Beautiful basilica! Very well maintained and worth the ticket price of €8. Many well-known historical figures are buried here such as Da-Vinci and Dante. Amazing paintings and sculptures throughout the basilica.

I would call this a must see in Florence. We loved this basilica, and it's beautiful inside and out! It only costs 8 euros per person to get in, and we easily spent an hour admiring the architecture and the tombs (the most famous being Michelangelo and Galileo). There are free maps inside in different languages to help you understand what you're looking at, as well as free toilets. Also, we entered this church with no reservations, we just bought our tickets at the entrance and that was it, quite a nice change of pace compared to everything else in Florence.

An absolute Must-See. Not only is the art world class, but so many famous Italians are honored here or have their tomb here. The church spectacular, but so is the cloister. Entrance is in the right side of the church and the exit is on the left side through the cloister. For my American friends: The CDC vaccination card is accepted everywhere instead of the European Green Pass

We loved visiting this basilica. Both Michelangelo and Galileo can be found here in their tombs. There is a beautiful courtyard and a few areas where relics of saints remain. There is a lot of Latin and Italian and not a ton of English to be read but it is beautiful nonetheless. We went on a Friday when it was raining. There was little to no wait and a toilet for easy use. There were multiple rooms for viewing such as the old cafeteria hall where the holy priests and monks used to eat way back in the day. The church and altar were breath taking with the gold surrounding the main focus points. I would recommend doing this during rain or during the week. Otherwise lots of people and big groups we found were in and out constantly. We did not buy tickets before and tickets are 8 euros per person.

Beautiful cathedral. Lots of interesting art and sculpture. I especially appreciated the exhibit they have right now about Dante's Inferno! Totally worth the 8€ entrance free.

This Basílica has very beautiful exterior architecture, its interior is also very beautiful. I really enjoyed my time here, it’s much bigger than it looks. I would recommend visiting this Basilica when in Florence, it’s definitely worth checking out.

Not to be missed visit to this church. Beautiful art, chapels, cloisters, and the tombs of many world famous historic Italian persons, like Galileo, Michelangelo, Dante and Machiavelli.

Such a beautiful owe inspiring cathedral. Ticket for an adult is 15€. Once stepped inside, I can feel the greatness of God, and the influence that God has on the great artists and artisans of the past. Everything is meticulusly made with passion and soul. The cathedral is huge, finely ordinated with sculptures, painting, murals, and artifacts from the old days. It would be tough even for today's advances in technology in construction to replicate this holy sanctuary. The huge paintings on the walls, life-size sculptures made of marbles, tombs of knights in the floor. The experience was like a scene from a movie, gives me goosebumps just writing this review. I took way more pictures than I posted, but I wanted you to experience the greatness with your own eyes. The paintings and artifacts in the church are priceless. There is no other places that you can see them in the world. Luckily there were too many people the day I visited.

Beautiful church and artwork. I visited at the end of the day and the evening light in the courtyard was so peaceful. They give you a map on entry but I still found it difficult to know what I was looking at. Maybe the audio guide would be a good idea here!

I got here by accident, so I was quite surprised, how many famous people have their graves here. Micheal Angelo, Galileo, Machiavelli. In opposition to other religious places I’ve seen in Italy, you have to buy a ticket to enter.

On my final morning in Florence, I visited this Basilica after seeing it on my map of places to visit. Booking tickets online was quick and easy, and once inside, I was treated to a memorable experience. Most churches allow entry without any map or interpretation. The map I was given demarcated the locations of tombs and artworks and who they are associated with whilst also offering a clear self guided tour of the Basilica. Can recommend a stop in this beautiful but understated icon of Florence!

An absolute hidden gem in Florence. This is as good as the Florence cathedral without the queue. I was pleasantly surprised to see Machiavelli's tomb in here too. A great piece of history in an awe-inspiring location.

Always worth a visit. The uniqueness in the structure and the high wooden roofs and the various tombs of people we have all heard of or know are within these walls!! A must see and enjoy. Lines are easy of any and it’s only €8 euros.

