First off, use Rick Steve’s free Audio Tour for this museum. Don’t pay for the audio tour from the museum. It’s not as good. Uffizi is definitely a must do in Florence. My favorite exhibit was from Michelangelo. Botticelli was also very good too. Honestly everything there was amazing. You can spend an entire day here if you wanted to.

This is one of the nicest if not the nicest art gallery you will ever visit in your life. You will see works of art here by the greatest artists, sculptors and painters of all time. If you visit Florence and don’t see the Uffizi Art Gallery, you really didn’t visit Florence. I really enjoyed my time spent here, go very early in the morning otherwise you might not get in. It’s extremely busy and always very packed. I would definitely recommend visiting this gallery when in Florence.

Beautiful and interesting gallery filled with paintings, sculptures and beautiful rooms. Takes quite a while to walk through, around 3 hours depending on how long you take on each piece of art work. I would recommend getting the audio guide as it helps you to understand the art in more depth and gives more information than on the plaques. There is also a nice café where you can grab a bite or sit and have a drink. There are a lot of seating area available and Toilets.

Excellent gallery and smooth experience. Those who better understand art will definitely appreciate it more than I did. The place is relatively big, will take 2-4 hours at least, depending on how much you spend by the art pieces. The place is filled with sculptures and amazing historic paintings. The architecture is very beautiful. Enjoyed my visit. Would definitely recommend it to others.

World-class, undoubtedly. One of the best museums I have ever seen. Make sure to book your ticket in advance to avoid queuing. And don't come earlier than the booked time slot since they let you enter maximum 15 minutes before. And--please--bring enough time to watch at least the most spectacular paintings. It's worth the effort, really. It's fantastic!

Probably the best collection of art / paintings that we would have ever seen, each better than the other! It's worth visiting Florence just for Uffizi. When you read about them (or better use the audio guide) these paintings also help us get a perspective on the life and style, economy of people in the era in which they were painted. Few tips for people visiting: 1. Book tickets in advance. Do take the audio guide, it'll give you the details, history and background of the paintings and make your trip exponentially pleasurable. 2. If you aren't an art lover then too budget atleast 5 hours as you'll become a lover when you are here. 3. Best to visit first thing in the morning, as they open. the crowds are a shade lesser than during mid day. Ideally go on a weekday. 4. Be prepared that it's going to be tiring, standing and moving slowly through the day, so wear the most comfortable footwear and dress. 5. Don't forget to carry your camera and water bottle. Don't need anything else as it becomes a liability, lugging it around the whole day.

This is a very nice museum with some quite amazing pieces of art. It is very busy but a visit is highly recommended. Most of the collection is sculptures from first and second centuries, as well as paintings and altarpiece from the 1500 and 1600’s. The building itself is also extensive decorated.

Unbelievably good gallery. Allow 4-5 hours to see it properly. It's busy, so take your time and be patient with the tours. They come in waves, so ride them out and you'll see everything. Also do enjoy the cafe, its a great stopping point to rest your feet halfway around, and the best location in Florence for a coffee!

Anyone who likes religious art and the Renaissance period should definitely come. While you are there, you should take a complete tour including all the floors. In addition to the well-known works such as the birth of Venus, the Madonna and the child, you should spend at least 2.5 to 3 hours with hundreds of works that are not so popular but definitely deserve to be seen. Even though it was low season, we waited in line for 30 minutes, so it would be good to buy tickets in advance, especially during peak periods. I also add the 2024 ticket and price table.

In addition to being one of the world's foremost art museums, the Uffizi is a one-stop history of Italian Renaissance art. Although it contains works by some of the great masters of western art, its greatest treasure is its collection of paintings that show step-by-step the evolution in painting that occurred here from the 14th to the 16th centuries. Here, you will see the first experiments with perspective, as well as some of the early portraits as painters moved beyond religious art, and some of the first use of naturalistic and scenic backgrounds in religious art.

Definitely buy tickets ahead of time.. can get very busy and the wait is not worth it over a few more euros.. You'll need 2-3 hours to take in most of the gallery.. A private guide is also very recommended as they can tailor the visit to your liking and available time.

Beautiful gallery/museum of great art from the 1400-1600’s. Most of the collection is focused on religious and catholic imagery. Snag a cappuccino on the terrace for views of the Duomo. Many iconic important art pieces, especially the Venus and the Medusa shield.

