With a sudden tightening of Covid restrictions in December, I had to arrange a same day lateral flow test for one of my clients in order that they could catch their flight back to the UK as planned. Dr Kerr was incredibly accommodating and very kindly stayed late at his office to administer the test and email to us the fit-to-fly certificate we needed. I am so grateful to have discovered this charming doctor, centrally located right by the Ponte Vecchio - I can’t recommend highly enough.

Grateful for Dr. Kerr and his fantastic set up to allow walk-in tourists to see an English speaking doctor in no time flat, without an appointment. Came down with what I thought was a UTI and he was able to very quickly do an in-office test that came back negative, but then wrote a prescription for Cipro and recommended sending a sample for culture (and gave incredibly easy, detailed instructions to do so). I did that the next morning, waited 3 days to get the results. They came via email directly to me, I forwarded them to him (per his instructions) where he let me know my UTI culture came back positive and that I could pick up and start the antibiotics (even though we had since left Florence for Siena). Long story short (too late) - this was a better, smoother experience than almost all others I've had at home in the U.S. Thank you, Dr. Kerr and staff!

I am currently traveling around in Europe and i got really sick over night. Cold sweats, fever and a sore swollen throat. I googled doctors in Florence that take travelers. Dr Kerr popped up first. I had been sick for 3 days during my travels, and when we arrived in Florence, we called Dr. Kerr’s number found in our Rick Steves guide book. Dr. Kerr said to come right away and was able to see me when I arrived to his office. It was such a relief to communicate with an English-speaking doctor specializing in treating tourists. He was so kind and answered all my questions. The fees are straightforward on his website and are very reasonable. I was able to get my prescriptions filled at the pharmacy in the same building, and end to end the visit and getting my medications took at most an hour. Dr Kerr is an English speaking Doctor. Very kind and considerate. He looks after tourists and locals. He found time to book me in, even though his day was booked out. Thankyou and I'm now on the mend. His office is In the centre of florence, upstairs on the 4th floor and there is a chemist underneath. Just check opening times. I emailed ahead and had a very fast reply. Highly recommended.

He answers phone calls almost immediately and is usually able to fix a same-day appointment even during busy seasons. We had a medical issue come up during our Florence travels and found Dr. Kerr’s office recommended by the US Embassy. He was able to see us right away and provided kind, patient, and quick service. He explained everything in thorough detail, including how to fill medications at the pharmacy downstairs. From entering the office to getting our medications, the total time took less than 45 minutes. The total cost was also very affordable, around 70 euro. His receptionist was very kind and pleasant as well. Definitely recommend Dr. Kerr’s office for any English-speaking travelers or expats!

Dr Kerr is very professional and friendly and great English. I was down with fever and chills for 4 days. He gave antibiotics and I started feeling better almost immediately. Unlike the antibiotics I have taken previously ( which make me always dull and lethargic), the medicine Dr Kerr prescribed rather got my energy up. I called Dr Kerr at 8.15 one morning, having been in excruciating pain from a suspected trapped nerve. An hour later I was seeing him in his office. He was able to provide me with a prescription for pain killers which got me through the rest of our holiday. He also gave me a referral to a physio in the same building, should I need it (the pain killers helped enough that I didn't). His office is very centrally located and he is clearly used to seeing holidaymakers within as short a time as possible. If you need an English-speaking doctor while in Florence, do not hesitate to give him a call.

Dr Kerr was a godsend during our trip to Florence when wife came down with a bad sore throat. He was quick to see us on extreme short notice, very friendly, informative, and within an hour we had our prescription filled downstairs and were on our way. Just saw Dr. Kerr, for a problem my wife has struggled with for 3 weeks and 3 drs visits at home with no result. He took one look and organised a specialist referral straight away. He was very professional and very personable. So will recimreco him to anyone needing medical help in Florence.

While my eye condition was beyond his expertise he was able to call in a favour to get me an appointment with an opthamologist the next morning and provided me with information on eye emergency services at Careggi University Hospital if my condition worsened. After a visit to A&E in Pisa, I wanted a 2nd opinion from an English speaking and trained doctor to ease my concerns regarding a sore shoulder/arm and a possible lump under my arm. Dr Kerr is amazing! Not only did he answer my WhatsApp message on a Sunday night, but he was able to fit me in for an appointment the following day. Though he fit me in unscheduled, the appointment wasn’t rushed at all. He spent plenty of time explaining my options and he even has a pharmacy right downstairs. Definitely recommend!

I saw Dr. Kerr about a hearing impairment, which I hoped could be treated through ear lavage -- a gentle, time-consuming cleaning of the ear cavity of wax. His visual examination of the cavity showed it to be wax free. Other MDs might have proceeded with lavage anyway, or dismissed me to recover a few minutes on their patient schedule. Instead he took time to explain aspects of hearing loss that might apply in my case after considering my answers to questions about the impairment's duration, character and so on. I'm a professor; I appreciate thoughtful, jargon free explanations. He suggested practical options including available specialists, while making me better informed about quality of life issues. Dr. Kerr delivered in spades. And at no charge, beyond the low fee for the Covid test that I also scheduled with him. He is a modest professional who is very impressive.

Our family was on vacation in Florence, and our son came down with what appeared to be asthma or an allergic reaction. After going to two different ERs, we came across Dr. Kerr, who picked up the phone immediately and we were in his office 30 min later. I had a great experience with Dr Kerr. I was able to get in for an appointment the same day and he was thorough and courteous throughout. He explained what he was doing and why. When you get sick on the other side of the world from home, it was really reassuring to have such a good experience.

0/10 do not recommend. He gave myself and my girlfriend fake covid test results. Handed us both signed and stamped NEGATIVE test results without even swabbing our nose. After he hands you the form he takes a regular Qtip and swabs your nose for show. We were both in and out of his office in literally 9 minutes. Not possible for him to take and process two covid test results in that amount of time. While we were there he also did two other covid tests on some other tourists. Literally just a covid travel test mill. Should be ashamed to call yourself a doctor. Enrichment of your own wallet at the potential health expense of others. We went and got other covid tests after because we needed to be sure we were not getting others sick on our travels home. And to take the cake the test results he gives out look very amateur and I’d be shocked if it would pass a look over by authorities

On Tuesday 11/9/22 at 4:30 AM, I woke up with a severe, persistent we cough. I have asthma and thought it needed some professional attention. I did a quick google search and found Dr Kerr's website. I sent an email to his office before 5:00, request an "earliest convenience" appointment. Before 9:00, I had an email asking if 10:45 was acceptable. I got to the office at 10:30 and was in the consulting room with the Dr within 10 minutes. No Nonsense. I was treated as though I was a competent adult. In 10 minutes, I had a diagnosis, 'scripts and directions to a nearby emergency room if I really got into trouble. The medication proved very effective. I received a follow up email. I have never been disappointed in Medical services in Europe but Dr. Kerr was exceptionally effective and efficient. If you get into medical difficulties in Florence; go there