Incredible Florentine cathedral with a fascinating history. Book ahead, get the audio guide, and plan to spend around 2 hours in total. You will be asked to leave your ID with the ticket clerk if you’re buying an audio guide, so be sure to go back for it. The Florentine leather school is right behind the church so you can stop in afterward for some shopping too if you like.

Beautiful church with a lot of burial places of famous Renaissance artists. Well worth a visit. Also because of the tranquility of the cloister churches. Takes you right out of the hustle of the city.

Beautiful basilica. Very famous people are buried there so a must visit. The architecture is amazing so take time to admire the work. Long lines so arrive early to avoid them. Not very expensive to visit. Only a few blocks from downtown Florence.

Beautiful basilica, but not as ornate as some. This basilica houses tombs of many famous people including Michael Angelo and Machiavelli. I believe Galileo is also there, or it is just a memorial of some sort..i couldn't really tell. Admission is 8 euros.

Spiritual and nice Basilica with specious area to see Spend around 2 hours to see different halls and yards. Got ticket in person but was very fast. Chose it since there were long queues at Accademia Galley and Cathedral of Santa Maria, and like it. Recommended!

A historic church housing the tombs of some great people — like Galileo, Michelangelo, and Dante. There are also memorial plaques for Da Vinci, Fermi (the famous nuclear physicist), and Marconi (the inventor of radio). These great Italians changed the human history and consequently more or less affected us as well!

I literally enjoyed the Basilica! You dont have to queue for hours, the price is reasonable compared to other's and you'll be amazed by such beauty! I can only recommend

Beautiful cathedral and courtyard that is definitely worth visiting. We haven't bought tickets online but the waiting time was (luckily) under 10 minutes (on a workday). The line did became larger when we had our tickets so I do recommend people to buy tickets online if possible.

Monumental cathedral that hosts tombs and cenotaphs of decisive figures in world's culture and science. A very good opportunity to stop and reflect on many things... Our comfortable and serene modern life has countless roots in Florence, a crucible of arts and knowledge. Viewing and understanding the past helps to leap into the future.

Loved the architecture and story of this Basilica. Some of the most bright and famous people in the Italian history rest there. If you get the chance, you should visit.

A beautiful basilica! Not as visited as the other major churches in the city but personally, i find it much more interesting and beautifully decorated inside and out, the cloisters are islands of peace in a bustling city, it's well worth paying the fee to visit it if you are interested in Italian history and culture

A most fascinating basilica. Worth getting the audio guide. Bring your own head set or ear bud is my suggestion. So much history to learn. I found the floor funerary very captivating.

Disability Note: the winding ramp at the right corner of the church (from facing it in the piazza) provides access. Free for disabled and caregiver. The only Disabled toilet available on the left side of the church entrance (when facing church from piazza) accessed from the cloisters right behind the security desk. It is small and tight, but manageable. See pics Staff was very apologetic that the Sacristy with Chimabue Crucifix was inaccessible-encouraged us to send email to complain to mgmt. As of this posting May 4th 2022, the Giotto frescoes “the Stories of St. Francis” in the Bardi Chapel are completely covered by scaffolding and cannot be viewed. The adjacent chapel and several other works were visible (but with some difficulty for disabled guests). There are 5 or so steps leading into the chapel which must be overcome…somehow.

Last resting place for some brilliant minds. Galileo and Michelangelo to name a few. Bit more ornate than the main Florence duomo and much less crowded.

Really happy we visited this Basilica. There are monuments and tombs of famous Renaissance celebrities! The map doesn't show which tomb belongs to which and signs are in Italian (fair but unfortunate for us who can only read English). In one of the rooms, there is some beautiful artwork and also a robe and belt that was worn by St Francis. Worth a visit. Excellent value!

This church is BEAUTIFUL! And it holds the final resting places of brilliant minds like Dante, Michelangelo, and Galileo. Pro-tip: I visited this place in mid-April and it was a bit chilly inside. I would recommend bringing an extra sweater (or something).
