Giardino Nidiaci

Tourist attraction Park Community garden

👍👍 The garden, donated to the population of San Frediano by the American Red Cross in 1920, is almost unknown and yet it is the secret heart of the neighborhood, a place where children can play in peace and safety and families meet again. Free football, violin, English and singing courses. People often mention children,

Wonderful garden in the heart of San Frediano, the neighborhood's meeting place, there are several very beautiful games, also made of wood, such as swings for adults and children, a climbing frame and many others. There is a kind of playroom where there are skates, bikes etc. That everyone can use, as well as books. A magical place, a shame for private residential construction which has stolen half the garden to build luxury homes with parking spaces, taking away precious space for children.

Small, very precious segment of public greenery with a very tormented and interesting history, in the heart of the very Florentine district of San Frediano, exactly behind the apses of the Carmine church and a stone's throw from Piazza Santo Spirito, very popular with families and children in the area, with no alternatives to the much larger (but a little distant) park of the Art Institute starts just outside Porta Romana. Quite chaotic atmosphere, given the very high presence of children rightly screaming at all hours, therefore certainly not suitable if you are looking for a quiet corner to read a book or for a romantic meeting with your boyfriend or girlfriend. The "voluntary" management of the spaces is a bit perplexing, in fact in the evening the space appears littered with toys abandoned everywhere by young users, which parents are careful not to collect and place in the designated spaces before leaving.

A precious garden for children and parents. A protected and shared space in which children experience their autonomy but in safety. The volunteers' commitment to keeping this place in the Oltrarno where you can breathe the air of community open and enjoyed as much as possible is enormous. Which is rare in the city centre.

Lovely little play area for children, a little in need of TLC but all the children were very happy playing closes early evening and only residents have the key. Joined in a music group very friendly and welcoming a great night with them,