Would have liked to know that there was a cafeteria near the exit. Otherwise, 5 stars because this was an experience I will never forget. I recommend going to see the art you have on your bucket list first though. 3 hours was not enough time to be able to appreciate all of the mind-blowing art.

A must see museum, top 3 in Europe. I enjoyed a lot the Gallery, the great hall, especially the sealings, which they manage to transform them in pieces of art. For me, it was the best part of it, along with the views. You will find a variety of artists, paintings, sculptures, Michelangelo, Botticelli, Caravaggio. Reserve your ticket in advance, 20 euro and you pay 4 euros for the reservation.

Poor organization and rude staff for a gallery that claims to be of high rank. What is the point of buying “skip the line” tickets in advance if you would actually stand in line. There are large crowds visiting the place so it takes a long time to see and enjoy the most famous pieces they have. Putting all these aside - the gallery stores important and famous renaissance paintings. You will be able to go through each point of Renaissance’s history and various techniques from its beginning to its end.

Definitely the crown jewel of Florence. So many great works - paintings, sculptures, drawings. The tour groups are a bit much as they are large enough to plug up the viewing and walking areas and the guides tend to plant themselves in front of the important works and don’t move or care about those around them. Still, all the busyness aside, it’s a great experience.

Gallery itself is great. Didn't have problem with routes and places to sit. But it is horrible, how tickets are sold. Online, there is a fee 4 euros per ticket. There are other ticket offices within the city (without lines) selling the tickets to this gallery, also with a fee of 4 euros. So there is an artificial line in front of main ticket office, where you can buy a ticket for actual 20 euros. I consider this behavior shamefull. Also, before getting to the begging of exhibition, we felt like in Disneyland, going through long empty corridors to the actual attraction :)

Amazing works of art from the Renaissance period and beyond. Well worth it, do buy tickets in advance as ticket lines are quite long especially in the summer. Come prepared to spend about 1-3 hours here and enjoy the artworks to their fullest. One of the highlights during my trip, was great to see these arts and sculptures that played an instrumental role in the Renaissance and history of Florence itself.

Booked tickets (€16) from Uffizi official website and collected entry tickets at an office opposite Entrance 1. To avoid the crowd, best time to enter the Gallery is about 12.30pm. Visit starts at the highest level and ends at one level down. Impressive collection of renaissance artworks. Takes about 2 hours to leisurely view the artwork. Luckily there are many benches in the gallery for tired visitors to rest.

It is an endless gallery with lots and lots of artworks from throughout the history. It mainly has pieces from roman era, and then from renaissance. The place is beautiful. An audio guide (£6) might help with the tour. I recommend buying tickets in advance (£3 for students) otherwise you might have to wait in a queue for over an hour for the tickets. Once you enter the museum, it is a long walk till you can get out. Have atleast 2hours in hand before you enter, eat something and then go. There is one cafeteria after 2/3 of your tour. It is a must visit for art students and enthusiasts. It is a beautiful example of renaissance architecture too! I enjoyed it even though it was a bit too crowded.

That's the highlight of our Florence trip. We visited museums in Napoli, and Roma, but Uffizi Gallery is just more interesting, so many sculptures, very fine arts. Beside the building itself is really well designed for exhibits. Audio-guide is very simple and straight to the point. I regret though that explanations are mostly about the artists themselves, and not the historical context of the artworks themselves. A great 4 hours visit.

