SPECTACULAR! DON’T look for any other place for breakfast in Florence! This is the place you MUST try! The omelettes are healthy, hardy and delicious! The coffees are American size! Be prepared to spend time trying to drink the XL cappuccino! Served with a splash of chocolate powder and pistachios on top! And before you leave, please try the pistachio croissant, you’ll feel like they fell from heaven!

OMG Pistachio croissant IS SO NICE! (but tooo sweet of course, can’t finish it alone, definitely need to share) it has lots of pistachio cream, very tasty. And coffee is huge. Very high cp value. Many people had a brunch there. Highly recommended.

Ala Grande is one of those "hole in the wall-must visit" restaurant in Florence. It's got the perfect balance of service and tasty food. We visited the place twice: one for breakfast and one for lunch. For breakfast my wife had an amazing omelette (difficult to find in Italy for breakfast) and I had a Super toast sandwich (Bread, Italian cream cheese with nuts, and cured ham, I added sun dried tomatoes) both were great. My large cappuccino coffee was very very large (like two American mugs size), my reco is fo with medium size. they has a cream cheese-salmon-bagel sandwich that was also great. For lunch I had pasta, which was surprisingly good. All the flavors were there. The owner and the server noted we returned from the previous day and gave us the VIP treatment (a couple of pistachio and chocolate filled croissants) for free. I highly recommend visitin them. All the staff speaks English which is very convenient. Prices are very affordable, quality and taste of the food is amazing.

Pistachio almond was really good and so were the pancakes! They really know their pistachio cream! Coffee was really good. Omelette was okay - I didn't find anything special. The orange lemon juice was a bit too lemony

Also the pistachio croissant so good, never had one so delicious before. Big omelet and tasty. Friendly and kind staff. They even gave us a complimentary coffee and croissant. For sure highly recommend it. We been here every morning of our trip and it was a pleasure each time.

One of the best breakfasts in Firenze! We were greeted by the kindest lady and seated. We had an omlette, a spicy salami sandwich, croissants and coffee. Everything was super duper! Tasted great and fresh. Service was quick and they were very very sweet to check on us and if we liked everything. They even gave us espresso and croissants on the house which was the most amazing gesture. Really loved the hospitality- every member of the staff was super and made our experience a memorable one. A must visit in my opinion!

Hands down the best cafe I have been do in Italy. What amazing finger licking food - the pancakes and cappuccino are to kill for. To top of it off, the team is the best and most polite and cheerful people i have ever met. Mauro you're the best❣️ Much love! Will come here always when in Florence.

AMAZING 🤩 What a great place for a nice breakfast/brunch. The staff is really attentive, the place is nice and cozy. They offer a great selection of hot drinks (cappuccino ginseng or cappuccino with pistachio) and delicious food. I had the banana and peanut butter pancakes: tasty and very good price for the quantity. I highly recommend the place.

Best croissants we had in Firenze. There were so full of filling. The best one was the pistachio flavor. The sandwiches were also very good. The staff were very friendly. It's a must place if you're looking for a breakfast or a brunch in Firenze. Totally recommended.

A cute little cafe off the beaten path with excellent food and service. As a vegetarian it can be difficult to a find decent selection of options. They had quite a few options on their breakfast menu! The waitress was attentive and sweet. I would highly recommend any vegetarian or non vegetarian try this cute cafe while travelling in Florence.

Came here after we got off the train for a quick snack and coffee after the journey we had to get to Florence. Very nice place. Looks like a tourist trap but it's not!! The sandwiches are really good and the also the coffee, and the prices are reasonable and fair. It's not the best I had in Florence, but it is definitely a great place. Friendly and kind staff, that speaks English pretty well (at least our server did). I wouldn't cross the city for it, but if you're looking for a quick bite, and you're in the area, this is definitely a place you should consider.

Walked by twice and finally we could sit. The staffs are friendly but they were a little bit under staff. We and the neighbors got free croissants, which is really friendly. The food price-quality is good.

An amazing caffè! We stopped in after a trip to the academy museum and were treated with the nicest welcome possible! Amazing staff, delicious food and all reasonably priced. It was so refreshing to visit a place that doesn’t rip you off being a tourist. Also has a bathroom if needed. Would recommend to anyone & will visit again.

During our visit to Florence, my partner and I stumbled upon Ala Grande Caffè, and we couldn't have been happier with the experience. This hidden gem left us amazed by its authentic, handmade delights and impeccable service. First and foremost, the food at Ala Grande Caffè was beyond exceptional. Every dish, including the pasta, was meticulously made by hand right in the shop. The simplicity of the pasta amazed us, and its taste was nothing short of heavenly. The Cannolis with Pistachio 🤤, Croissants, and The New York Bagel were equally outstanding - bursting with flavours that only come from skilled craftsmanship. Not only does Ala Grande Caffè excel in its culinary creations, but the dedication of the staff is equally commendable. They wake up super early each day to prepare all the pastries, and their hard work shines through in every bite. The staff went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. They kindly invited us to try a Croissant, even though we didn't end up ordering it. Before closing time, we refrained from ordering coffee, as the coffee machine was being cleaned. However, the staff surprised us with a couple of espressos to complement our fantastic meal. Their hospitality and warmth were unparalleled and made us feel like cherished guests. The overall ambiance of the café was cozy and welcoming, making us feel right at home. We appreciated the dedication and passion that resonated through every corner of the establishment. It was evident that Ala Grande Caffè takes immense pride in their craft, and that pride shines through in every aspect of the dining experience. After spending a week in Florence and trying various establishments, Ala Grande Caffè stands out as one of the best breakfast-brunch experiences we had. We wholeheartedly recommend this cafe to anyone looking for a truly authentic and delightful culinary journey. Thank you, Ala Grande Caffè, for making our visit so memorable, and we can't wait to return!

