Incredible views and history of the independence campaign and others. Worth to walk to the top. Beware! They only take cash ! Spoilt only by the miserable guy in the ticket office who looked through us like we weren’t there even though we smiled and tried to engage in conversation. He seemed nice enough to the Italian visitors. Robots without prejudice will soon replace people like him. Don’t miss the near by Ossuary. Ossario di San Martino

Lovely local site. The tower, museum and ossuary are worth to visit if you're in surroundings of lake Garda. The site is between Sirmione and Desenzano. No need for advance bookings, you will purchase a ticket on site. The area is surrounded with a number of great local agriturismos, wineries and restaurants.

Tower is beautiful, has got a little bit of cobweb on the statues. Museum is small but well done. Aside from a multi-media-room the content is hardly outlined in English, therefore a little difficult to understand. Chapel is interesting (see picture).

An historic site of san martino battle, with a tower erected at the place and a small museum by its side. If you make an effort to get to the top, the view is incredible

Very cool site with lots of history. The presentation in theater room in the museum was well worth the price of admission. Also, the ossuary was worth the short walk.

This place is historically important for Italy and can be combined with another museum. You just walk up the Tower and it will leave you with an impressive view over lake Garda and the wineyards of Lugana.

Nice view from the top. Interesting pictures, videos and historical memories. Behind the tower is an interesting museum. /Clean and free toilets behind the museum/

A historical place of a battle of great importance: here Red Cross got invented at the site of a cruel bloodbath (which was still a children's pic-nic compared to the later battles of Somme, Socha or Verdun). But here you learn A LOT, because it was a turning point in warfare. Personally, my greatest relevation was that historians always say Austro-Hungarian Empire the Habsburgs, were uniting Europe. Here you learn that YES, they were uniting Europe - AGAINST THEM. Here united European armies (of Savoy, France and Italy) defeated the common enemy. Sadly, "the common enemy" was not only the Austrians, but their army was made of many nations that were forced to serve under them - that had nothing to do with Northern Italy or had anything against France. And again, the Austrians managed to unite Europe against them as Slavic nations began their fight for independence from their Empire. Sadly, millions of people had to die, and in some cases, much of that is wrong with Europe TODAY, originated in those times and the wrongs that caused all this - still exist.

Fun assent to the top, it was a great exercise. Definitely worth checking out. Very well put together, and for the common four languages. I recommend 2 hours to take everything in and read and watch.