The view of the Uffizi U-shaped building and its inner courtyard, located not far from the Arno River, is perfect. Being here in this place and watching these works of art by genius artists is a great privilege. The construction of Uffizi was commissioned by Cosimo de Medici and designed and began construction of Giorgio Vasari in 1560. It's a beautiful building that has no objection. From then on, the Gallery - a museum with almost the largest collection of paintings from the 12th century to the 18th century and classical sculpture, will be created. At first it was opened on request, and in the middle of the 18th century it was open to the whole public. The museum is organized as a long labyrinth of rooms with amazing works of art displayed roughly in chronological order along a Renaissance building that was never created to be a museum. Cosimo de 'Medici had entrusted his favorite architect Giorgio Vasari to create a grandiose building right next to Palazzo Vecchio, the seat of power, to host the magistrates, the seats of the Florentine Guilds, and the vast theater and judiciary offices (hence the name " Uffizi ”which means offices in Italian). The Medici family were great lovers of art and also great collectors, and they managed in a short time to obtain works of art the greatest masters of painting and sculpture. Buontalenti created for Francesco de Medici an octagonal shaped room "Tribuna" ( small treasure chest), to host his favorite works of art and jewels ( sculptures, cameos, books, paintings, coins, armor, a potpurri of elements). The Tribune is considered the most ancient and precious heart of the Uffizi, still maintaining its original shape from its construction in 1584. Favorite works of art start from the Gothic painters which include Giotto and Cimabue, who left some of the largest altarpieces. The magic of the first hall is the sensation of being welcomed inside an ancient church, with low lighting reminding us of candle lights. We enjoyed the next one to walk through the Hall of Early Renaissance painters like Paolo Uccello and Masaccio and the beautiful unmistakable Portraits of the Dukes of Urbino, by Piero della Francesca. The profile of Federico da Montefeltro is one of the most impressive portraits of the Renaissance. A few steps from the diptych we find the largest hall of the museum, housing the most stunning and breathtaking paintings by Sandro Botticelli. We stop in just a few minutes to simply admire the silence of a large panel of the Allegory of Spring and the canvas of the Birth of Venus. We also enjoyed many other Botticelli works of art in these rooms. But what I was most interested in were the works of The Tondo Doni by Michelangelo (the Tondo Doni features the Christian Holy Family (the child Jesus, Mary, and Saint Joseph) along with John the Baptist in the foreground and contains five ambiguous nude males figures in the background) and Raphael's portraits. We are then delighted with the works of Leonardo da Vinci's one and only completed panel painting "The Annunciation," Filippo Lippi's Madonna and Child with Two Angels, Titian's Venus of Urbino, lots of other works, including works by Caravaggio, Tintoretto, Rembrandt, Velasquez, Rubens. ...... All these works around us are the magic of the beautiful. Also a special feature of Uffizi is the 'Corridoio Vasariano', a passage that in the past has helped Florentine nobility to pass seamlessly and unnoticed from the Medici offices, via Ponte Vecchi to Palazzo Pitti. An extremely meaningful, wonderful and interesting experience.

The Uffizi Gallery is the quintessential renaissance art museum. It leaves no doubt that Florence was indeed the most important city of that era. No matter how early you go - and you should go early after a good night's sleep - you will still be overwhelmed by the sheer number of masterpieces. There's no way that one visit is enough, but for most of us, visiting Florence will only happen once in a lifetime. Just remember to enjoy what you see and not to get frustrated because you missed a piece or two. If you need to see a particular piece of artwork, do some homework before you visit. Keep in mind that there's always going to be a crowd. Do yourself a favor and buy your ticket online. Choose the combination ticket. It will save you money and will allow you to visit 5 museums over a period of 5 days.

I find it incredible that these works of art can be so well preserved for us to admire and enjoy. From well known artists like DA Vinci, Michelangelo and Raffaello and many others there are so many pieces to see! I'm not an expert or even an aficionado of art but I was entranced.

Beautiful place worth visiting for painting and sculpture lovers. We have arrived slightly earlier then our time slot and didn't have to queue for the entry. This place cas a rooftop cafe facing the Santa Maria Cathedral but you might have to wait to get a table. Over all most of the rooms had a balanced temperature but some were hot, at moments it did feel like a maze due to multiple arrows in some rooms directing to different halls. Only some paintings spoke to me, but the sculptures and ceiling tapestries were magnificent. We wished on a Saturday Afternoon, I must say tickets are a bit expensive (£24 per person) if to compare with free museums in London, but we still enjoyed.

Lots of stairs initially and quite a lot of people in August, but it’s a very impressive gallery! Id recommend looking up the top things to see there because you could spend DAYS trying to see everything. They’ve got some renowned works there thatre all rich with history (insanely well preserved too). Must see!

Worth every Euro. Buy tickets online. Despite the crowd, there was no need to wait. The gallery has a separate entrance for pre-ordered tickets. The audio guide costs an additional €6. - I recommend it, because the experience and understanding of what you see becomes incomparably more meaningful. I recommend that this is the only major activity for one day in Florence. The tour can last 3 hours or more (depending on your attention to details). A lot of walking and a lot "to take in".

