The most well-known spot to have a view over Firenze. Very busy some times of the day and weekends, get ready for a very touristy place, still the views are totally worth going up there.

A popular place to enjoy the sunset and the view of the city. I think there used to be a stairs trail up but it was closed for construction. The slope up was manageable but may be a little tough if you are not fit. Great ambience with nice music - there was a busker performing the whole time we were waiting for the sun to set. It's a nice feeling sitting amidst people from all over the world, congregated in the same spot to enjoy what nature has to offer. :')

The best place to get a truly panoramic view of Florence's skyline. The walk uphill to the square could be quite taxing specially on a hot summer day so try to time it in the early morning or in the late afternoon. I chose the afternoon to coincided the climb with the sunset over the River Arno.

The square is one of the most popular and vibrant places, and many visitors flock to it periodically. From this square, you can see some beautiful views of the city. The square is located on a high hill, which makes it provide wonderful views from the top. You can go there and enjoy touring with those who You like and do not forget to see the view of the enchanting sunset from there, which covers the city with an enchanting beauty with its charming orange color that illuminates the city with a breathtaking view.

Nice night view spot. Didn’t make it to come before sunset but the night view is quite good too. It would be good to bring snacks, sit on the stair and enjoy the sunset. The stairs up was an easy walk.

Piazzale Michelangelo is a very spacious plaza full of people. There is a replica of David in the middle that is supposed to be an attraction, but then you see the view. This is probably the best place to see an overview of Florence. At sunrise and sunset you'll be able to admire Florence in all its twilight beauty. The sun reflects off the river, the bascillica lights up, and the town flickers alive, all in view from this Piazzale.

Superb place to get panoramic views of the city of Florence. Easily accessible by city buses. Restaurants, food bars and shopping available. 360 degree views of the City in all its majesty including all the famous churches, cathedrals, bridges, river and the meandering city views make this a must place to go to while visiting Florence.

Absolutely the best place to take your date or spouse in all of Florence! The view of the sunset and the river is second to none! Get there early enough to secure a table. Get drinks from the vendors and bring a deck of cards. When the sunset arrives, prepare to hug and kiss! Stunning!

You know, when you have a list to see many things in one day, and the first thing you do is go to Piazzale Michelangelo. Well... After that you don't have much strength to do the rest 😂 I enjoyed the walk, especially the view. Mesmerizing. I highly recommend it, but do it on the sunset. You won't regret it.

Amazing place really! You have to walk a lot to get here, but once you get there it’s amazing! You have the most extraordinary view of Florence! There is a statue in the middle in honor of Michelangelo, and there are people selling drinks, food and souvenirs!

The best place to see the city of Florence. From the hill top, Florence is just wonderful. You will fall in love with the place. It wonderful in the day but it's even more beautiful once it's dark and the shimmering lights are on. Recommend everyone who visit Florence not to moss this wonderful place.

Incredible views of Florence for free! A must stop over at Piazzale Michelangelo for breath taking views of Florence and surroundings The weather wasn't the best when I went there but still incredible panoramic views. There are also little markets around if you wish to eat or buy souvenirs. Not too far from the city center and would only take 15 minutes by car.

Lovely square where you can see over the city. Great views at sunset but it gets super busy! Lovely walk up and down too, worth a visit!

Nice spot to look out across Florence and get some photos. Parking was quite easy and available - approx 2 Euros per hour (I think!). Lots of tacky souvenir stands if you're into that. It can get quite busy at sunset, but we were there at 4pm and it was relatively quiet. Definitely worth going.

I would recommend you to come at sunset to see one of the most beautiful views you could see. This place is really amazing, it is at the top of the hill, so be prepared to walk and put on your shoes, but the view is worth it if you are ever in Florence.

Perfect place for a view of the city and to watch the sunset. Hundreds of people gather at the end of the day, but there are plenty of places to get your view. When we went there was a guy making bubbles which was cool, and food “trucks” selling a variety of eats.

Great place to with beautiful of Florence and the surrounding mountains. A bit less manic than the main city centre where families and individuals can relax whilst enjoyed green space and the unrivalled views. And it's free!

For the best views of Florence, walk (or take the No 12 bus) up the hill. You won't find a better place to view the city. Take a map with you to help identify the different landmarks.

About a 10-15 minute uphill walk from the Ponte Vecchio Bridge. Alternatively can be reached by a no.13 bus from the main station. Stunning panoramic view across Florence, with several vendors and a restaurant to serve your needs.

