If you are looking for an authentic Italian shopping experience, this is the place. Fresh produce, meats, cheeses, pastries, nuts, pasta...also clothes, shoes, household goods...everything! You'll be picking out your items along local residents and buying from local farmers and merchants. There are boutique restaurants inside, too, with places for sit-down dining. Prices for everything are super affordable. We love this place!

Smaller market serving the locals with less tourists than the Central Market. Probably not worth the effort if you’re on foot and visiting Florence for only a day or two.

We had a nice and cheap breakfast with good coffee in the day time. At night the upstairs is opened. It's like a food court with a very wise variety of food and drinks. Can shop for souvenirs like olive oil, balsamico etc too. Nice and lively ambience suitable for families with kids

Fantastic market. On the inside you have meats, cheeses, fish, pasta, a restaurant, and a great coffee shop. On the outside (covered), you have fruits and vegetables, as well as clothing, flowers, etc. The coffee shop in the center of the market serves the workers as well as walk-up patrons - it is not to be missed. Probably the best cappuccinos that I had on our 7 week vacation and only 1.40€. The young couple that runs it is very nice (and busy). This market serves 90% locals unlike the touristy central market.

When you visit Sant'Ambrogio Market in Florence, be prepared for an unforgettable experience. I was overwhelmed the amazing fragrance of fish meats and spices in this expansive marketplace. It is truly a place where you'll need a minimum of 2 days to enjoy and reap the benefits of learning about Italian cuisine and more.

It was very nice to go back to buying griceries at the market. I really missed it. Inside, it's clean and there are spaces to eat too. Sellers are very nice.

A lovely market which is less tourists and a good chance to walk and see different booths to see various ingredients composed for the Italian family dishes. There are also small food stands to try the very local flavours.

All fantastic!! I didn't take any photos inside, I was too busy looking at all the delicious looking food!! (Visited 3-6/10/22).

This little shop is ran by a middle-aged couple. The wife can speak English and the husband always wears a smile. I enjoyed their lampredotto. Good quality and cheap.

The open-air produce market in front of the enclosed market is fantastic. We go there regularly to buy the freshest, sweetest, juiciest clementines...

We called in here on a street food tour, full of local fresh produce and it so happened the day was also the market's 150th birthday! You should really try and call here and sample some of the amazing foods they have on offer. A step back in time but great to see!

Now we’re talking. This was a real authentic market. After our disappointment at the Central Market we were very pleasantly surprised by the fresh products and the main reason for this review: the Torta de Ceci (also known as Cecina, Ceci) This traditional and simple mixture of chickpea flour, delicious olive oil, salt and pepper is the perfect (not to mention authentically vegan and gluten free) snack to go! This version was a bit dryer compared to the many other we tasted afterwards, but gets the star for being a pioneer for us!

Great place to get raw materials but also a few places to grab a bite. Plenty of locals going about their day. Has a lovely vibe. Visit the cheese shop near the fishmonger to grab some Parmesan to take home. Lovely shopkeeper who spoke great English and let us taste before purchasing.

Always a great experience! Wide range of high quality meats, fruits, vegetables, dairy products from amazing sellers. And you have to stop by the cafe bar inside for a coffee and a croissant with pistacchio! 🤌

What a lovely local market. The cappuccino at the bar inside was delicious and a great way to start the day. Definitely a foodie's paradise. The stuff we sampled were excellent, pecorino being my favorite. If the hubby and I decided to retire and buy a little condo or apartment here as a 2nd home, we'd be here almost everyday buying groceries and chopping it up with the locals and vendors.

Amazing indoor farmer's market. Do look around, the same items can be found at different booths at different prices.

Wonderful small market. Look inside for Stefano and Beatrice, they have most wonderful cheeses and salumi! The stand is across fish stand

Literally my favorite thing in Florence. Amazing food at the stalls inside. Amazing produce outside. On Saturday there are extra food vendors outside. We found a little stall that made fresh pasta for lunch and made us a cheese and salume platter, offered bread, olives and red wine. Very generous, very good value and a true local feeling experience which we found nearly impossible to find in Florence. The stalls inside sell fresh produce, fresh raw seafood and meat + all kinds of cooked creations and desserts. A true gem.

I love this market! It has a good mix of shops and restaurants. Rocco's restaurant serves excellent food and the cheese shops are amazing.

What an amazing place to go in Florence! You get a little bit of everything not to mention you can do a little shopping as well. Perfect stop off location between the Duomo and leather markets. I can’t recommend just one thing because I had so many good things. Fresh calamari, arancini, homemade pasta made in just a few minutes from ordering not to mention the superb wine selection with super knowledgeable staff. If you’re in the area or not, definitely make it a stop!

This is a great alternative to the fancier Mercato Centrale. Food selection is great and prices are affordable.