There is also a nice café for us.

It's famous for a reason! Beautiful museum/gallery! Would highly recommend for any art or history lovers. Both the art and statues are breath taking. The rooms themselves are also stunning with every ceiling beautifully painted. Also the lay out of the museum is very easy to follow.

Must visit whenever in Florence. One of the greatest museums in Italy. I would recommend not making a reservation beforehand but to go to th ticket office verz early in the morning and buy the ticket for entering before 8:30 for half the price. In case you plan to go there later (if you do not like waking up early for example) I recommend making a reservation/booking the tickets in advance.

One of the great art museums of the world. Crowded, even when I went early on a Monday morning in late October. But let the tour groups pass you by, as they are led through, and enjoy an amazing collection of world famous pictures. Take time to admire the building too, it is fantastic in its own way. I hardly scratched the surface despite spending all morning there.

You need more than one visit to properly enjoy the whole gallery. There is so much to see. If you are in high season or during the weekend get your tickets in advance. Some of the greatest works and artists are displaying there. Prepare to spend some serious time if you love art.

No need to leave a comment about the gallery: it's beautiful (obviously) and a must if you are in Florence. I just want to put 5 stars and thank all of the staff, for making our visit pleasant and smooth; a special mention for the guy at the wardrobe, for being nice and super funny, with us but with everybody else too. Thank you very much!

This gallery had many amazing side walks that allowed for me to insure that my children were completely tired before we left the museum. the food in the cafe was extremely delicious particularly the organic vegetarian mushroom risotto. However I found that the entrance fee was offer priced as their was no brochures available.

The art collection of the museum is really amazing. BUT: I was there yesterday, in corona-times. I was expecting a sensible museum policy on social distancing. Please let me warn you: this is not the case. There were too much people, pushing each other away to see works of art. No one seemed to take the social distancing seriously. The only thing that seemed to work is to cough loud demonstratively. That will keep people away! On top of it all: it was really impossibel to pass the museum shop safely!!! People were standing shoulder to shoulder. I wouldn’t be surprised if an outbreak will be immenent in Uffizi. Really people, start thinking!

We visited here during our stay in Florence in July 2020. We booked tickets online in advance and collected on the day of our visit which was easy. Prior to visiting we had downloaded the Uffizi app and paid for all the audio descriptions at only £1.79 which was much cheaper than the audio guide in the gallery. It was not particularly busy despite being the height of summer. We were able to spend as much time as we wanted in each room. There is more than enough to see to fill an entire day. The cafe although expensive had an amazing terrace over looking Palazzo Vecchio and the Duomo.

Magnificent. Full of history and culture, though it can get abit busy its worth it. Once inside your greater a grand Hallway which serve as an access path to all the side room the museum has to offer. These rooms contain different exhibitions from different culture periods of Florence/Italy. To me the Grand Duke exhibition was the most Interesting. Though see "Venus" in the person is stunning. The painting can be found within the first side room, located on the far wall.

  • 4/5 Julianna G. 4 years ago on Google
The museum building itself is gorgeous, and some of the best known paintings in the world are here. We were relieved to find a cafeteria since we got hungry halfway through. Two aspects we did not like: 1) confusing layout and poor directional signage and 2) too many of the same two things: most of the collection was Greek and Roman statues and Madonna and Child paintings... You finally just start walking past them.

Because of its huge collection, some of the Uffizi's works have in the past been transferred to other museums in Florence—for example, some famous statues to the Bargello. A project was finished in 2006 to expand the museum's exhibition space some 6,000 metres2 to almost 13,000 metres2, allowing public viewing of many artworks that had usually been in storage. The New Uffizi renovation project which started in 1989 was progressing well in 2015 to 2017. It was intended to modernize all of the halls and more than double the display space. As well, a new exit was planned and the lighting, air conditioning and security systems were updated. During construction, the museum remained open, although rooms were closed as necessary with the artwork temporarily moved to another location. For example, the Botticelli rooms and two others with early Renaissance paintings were closed for 15 months but reopened in October 2016. The major modernization project, New Uffizi, had increased viewing capacity to 101 rooms by late 2016 by expanding into areas previously used by the Florence State Archive. The Uffizi hosted over two million visitors in 2016, making it the most visited art gallery in Italy. In high season, waiting times can be up to five hours. Tickets are available on-line in advance, however, to significantly reduce the waiting time. A new ticketing system is currently being tested to reduce queuing times from hours to just minutes. The museum is being renovated to more than double the number of rooms used to display artwork.