Beautiful viewpoint to observe this amazing city during day or night. Copy of Michelangelo's David in the middle of the square. Very romantic in night lights. You can take a bus that will take you up to the hill, and the stop is right on the square.

Must visit in Florence. Great view from the whole city, river and bridges. Very vivid as many people gather there. Magical place at dusk.

The hill was amazing!! We went there close to the sunset, ordered Spritz, and sat on tge stairs to watch the beautiful sunset. The stairs are a bit crowded but you’ll always find a place to sit. An artist was performing while we visited, and he made the experience much better!! It was very romantic :) It took us around 20-25 minutes to go there from the city center by foot. Can recommend going there near sunset time.

A good spot to see the entire city roofs. It’s better to go later in the afternoon to avoid high temperature in Summer. The hiking tend to be very hot under the sun! The sunset is stunning!

A definite must see in Florence. Catching a sunset here with a glass of wine while sitting on the steps is a great way to spend an hour or two. Also great view during the day as well. There are vendors there selling tourist items. The cafe by the steps is ok but they prefer for you to sit down to order versus just getting a coffee to go. But if you buy something you can get a coin for the little restroom instead of paying a euro.

Great overview of the city you can’t miss. Definitely a bit of a challenge to get to the top so keep that in mind. But there’s a concession stand at the to refresh yourself and there was a nice breeze when I went!

A great place for a stroll. This is a large place with a replica of David’s sculpture. This is very popular and crowded at sunset, but you can still enjoy the place. There are several kiosks around, a nice view on Florence, and places to sit and relax. On your way back you can see a very beautiful and large fountain.

Perfect viewpoint to see the complete Florence city. I recommend going here as early as possible, in the day because it gets super crowded in the afternoon. Hiking to this point is really serene and on your way to the top, you can also see the walls of the old city. If you have your own car then you can drive up to the top. There is plenty of space to park also considering non crowded hours.

One of the best spots to admire and enjoy the full view of the beautiful city of Florence- Firenze! The hike up there can be challenging but just think of it as your daily workout , you will be thankful once you get to the top of the hill! The view is just breathtaking 😍

The hike to Piazzale Michelangelo is well worth the climb. Cross the Arno from the historic center for a great view of the of the whole city. Be prepared for a 500 foot elevation and take the route through the rose garden. A public attraction not requiring tickets.

  • 4/5 Caique M. 5 months ago on Google
It is obviously crowded at sunset time, and there will be guys checking for bus tickets (so don’t hitchhike). But apart from that I highly recommend, there’s no better place to see the sunset in Florence. (Go by walking if you can)

This area is just 10 minutes across the Arnau river from the heart of Florence. You go uphill and have spectacular views of Florence and all of the historic sites. It has one of the two replicas of the statue of David, in the event you do not want to visit the real one in the Academia Museum. It has become very touristy with merchants and vendors hawking their wares. Nice place to spend 10–15 minutes to check out the views and then move on to less touristy areas!

Came here in the morning on a weekday and it wasn’t very crowded. Plenty of free parking spaces as well which was great. The view is super amazing and beautiful!! You can see all of the main Florence landmarks from here and the replica of David is also magnificent! Definitely recommend coming here if you’re in Florence! Best view of the city :)

Really amazing place where you can get a panoramic view of Florence. It's quite an incline to get to the top so be prepared with good shoes but it is so worth it. The view is fantastic and there are some nice fountains and gardens along the way. Highly recommended.

Absolutely gorgeous view of Florence especially at sunset but be sure to get there early because crowds form early on. Just a little bit of walk from town center but definitely worth it. This is the place where the original statue of David was but to protect it, it was moved to the museum it sits in now. A replica is in its place. Highly recommend and would definitely return.

It was so beautiful here!!! Panoramic views of Florence and beautiful gardens. One thing, make sure your ticket is bought before you go on the bus because those card scanners don’t work and they fined us 80€ AS we were purchasing the tickets via the app. Like 1 ticket was purchased and the other one we were checking out and they said too bad, you had to buy it before you got on. The bus ticket people were really mean in Florence, particularly this route, and really lovely everywhere else in Italy.

This is amazing excellent place to see scenic views of Florence!! The walk also walks off a few calories! Sun set is apparently really good from here. There is a nice bar nearby and a very chilled atmosphere
