of fruits (whole & cut up strawberry + pineapple), yogurt, bread, salami, cheese, tomatos, croissant, jams, prunes in juice, nuts, cereals & the propieter Michel makes fresh eggs for each guest. There is espresso or tea + milk as well as sweet wine + biscuits available to guests around the clock. The best part about the hotel is that it's just on the perimeter of the main historic zone, so it's quieter, more authentic & closer to restaurants that aren't as overwhelmingly touristy. I would 100% recommend this hotel to friends & come back. It's a true find.

This is a very comfortable and amazing hotel. The hotel entrance is very adventurous in itself. The elevator to get to the hotel entrance reminds me of a James Bond film. The hotel owner is very nice and accommodating. The room I stayed in was very comfortable and spacious. The 1865 fresco ceiling painting was nice to wake up to every morning. My favorite accommodation was the clawfoot tub. Very relaxing and comfortable stay. It's located in a quiet residential area right next to a Jewish Synagogue which is also very pretty. I will definitely stay here again.

Boutique size hotel where the landlord will make you feel at home instantly. The rooms are lovely, spacious and as clean as you would want them to be. The breakfast is included and doesn't deceive either., quite the opposite. I would definitely go back to this 1865 Florentine cocoon on my next trip. It was really worth it!

This was by far one of the most amazing hotels we’ve ever stayed in. First, the room was exquisitely beautiful, clean and very spacious. Second, the staff was so friendly, helpful in every aspect and truly made us feel like we are at home. There is a community area for breakfast, coffee, wine, etc. where every morning the owner makes you breakfast himself. The decoration of the place makes you feel like you are in a museum - very very unique! The quality of everything was top-notch (great mattress, nice bathroom, etc.) We will never stay anywhere else in Florence. Thank you for everything Matthew and Michele!

One of the best places I have stayed in Italy. The hotel itself very very clean. The bathroom is clean and water pressure is good. Breakfast was included and it is delicious. I would stay here again anytime.