Must visit in Florence. The collection is truly remarkable. It is one of the most important Italian museums and the most visited. It is also one of the largest and best known in the world and holds a collection of priceless works, particularly from the period of the Italian Renaissance. Uffizi means office. Once it was made for government offices.

Why the hair of this Antinous bust are so important? Because Michelangelo sculpted the hair of his David in the same way: while even the veins under the skin of the David are incredibly detailed, why its hair are - in some way - unfinished? Because Michelangelo (according to our P. Daverio) probably saw - during his first travel to Rome - one of the many statues of Antinous just found in that period and he probably thought that was the classic way to represent the hairs in a statue. He couldn't know that the roman sculptors used to leave the Antinous hair unfinished because they used to complete it by stucco and gold: he saw the roman statues after they have been 1200 years underground and there was no trace of that finishing anymore... That was the first inspiration for his technique of the "non-finito" (unfinished) that he deeply explored from the "Prigioni" (some of them are in the Accademia Gallery, half a Km from Uffizi and the others in Paris Louvre) up to his ultimate "Pietà Rondanini" (that is in Milan Castello Sforzesco).

Le opera d'arte sono fantastiche. Il mio voto è sulla gestione. Siamo stati qui in Agosto 2020.

Along the river Arno, inside there are the works of art of the greatest artists in history, including works by Raphael, Botticelli, Giotto, Leonardo da Vinci just to name a few. Inside, the museum is divided into two floors comprising both sculptures and paintings. Walking along the internal corridor one is particularly fascinated by the most representative works of Botticelli's collection: The Spring and The Birth of Venus, which collect the main curiosity of the museum visitors. While on the outside, in particular on the ground floor, there is a portico which is made up of various columns where statues depicting the main artists and historical figures of Florence are placed. (Translated by Google) The best gift I've ever given me !!! The visit to the Uffizi Gallery fills the eyes with beauty and lifts the heart in dark and sad moments like those of the Covid period. Visiting Gallwria now has the immense advantage of finding it almost deserted allowing the visit without anyone around, in total safety. The rooms have a powerful ventilation system, suitable for the correct maintenance of the paintings. So the visit with the use of the mask is safe. The works are magnificent !!! Botticelli, Titian, Caravaggio. Visiting this wonder is a unique gift! As soon as possible, don't miss this beauty !! Botticelli, Tiziano, Caravaggio. Visitare questa meraviglia è un regalo unico! Appena possibile, non perderti questa bellezza!!

Almost 500 year old museum storing world treasures. During covid-19 there is almost no one there and you can find yourself in the Leonardo all by yourself for several minutes at a time.

Well organized gallery with detailed information on each piece, in both English and Italian. The layout of the museum is sensible, so you won't get lost or accidentally skip a room. Even at a quick pace, you can easily spend three or more hours here. It wasn't too crowded in November, and I could easily buy my tickets online the night before.

  • 5/5 Anna Emese C. 3 years ago on Google
With this covid craziness it was easy to get in, but I would still recommend you to buy your ticket online. It was a good experience, even if you are not the biggest fan of art, you could spend 2 hours there, because it is beautiful.

It's an amazing experience with plenty of art collection and lifesize statues and busts. If you want the story of one and each you can rent a portable translator that will tell you the story of each and every single detail of each post. A coffee shop and an amazing view from the wide terrace.

This is a must see if you are in the area, absolutely beautiful! The paintings and Sculptures are amazing. To say the area outside the museum is worth visiting would be be the understatement of the year. An outstanding collection for sure!