His culinary prowess transforms each dish into a work of art, such as stuffed crème and Hazelnut croissants a symphony of flavors that dance on the palate. The menu is a testament to Chef Mauro's dedication to innovation and his commitment to sourcing the finest, freshest ingredients. Every bite tells a story of passion and expertise, leaving a lasting impression that lingers on the taste buds. Nicole's knowledge of the menu is impressive, and her recommendations were nothing short of culinary genius. Her genuine passion for ensuring guests feel not just attended to, but genuinely cared for, elevates Ala Grande's hospitality to extraordinary heights. The ambiance at Ala Grande is a perfect balance of sophistication and comfort. The stylish decor and cozy atmosphere create a welcoming space that is ideal for any occasion, whether an intimate dinner for two or a celebratory gathering with friends. Today, we’re looking for a good breakfast place and this is where we landed. It was seven of us (4 adults + 3 boys) and this is not a big place so I thought for sure it would take a while before we could sit down, but the host/waitress extraordinaire Nicole got us seated in just a few minutes, so that was definitely a great start! Once seated, the service was awesome and we felt so well taken care of! Nicole was super friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our group was having a great experience, and that’s what happened! The food was great! We had an amazing breakfast so I’m glad we found this little hole/jewel in the wall! We will certainly go back if we have the opportunity!

Amazing food with impeccable service ❤️ We ordered omelette, pistachio pancakes, cappuccino with oat milk and mocha - everything tasted so fantastic and the portions are huge too! The lovely owner also offered us complimentary pistachio croissants and espresso shots. The croissant is a must-have, you cannot miss it!

So so good ! I was craving something sweet on this particular morning and I saw this caffe, which had pancakes!! So I decided to go there and let me tell you, these pistachio pancakes were heavenly. The pistachio cream was delicious, the pancakes were the perfect texture. It was very filling as I couldn’t finish the whole thing, and I’m a pretty big eater. Also, the staff was so nice and so helpful so it’s definitely a plus. Will eat here again if I’m back in Firenze!

This was my favorite place in Florence! I loved the atmosphere, food and staff. Everyone was friendly and the service was fast. They have several sizes of coffee from small to Xl. I got the large and I was not disappointed, the picture truly doesn't do the size justice, $5 euros. The food was fantastic, all fresh ingredients. I had the New York Bagel and my husband had one of the omelettes. We spent around $20 euros and it was worth every $! Pay attention to the times they are open. This is a perfect breakfast place that I could have eaten at every day we were there.

Excellent service from everyone here. Tried the Rosa omelette and the mini veg panini which were both excellent. Followed up with a pistachio croissant & cappuccino that was as also top notch. What stood out the most for me was the hospitality of the staff. They were extremely warm and welcoming which really made my visit special.

Great food, great service, great looking place. We had one of the omelettes, the big brioche and, of course, the huge cappuccino. If you like your coffee stronger, like I do, I would suggest getting the americano or espresso, but the XXL cappuccino really is a sight to behold. Be prepared to share it between 2 - 3 people. The large Americano really is very large — you might want to get the medium or share the large. You can always order more coffee later if it’s not enough. The brioche was very soft and tasty. The orange juice and lemonades are homemade from fresh fruit. The staff is very friendly. When you go, you’ll probably be met with a big smile by Matteo. He’s a super kind Florence local and he even made a list of must-see places for us.

Wow this place was AMAZING! The staff were very friendly and immediately sat us down at the patio. My god the Panini, croissant and cappuccino were nothing short of perfect. The bread to filling ratio was perfect. They even gave us a complimentary pistachio croissant. It was probably the most delicious thing we had at the cafe, so that was really appreciated. *Edit: on our way out they gave us another croissant to take with us. So generous and welcoming.

Wow wow wow! I loved this place. We came for breakfast. There is always a queue outside, for good reason - it’s so good. We were 4th in the queue but moved forward within 10 minutes. Even though people wait, we didn’t feel rushed - in fact, they told us to take our time! I ordered the pistachio croissant and the bacon pancakes. Both were lovely. The pistachio croissant was honestly the best croissant I’ve ever had. I’d definitely recommend trying it - even if it’s to take away! Beware that the large and XXL coffees are huge - the XXL was bowl-sized! You’ll definitely be caffeinated! The staff were also super friendly and helpful. They even threw in a free croissant at the end. I’d highly recommend - and it’s worth the wait in line.

