Beautiful gardens and totally worth a look. It's free to get in and can be accessed from the Piazzale Michelangelo. Quite a few stairs though but really worth the effort to make your way all the way down. There is no exit at the bottom though so keep in mind you'll need to get back up all the stairs.

Beautiful iris garden next to the Piazzale Michelangelo, overlooking Florence. Open only one month per year (May). Entrance to the garden is free.

Beautiful garden with Iris flowers bred for a competition, only open for a small window so it's worth a visit.

It is really beautiful!! 🥰 A lot of different varieties - colour combinations The garden is free but you can donate or buy the souvenirs and it would benefit from funding The disadvantage for me was : There are two entrances (as you can see in the map) but the one where I wanted to go in is closed so I need to walk to the other gate that located in the other side So please enter the garden from piazza Michelangelo (across David statue)

Great to go in spring when so many were in beautiful bloom! Wonderful place to stop and read on one of the plentiful benches after the walk up the hill!

Hundreds of varieties of Iris - beautiful colour combinations. Please donate when you visit as it is run by volunteers and it would benefit from funding

Only open from April 25 - May 20 when the irises die, but I reccomend it if you enjoy other flower festivals. Extremely beautiful and is also dotted with beautiful olive trees.

Garden with flowers, it would need a bit of maintenance. Good place to rest after a long walk until piazza Michelangelo.

Amazing garden with a beautiful history. Read the little booklet they will give you when you enter the garden and stroll on the paths among the irisis.

We arrived here with perfect timing. These gardens are not open for much of the year. We visited the garden in the second week of May 2013 and it was a perfectly sunny day with many different Iris flowers to view.

This is a beautiful place. I could have spent more time there but had to leave Florence. Absolutely loved it - it was a meditation. Felt so lucky to visit - timing was perfect as only open for a short time each year! Fantastic 💕