2328 freedom traveller

(Translated by Google) There are a lot of works like the ones below... It's large in size, and there aren't many people other than famous paintings like the goddess of spring, so I don't feel like it's crowded. There are also many chairs in the middle, so it is recommended to sit down and relax. In addition to the exhibited works, the palace itself is also decorated with colorful ceilings and details, and there are many types of paintings (art major), so you can explore your own favorite paintings and explore leisurely and enjoyment. From the corridor and cafe, I can see the Florence landscape well, so I look at the outside scenery as well as the artwork. I went in the morning and watched slowly until it was almost closed. I saw a few guide teams, but all the teams who came in late in the afternoon are tired, so the painting is in the back and I lean on the wall or look for chairs. Piti Palace was also good, so if you like paintings and have time It is recommended to purchase a combined ticket. When you leave the museum, it is connected to the post office, so you can buy postcards at the souvenir shop and send them right away. (Translated by Google) I visited the Uffizi just over a week ago. It being understood that all the works exhibited and the galleries that house them are of a beauty and an inestimable value, the negative note lies in the management of the website where not all the information appears, the low disclosure of very important news such as the fact of not being able to see the room with the works of Caravaggio, this relevant detail was not present anywhere, indeed outside the building there is a huge poster that acclaims its presence in a room only for the artist, but we find ourselves at the end of the path and not see them. We had to ask for information about it and such a thing is not admissible from one of the most important and visited museums in the world. then we ended the visit with a bit of a bitter taste in the mouth, and a simple notice was enough either on the site or at the entrance, a sign of professionalism and respect that was totally ignored.

A critical note to cloakroom logistics: to retrieve the stored items, you must first exit the museum on the street and then return from the entrance passing through the check-in again for security checks, when you have to queue it is a discreet inconvenience.

(Translated by Google) Nothing to take away from the historical and artistic value of the place, it is a museum full of beauty that must absolutely be visited. Despite this, the management was not the best and it was not possible due to the works to visit a large part of the museum. What you can admire is in itself worth the price of the ticket but it made me sad to see one of the national excellences held in this confusing state. I'll be back, maybe post covid, maybe it's just a bad transition period.

My husband and I had wonderful time there. We had a tour guide for a day so she explained history and art of Florence. It was very educational but we needed more time. I would like to stay a couple of days there.

  • 5/5 Fariba 2 years ago on Google
The museum consists of painting and sculptures of different eras, you can see the progress in the art styles… in the middle of the touring they placed a cafe for resting and refreshment 👍 like many other museums the exit path goes through the gift shop 🙄

  • 4/5 Karen E. 2 years ago on Google
Not being great art lovers, we still managed to spend a good two hours in this gallery. Starting at the top, you make your way down through many different rooms. Most of the art was of the religious variety and had come from churches. Even I was 'moved' to stand next to a Rembrandt.

  • 4/5 Philippe L. 2 years ago on Google
If you want stories about the different pieces of art, you better do it with a tour guide because the audio guide could not be less informative. The paintings and sculptures are beautiful but could be quite repetitive (religious art and portraits mostly as you would expect). Typically it takes 2h to visit even at a good pace.

Museum itself is gorgeous, lots of old masters, some very famous pieces. It is quite busy, and i was here in October(off season, as they call it) However buying tickets is an adventure. There is one place where you buy tickets, first you go through metal detector, than there's is one lady in register, texting. The proces takes seriously 2 minutes, but they make it a 30 minute adventure.

  • 5/5 Dan L. 2 years ago on Google
I have to museums all over the world and this is the best of the best! I could have literally spent a week here and still discovered new princess works for art to marvel at. Make sure to buy the advance registration tickets for an extra four Euro to avoid the long lines.

  • 5/5 WRL 2 years ago on Google
We had advance tickets and avoided a fairly long line. The Italians are very efficient with checking Covid passes and museum queues in general, and the Uffizi was no exception. The works of art are some of the finest in the world.

Quite liked this museum. Some quite famous works here (like the Birth of Venus) and a nice terrace at the top with some food and drink. Lots of busts and other sculptures as well. The line situation to get in is a bit of a challenge that could use some streamlining but if you go Sunday it is free and you can get a ticket with a set time to come back too.

Great experience! This place is worth it. Get your tickets ahead of time. It was easy to walk around and the crowds in front of the most famous works were a little hard to deal with but there are so many significant works on display here that it is not to hard to find the room to enjoy the artwork. Stop and look out the windows. There are some great views of many of Florence's famous landmarks.

A must see in Florence, you could spend and entire day taking in all the art and still feel like you need more time. Even the ceilings and building itself had so much immense detail to take in. Worth the visit and allow yourself lots of time to enjoy all the Uffizi has to offer.

