Pros - amazingly super friendly service both in person and via whatsapp - nothing was too much trouble, really awesome location only 20mins at most on foot from anywhere in the city. Free bottles of water were provided in the room. Really fair price for Florence. Cons - the room was SO hot. We may have been unlucky being there in almost 40 degree weather but the placement of the air conditioning unit meant that the room never really cooled down and the nights were extremely warm (I slept without the cover and even then I was sweating!). Towels are only changed every three days. The beds were comfy but came with the world's softest pillows. The water pressure in the bathroom was poor. Also worth noting that reception is only open 8am-6pm. And, to get to the residence you either climb the stairs or take a very small lift (which seemed a bit suspect on first go but you quickly get used to!).

Location Location Location......... I recently had the opportunity to stay at Toscanelli Residenza d'Epoca, Florence, Italy in March 2022. The Location: Very convenient location, opposite the famous Pitti Palace, steps from the Ponti Vecchio Bridge, cafes, bakeries, restaurants, supermarket, piazzas, etc. The area appeared safe and walkable. If you feel energetic and have limited luggage you could easily walk from the Firenze Central Station to the residence using the google map. Keep in mind the streets and side-walks in Firenze are narrow and cobbled, so caution and sensible shoes are advised. Alternatively, take a taxi to / from the Central Station to the Residence for approx euros 15 to 17 depending on traffic, of course. The Residence: Located on the 3rd floor of a heritage building. Keep in mind that the building is ancient or at least historical and does not meet modern standards. This adds to the charm, experience and adventure of foreign travel. The elevator can accommodate a maximum of 2 persons (with difficulty) and is super slow & sensitive. Alternatively, use the stairway going down and the elevators going up (at the end of a tiring day out). Andrew, the host is helpful with luggage. The rooms and washrooms are compact and tastfully furnished. The bed was a definite plus. Comfortable bed that afforded a relaxing nights' sleep. However, I found the pillows too flat & thin. A firmer head pillow or a choice of pillows would have been nice. Cleanliness at the Residenza is exceptional. The View: Each of the 6 rooms have different views of the rustic roofs of Florence, the dome & bell tower. The Hosts: Paola and Andrew are helpful & hospitable hosts. I found them patient, professional, calm, knowledgeable & courteous. They were prompt in responding to all my emails and answering my questions in a professional manner. I found Paola and Andrew dedicated to their work and customer service oriented, as well. Thank you, Andrew and Paola for enriching my Firenze experience. I recommend Toscanelli Residenza d'Epoca as your base and home away from home while in Firenze/Florence, and will stay here when I visit Fabulous Florence again.

This was such a wonderful stay! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful from the very beginning. The view from the loft room was incredible. The room was extremely clean and updated!! Our room was made up every day (water refilled, bed made, even folded clothes neatly that we left on the bed, and provided new linens). Lots of small details that really made the difference! We had such a great time here. The only feedback I would give is that the room was quite warm. We slept on top of the bedding with a lighter blanket and were still quite hot. This could be because we were in the loft up high. Overall amazing!!

The host is extremely helpful even with the parking. The hotel is perfect with a big room and close to many places. If I do come back to Florence, I would definitely come back here again. So very recommended!!

Paola and Andrew could not be more lovely and hospitable. Location is walkable to city center but slightly on outskirts near Pitti Palace. Paola provides recommendations for restaurants and sites which was very nice. Breakfast not included but they do provide recs and Coupon. They do expect you to vacate the room so it can be serviced in the morning but Paola was flexible with timing. Spotless premises. It’s a bit loud outside and walls are thin so you can hear everything from other rooms. Great wifi. Super friendly hosts. Feels very well cared for.

Our stay in the Duomo room was excellent. It had an old world feel with classic features of the building and room, as well as modern amenities. It was a short walk into the main core of Florence, but there was also many great restaurants, cafes and gelaterias just down stairs. Highly recommend!

I can tell that the hotel is making an effort to provide an excellent experience for its guests. The team is very lovely and friendly, and you'll find everything you need in the room. We arrived quite early, but they were very friendly and helpful, allowing us to check in as soon as the room was finished being cleaned. We greatly appreciated their assistance. The views are excellent, the location is perfect, and the cleanliness is impeccable.

I stayed at Residenza Toscanelli for only one night but I would gladly stay there again if I ever have the chance to go to Florence! Very inviting space and the hosts are extremely kind and helpful (which is hard to come by 😂). Amazing location and very clean environment! Thank you for the wonderful experience :)

What a wonderful place! The staff was helpful in advance and throughout. Antique building with nicely modernized rooms, clean and pleasant with many helpful touches to make our visit comfortable. Location near important sights but not in midst of noise and traffic. Glad to have stayed there.

Comfortable and informal. It's the perfect place from which to explore the sights of Florence. Located centrally (the Ponte Vechio is a 2-minute walk away) this establishment offers light and airy rooms with friendly staff. Rooms are well appointed, offering tea/coffee facilities, a mini fridge, wardrobe (with plenty of hangers!) bottle water and sky TV. The property is located on the third floor within a 14th century building. There is a lift, but it is very small and very slow. If you can, I'd advise using the stairs. Andrew and Paola made us feel welcome throughout our stay and were always keen to help with information, reservations, advice etc. There are plenty of bars, cafés, tratorias and osterias within spitting distance. The Pitti Palace is directly opposite. The main station (Firenze Santa Maria Novella) is approx 15-20 minute walk away. Highly recommended for visits to this beautiful city.

Awesome and cozy residence, owners were very welcoming, friendly and helpful in attending to our questions and needs. Prior to our arrival we even received messages from them with instructions on how to take public transport to the residence. Location was excellent, literally at the doorstep of Palazzo Pitti. Walking distance to all the sightseeing spots and plenty of restaurants nearby. The room was well equipped, with a safe deposit box and bottled water daily. Would definitely come back again :)

Andrew and Paola are amazing hosts. This place is very clean and well maintained. You really feel like family while staying here. The location is great as you are just a 5 to 15 minute walk away from the major tourist attractions. Would stay here again.

It is a wonderful place with a great view and a quieter neighborhood than most of Florence. The owners are incredible and eager to help. It's a ten minute walk to IL Duomo (which I could see out my window) and the museums of Florence. The Residence was quite affordable too! The only downside is that you either take an ancient elevator or a lot of stairs. It was a good calorie burn after all that good Tuscan food!

The rooms are small but convenient. Bathroom was pretty clean and bidet nice to have. There is an elevator but it is very slow. The employees are very concerned and friendly. Air conditioning is available in the rooms. Even if it is not wanted, it's good to have room cleaning every day.

We were extremely pleased with our stay. Paola and Andrew are extraordinary hosts who made us feel welcome from the start. The residence is very clean, and the rooms are perfectly comfortable for unwinding after a day in Florence. It is located within walking distance of everything in Florence, and it’s conveniently located near a few bus stops for getting to/from the train station with luggage. We would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is absolutely charming and could not be in a better location! From The second we checked in, the owners were helpful and kind - I can’t thank them enough for helping with luggage and taxi! So sweet. Beyond that, the location is excellent. Just down from the Ponte Vecchio and directly across from the Pitti Palace. We were able to walk all over the city easily, and we could always open the window and let the city into our room, too! Such a lovely stay!!
