This was such a wonderful place to enjoy a traditional Florentine Steak. The owners and staff were so pleasant and felt like family. We opted for the “regular” way of enjoying an Italian Meal!! With a first a second etc. The appetizers of meat and cheese and breads were delicious…. The spaghetti was Ragu with a nice portion of meat sauce and fresh home made noodles…. While the entree of 1 kg or just over 2 pounds of aged T-Bone steak was so tender and filled with flavor…. You just did not want the evening to end. Paired with Chianti and a generous dessert of tiramisu made for a wonderful evening of just flavors you can only get in this part of the world. As much as I try to replicate at home on my own grill!! This was wonderful. Alex and Alissa were such helpful hosts and will make your dining experience the best!!

Absolutely incredible meal. My partner and I opted for the €100 shared meal which included an epic meat board with cheese, spaghetti al ragu, ensalada misto (not pictured), the absolutely divine ribeye Florentine, tiramisu, a bottle of water, a very nice bottle of Chianti and coffee, finished with some limoncello. We felt the value for the quality was superb and the amount of food we received was immense! They were kind enough to pack up the leftovers for us and we feasted again the following night. The interior of the restaurant was charming and had a quaint, romantic vibe. The service was efficient and professional and once they warmed up to us, helped make this a special dining experience for our last night in Florence. Higly recommend this excellent little restaurant to anyone!

This small restaurant was a real find. We hadn't eaten all day and went for a late lunch. We started with a sampler appetizer that Alex had made just for us. It had all sorts of wonderful food on it -- chicken liver paste, tomato on crostini, cannellini crostini, thin slices of prosciutto and sausage, peccorino cheese, etc. We also got the asparagus flan, which was delicious. My husband and I got the filets with gorgonzola and walnuts (fantastic!!). I got a side of spinach, which was great. My husband got a salad. How does lettuce taste that good!!! One daughter got taglioni and porcini. The other daughter got gnocchi with gorgonzola and pear. The house chianti was very good, too. Service was excellent, but we came between lunch and dinner so were the only patrons. The atmosphere was cozy and clean. I highly recommend!

Yet again, the back streets of Florence hides another gem of a restaurant. Wasn't aware before I came to Florence that it is famed for steaks. The mushroom and truffle started the meal brilliantly, and the then the best steak ever accompanied by a beautiful red wine. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

This was our lunch spot after walking around Florence. It wasn’t very busy when we came and the restaurant has very nice decor. We ordered wild boar pasta and Osso Buco. The wild boar pasta was delicious. The meat of the Osso Buco was a bit chewy. Overall it was a nice restaurant and would try other items next time.

Amazing dinner. The steak was amazing. Service is great. We got the $100 steak meal for 2 and it’s a ton of food and you will be happy you got it. Oh and a bottle of wine is included in that price. Thanks.

We have had mixed feelings about meals in Florence because we’ve had both good and poor meals here. We felt a good vibe as we walked by this side street restaurant, checked reviews, and came back. I ordered the Pici di Mare (fish). Homemade noodles with fish. The waitress said it would be octopus, mussels, and shrimp. There was no shrimp and maybe three tiny mussels. All rather tough octopus, and mostly noodles. However the side dish of spinach in garlic was delicious. My husband ordered a tenderloin steak with truffle sauce. It was delicious, perfectly cooked rare, heavy on garlic. It came on a piece of toast with lettuce and balsamic. He had a side of grilled vegetables that were delicious, but not warm. We each also had a glass of house wine that was also quite good. Service was attentive even though we were the last lunch customers. I would recommend the restaurant for steak and vegetables, but not for the pasta dish I had. That was disappointing.

Great experience for Bistecca Florentina. We went mid afternoon and the restaurant was quiet, no need for a reservation that time of day. They have authentic chianina and a good house red. We had these and cacio e pepe, all for a good price that you can't find in the more touristy areas.

Our family had a great dinner here. The dry-aged Tuscan steak was excellent. The pasta, especially the homemade lasagna bolognese, was delicious. Our server was friendly and helpful, and the space was very nice. Cozy and comfortable on a sweltering Florence night. Highly recommend!

The bruschetta was soggy from tomato juice. The steak was meant to be medium rare but was raw in certain areas, very tough and the fat wasn't rendered.

I have lived in Florence for three months now and this is by far my absolute favorite restaurant. I have tried so many different items from their menu and I have never been disappointed. Even simply dishes like caprese were outstanding. The tomato’s were so fresh and flavorful and the mozzarella was so creamy and fresh as well. Their is the also most adorable and kind young waitress named Ella. I have had her every single time that I have been and she truly has made my experience their unforgettable!! I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant to anyone and hopefully you will be lucky enough to have Ella as your server!! :)))

Stopping here for lunch was unplanned, which is usually risky in a city as touristy as Florence, but we had a plan. We avoided menus that looked intended for the tourists and we looked for restaurants offering Tuscan classics like Pappa al Pomodoro and Ribollita and our plan worked. Mangiafuoco was a great choice that hit all the right notes. We enjoyed our two new favorite Tuscan bread soups, Pappa al Pomodoro with tomatoes and Tuscan bread, and Ribollita, with bread and vegetables. Both were hearty and delicious that were a welcome change from all the meat we ate the day before. I don’t normally like the unsalted bread in Tuscany, but the basket brought to the table was used to mop up every last drop of both soups. We had a side of roasted potatoes and a bottle of house red wine that was inexpensive and delicious. We didn’t get dessert because we had other plans, but we thoroughly enjoyed the meal and definitely would recommend it for lunch.

Good service. The Florentine steak was juicy. We had two bottles of the Chianti wine so the bill went up a bit.

Very good restaurant in a quiet street away from the crowded touristic area. Perfect service. Excellent meat. Water and wine included in 25€ menu! I can only recommend it

The food was excepcional, local stuff and fresh pasta. In my opinion was one of the best places I’ve eaten in Florence. We ordered a few desserts and they were delicious, specially the tiramisu and “torta della nonna”. Nice staff and I’ll definitely repeat.

My wife and I went here tonight and, to be honest... It was not good. The environment was great, and the service was good. But for the food... We started with the gnocchi with gorgonzola cheese and walnuts. It was decent, but I'd recommend they reconsider the walnuts. Adding texture to the dish is good, but they're too dry for the gnocchi. I then got the steak tenderloin with red wine sauce, but it was not good. The red wine sauce was just... Bad. Like, I'm not sure if something was missing in the sauce that was intended to be there, but it was very unbalanced and the flavor was off. My steak was quite undercooked too. My wife got the chicken with mozzarella and it was decent. The roasted potatoes were the best things we had tonight.

We were tourists looking for a nice restaurant in Florence and we found this place with delicious looking steak on Google. We had the 100euro menu for 2 that included a bottle of wine, water, coffee, meat and cheese platter, 2 meat sauce ragu, salad, 1kg steak and 2 tiramisu. The waiter was a delight and welcomeing person. Come hungry it is delicious and you will love it here.

👍👍 You'll always see queues, but they are actually quite fast, so don't stress! They helped us with recommendations.