  • 5/5 Roy M. 1 year ago on Google
Unquestionably one of the best art museums of the world. Besides the famous masterpieces there are also a few beautiful works by later artists like bronzino, and copies of famous sculptures whose original is located elsewhere. The view of the city from the museum is also nice

We did book tickets online. We got a reduced price because we are in our twenties. We did not wait long. You first have to exchange your voucher for you ticket and then get in the entrance line. The gallery is very large and has many beautiful pieces. Also there is a café on the second floor.

It's nice to see great men who marked not only the history of Italy but also the whole world with their ingenious ideas and thinking in one place. There are a lot of visitors, so expect big crowds at times. You do not need a ticket to enter this area. Sometimes you can find a painter who found his creativity here and witness the creation of another piece of art. 🙂

Great museum! Lots of interesting pieces, especially from the renaissance, baroque eras (and many Greek/ roman sculptures too!) We spent maybe 4 hours there?

My partner and I are not really into art. We came near the end of our trip after seeing numerous art exhibits, obviously it cannot compare to the Vatican museum. Really spacious and cool to walk around but maybe would have enjoyed it more if we had an interest in art.

This is our third visit to this iconic gallery and it just gets more enjoyable every time we go. We ticketed using the Firenze pass online and called to reserve a time slot. Pretty simple not too complicated. Still a pretty decent line where there used to be skip the line, and a pretty extensive metal detector run before you get in. The gallery is as wonderful as ever with a broad selection of painting and sculpture. The more well-known items are now kind of set in different spaces of their easier to find without so much searching. I found the modern art additions to the gallery that were plugged in among the classics to be really annoying. Something that resembles a red Japanese octopus with suspended from the ceiling of the red room. Almost sacrilege.

A must see place! A museum hosted in a 16 century palace right in the center of Florence. The collection of Renaissance paintings is exceptional and contains works by the most famous painters of the era, including Michelangelo, da Vinci and Botticelli. You need several hours to go through step by step, but make sense to spend this time to see the gallery.

Stepping into the Uffizi Museum felt like a journey through time and artistry. The moment you enter, the air is charged with the whispers of history, and the walls seem to tell stories that transcend centuries. Each brushstroke, every delicate detail in the paintings, carries the passion of the artists who breathed life into these masterpieces. As you wander through the halls, you can't help but be captivated by the sheer genius on display—Botticelli's ethereal Birth of Venus, Michelangelo's raw power in The Holy Family—it's an intimate conversation with the artistic greats. The energy within the Uffizi is palpable, a dance between the past and the present. Amidst the art, time seems to stand still, allowing you to be a part of something much larger than yourself. It's not just a museum; it's a living, breathing testament to the human spirit expressed through art. A must-visit for anyone who seeks to be moved by the profound beauty woven into the fabric of our shared history.

Very famous museum. So many infamous art pieces make it worth visiting. It can get very crowded so I would recommend getting a ticket for right when it opens so you can stay ahead of the crowds. Amazing visit.

  • 3/5 Chia-chen L. 2 months ago on Google New
The museum was very very crowded so not only was it difficult to get a better look of the artwork, the air inside was really bad. I can’t imagine how it would be in summer. The museum is too big for one to enjoy the whole collection in one day without getting tired. I was mainly there for Joana Vasconcelos, it turned out there is only one piece of her work in this gallery. The portrait area is, in my opinion , the best part in the whole gallery since it is quite interesting to compare the style and setting of every portrait of different artists. Definitely book the tickets online.

An art gallery filled with great art exhibits and well worth the visit. My friend and I visited over the Christmas holidays and had to spend almost an hour in line to get tickets because the online booking was sold out, but it was well worth it. Please note that the audio guide in the gallery requires you to deposit your ID there to rent it, so remember to bring your ID if you need it for your visit.

It is the greatest gallery I have ener been. The art work there is priceless and especially the paintings will blow ypur mind. Totally worth paying for a visit and you will regret if you go to Florence and miss it. It is the source of all the museums and galleries in the world and the story of this is remarkable!

The Uffizi Gallery is a MUST visit when in Florence. It's one of the most famous museums in the world, and for good reason. I spent several hours touring the place and have enjoyed every minute of it. Lots of splendid works of art. While crowded during the time of my visit, it wasn't unbearable and did not spoil the visit for me. Summertime would probably be a nightmare visiting the museum.