In this small alternative cafe you can find the most amazing breakfast or brunch in Florence with the friendliest service! There is a very wide variety of sandwiches, the tastiest croissants with special fillings and very fresh ingredients! We tried the savoury brioche bread with ham, rucola and local cheese and two types of croissants the pistachio cream one and the custard cream one! The second one was a treat from the host of the place! Bear in mind that this place is most times full of people and you need to wait a couple of minutes in the queue. Also the medium cappuccino is actually double one and the large one is actually huge !!! :)While waiting, you will receive a small cup of filter coffee from the owner! I totally recommend the place!!!

Excellent small, vibey Cafe. The staff are very friendly, service is quick and there are always lots of people after 9am. We just had omelettes and paninis but the pancakes being served next to us looked amazing. This is an inexpensive cafe which is perfect for breakfast.

We had one spicy salami toast, one ham toast and one pistachio croissant for breakfast. The toasts were great, and the croissant was amazing. Soft, fresh and tasty! To drink we had cappuccino and orange-lemon juice, both was really good too. The staff was super friendly and caring. When we got our pistachio croissant, we also received a complementary chocolate croissant, free of charge. When we paid for our food, the cashier handed us ANOTHER extra croissant free of charge! And we're talking generous-sized croissants! Amazing place, very happy with everything!

Everything we had was wonderful! My husband and I had a hard time choosing because a lot on the menu sounded delicious but we went for the bagel with cream cheese, sun dried tomato and bacon and of course a pistachio croissant. We thought we were smart when ordering a large cappuccino instead of 2 medium, but 1 medium would have been enough 😅 the staff is super fast and very efficient, we didn't wait very long although there was a long queue.

A nice breakfast spot close to the Accademia Gallery if you’re planning to go there before/after. The service was great and the staff were very friendly but h fortunately the food looks better than it tasted. We tried the spicy salami sandwich, pistachio pancakes, and pistachio croissant and they were nice but nothing too special. The portions are also huge so we couldn’t finish our pancakes, as they were a bit dry and the pistachio cream had undissolved sugar in it.

The pistachio cream croissant was my favorite. It had a lot of cream inside, not just on top, super sweet and flaky, very good. Also got a meat filled croissant which was also great. They have different sizes for drinks which is nice, the large is definitely a good size. Everything was delicious, staff was quick and friendly.

Best place for Breakfast in Florence. Fantastic food with friendly service. The tiramisu pancakes were fantastic, alongside the pistachio croissants which were heavenly. Huge mimosas with fresh orange juice. The owner was also there and very friendly, checking in how our meal was. Very good value for money too, they were very generous and gave us some free pastries too!

Great American breakfast spot. This place has delicious pancakes with choices from Pistachio pancakes, honey, orange cream pancakes, and others. The omelets are pretty big enough to fill you up. The bagels are also great, but know they’re big. The service was outstanding. The owner will greet you at the entrance as he serves delicious pistachio croissants. We were considering getting a croissant, but the owner had it ready as we waited to be seated. It was an excellent, unexpected treat.

Super friendly and attentive staff and a cool vibe. They even helped us call a cab to get back to our hotel (our day was a mad scramble and we were running tight on time to rental our rental car). We ordered a ton of food, unfortunately none of which was stellar. Bagel, house omelette, and lattes (hot and iced). The croissants were nice but a bit too sweet for our tastes.

It is my first time visiting Florence and it really made my day. We went there around 12pm, and I have to wait for the table. The waitress gave us espresso, so we will taste it when waiting. The food is awesome and we enjoy so much. When we check the bill, they also gave us the pistachio bread. I would highly recommend you to go there and have a perfect morning.

This place has passionate, caring owners and the potential to be great, but it’s currently lacking in many areas. Pros: Service was outstanding—we were waiting a long time for our food, so they gave us a free nutella-filled croissant to tide us over. After we got up to pay without finishing the meal, the owner asked us for our thoughts, listened carefully to our critiques and refused to accept payment from us. Cons: The pancakes, cappuccino, and orange juice were unsatisfying, and not at all what we expected from the other reviews. The pistachio cream had a rich flavor, but the pancakes were undercooked and gooey. The fruit and ricotta pancakes had fresh fruit, but the ricotta was a poor textural complement to the pancakes. The cappuccino tasted almost like a warm milk with a hint of coffee.

  • 3/5 Prashant M. 1 year ago on Google
The coffee was all right, and the orange juice I ordered was notably less flavorful than I had hoped. Furthermore, the fruit & ricotta pancakes were undercooked such that the texture was cakey and I could still taste the flour in each bite. I also didn’t see the ricotta and their pancake texture as a strong choice of combination. Lastly, the syrup was overwhelmingly sweet and sugary. That said, the fruit was solid, and the the pistachio cream on my friend’s pistachio pancakes was quite nice & flavorful. The servers were also friendly and clearly cared a LOT (they gave us a complimentary pastry for the long wait & only charged us for the coffee when they realized we didn’t like the food & OJ). Although my experience here wasn’t the greatest, I would give it a second chance because of the great service.
